Security and Privacy Mechanism using TCG/TPM to various WSN (다양한 무선네트워크 하에서 TCG/TPM을 이용한 정보보호 및 프라이버시 매커니즘)

  • In this paper, To improve the effectiveness of security enforcement, the first contribution in this work is that we present a clustered heterogeneous WSN(Wareless Sensor Network) architecture, composed of not only resource constrained sensor nodes, but also a number of more powerful high-end devices acting as cluster heads. Compared to sensor nodes, a high-end cluster head has higher computation capability, larger storage, longer power supply, and longer radio transmission range, and it thus does not suffer from the resource scarceness problem as much as a sensor node does. A distinct feature of our heterogeneous architecture is that cluster heads are equipped with TC(trusted computing) technology, and in particular a TCG(Trusted Computing Group) compliant TPM (Trusted Platform Module) is embedded into each cluster head. According the TCG specifications, TPM is a tamper-resistant, self-contained secure coprocessor, capable of performing cryptographic functions. A TPM attached to a host establishes a trusted computing platform that provides sealed storage, and measures and reports the integrity state of the platform.

  • To match the requirements of heterogeneous mobile devices, video objects may be transcoded, which requires considerable CPU resources. Alternatively, multiple versions of the same video may be stored on servers, but this requires a lot of disk space. We formulate the trade-off between the versions that are stored on disk and the need for transcoding. We propose an optimal solution to this formulation based on dynamic programming. Experiments show that our scheme allows up to 68% more clients to be admitted than conventional schemes when a reasonable amount of storage is available.

  • Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is a unique non-destructive technique employed to analyze various devices in different energy storage applications. It characterizes materials and interfaces for their properties in heterogeneous systems employing equivalent circuits as models. So far, it has been used to analyze the performance of various photovoltaic cells, fuel cells, batteries, and other energy storage devices, through equivalent circuit designing. This review highlights the diverse applications of EIS in fuel cells and specific parameters affecting its performance. A particular emphasis has been laid on the challenges faced by this technique and their possible solutions.

An Efficient Buffer Cache Management Scheme for Heterogeneous Storage Environments (이기종 저장 장치 환경을 위한 버퍼 캐시 관리 기법)

  • Flash memory has many good features such as small size, shock-resistance, and low power consumption, but the cost of flash memory is still high to substitute for hard disk entirely. Recently, some mobile devices, such as laptops, attempt to use both flash memory and hard disk together for taking advantages of merits of them. However, existing OSs (Operating Systems) are not optimized to use the heterogeneous storage media. This paper presents a new buffer cache management scheme. First, we allocate buffer cache space according to access patterns of block references and the characteristics of storage media. Second, we prefetch data blocks selectively according to the location of them and access patterns of them. Third, we moves destaged data from buffer cache to hard disk or flash memory considering the access patterns of block references. Trace-driven simulation shows that the proposed schemes enhance the buffer cache hit ratio by up to 29.9% and reduce the total I/O elapsed time by up to 49.5%.

  • We address how to handle big data mining effectively using the intelligent SSD (iSSD). ISSD is a storage device equipped with computing power inside SSD for reducing the transferring cost and for processing data nearby SSD where the data is stored. We first introduce the structural characteristics of iSSD for efficient data processing. Then, we present how to process data mining algorithms by using iSSD. Finally, we discuss how to improve the performance of data mining algorithms significantly by exploiting heterogeneous computing environment where host CPUs and GPU coexist for maximizing the performance.

  • To assist in data collection, the use of a mobile sink has been widely suggested in the literature. Due to the limited sensor node's storage capacity, this manner to collect data induces huge latencies and drop packets. Their buffers will be overloaded and lead to network congestion. Recently, a new bio-inspired optimization algorithm appeared. Researchers were inspired by the swarming mechanism of salps and thus creating what is called the Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA). This paper improves the sink mobility to enhance energy dissipation, throughput, and convergence speed by imitating the salp's movement. The new approach, named the Mobile Sink based on Modified Salp Swarm Algorithm (MSSA), is approved in a heterogeneous Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) data collection. The performance of the MSSA protocol is assessed using several iterations. Results demonstrate that our proposal surpass other literature algorithms in terms of lifespan and throughput.

  • According to the progress of multimedia technology and growth of high speed network, plenty of multimedia contents are produced and in circulation. Because of these reasons, it is required that the method which can manage efficiently and make multimedia contents, for which are saved in Storage as different used, synchronize. In this paper, the metadata schema that can manage the method with being database using each Device metadata that are produced by extracting the needed information to multimedia contents is suggested. And the method that can make synchronized multimedia contents metadata on connecting between heterogeneous devices is proposed.

Large vendors (such as Facebook, YouTube, Google) in the mass sending of data through the network quickly and easily share photos, videos, documents, etc. from heterogeneous devices, such as tablets, smartphones, and the data that is stored in the cloud storage using was approached.   • 비디오와 같은 매체가 결합된 대용량의 멀티미디어 데이터를 보다 효율적으로 저장 및 검색하기 위한 연구가 다양한 분야에 걸쳐 진행중이다. 본 논문에서는 NoD 서비스용 내용-기반 비디오 정보검색을 위해, 미국의 Wisconsin 대학에서 개발한 SHORE(Scalable Heterogeneous Object Repository) 객체-재향 저장 시스템을 이용하여, 멀티미디어 객체 자체의 비디오 스트림 데이터와 그에 따르는 부가적인 색인 정보를 효율적으로 저장하고 관리하기 위한 하부 저장 구조를 설계한다.

A Case of Glycogen Storage Disease with Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (비대심장근육병증을 동반한 당원축적병 1 예)

  • Glycogen storage diseases are a heterogeneous group of metabolic disorder affecting multiple organ system: liver, skeletal muscle, heart and brain. Clinical features include: short status, hepatomegaly, hypoglycemia, dyslipidemia and rare involvement of the myocardium except in the case of type III, glycogen storage diseases with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in adult, which is extremely rare. We treated a case of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy with hepatomegaly that was unknown etiology. The patient was diagnosed as having glycogen storage disease. This 46-year old women was transferred with dyspnea on exertion and abnormal LFTs. She was diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy by echocardiography but there was no specific cause for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. A liver biopsy was performed. The result showed glycogen storage disease possible type III, IV or IX. In conclusion, patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy of unknown etiology and abnormal LFTs should be evaluated for glycogen storage disease.
