처방 및 약선요리 제조 과정의 데이터베이스 구축을 위한 형태소 분석 연구 (Morphological Analysis Study for the Development of DB on the Manufacture Process of Prescription and Medicinal Food)

  • Objectives : Treatment using foods has already been recorded since the time of Zhou Dynasty of China. Modifications in the cooking process of medicinal food or manufactural process of herbal medicines are accompanied by the alterations in the ingredients that affect the actual efficacies of medicinal food or herbal medicine, and may have marked effects on the patients including the difficulties that may be experienced in consuming the food or taking the medicine. Therefore, systemic management is essential in such processes. Accordingly, management of such knowledge system must be standardized and conveniently administered by grafting IT technology. This study aims to overcome the problem of the failure of the knowledge system on the material-oriented medicinal herbs to apply the knowledge on the cooking process that impart marked influence on the actual efficacies of the medicinal herbs. Methods : Therefore, analysis of the cooking process or manufacturing processes of prescriptions was executed by using the morphological analysis method in natural language. In this study, we aimed to make data structure of the terminologies that represent manufacture process of prescription and medicinal food. The data structure is combinations of smallest unit in natural language. We made the database by analyzing morpheme of the natural language to express the manufacture process of prescription and medicinal food. Results & Conclusions : As the results, we can express making process of Cheonjin-won, Guseon-wangdogo and Sanyagbaegboglyeongtalagjuk in DB. It was concluded that the development of DB through the extraction of a total of 15 types of concepts including 'order', 'action' and 'continuous action', etc. was helpful in systematization of the knowledge on medicinal herbs including the manufacturing process.

인삼 점무늬병균(Alternaria panax)과 탄저병균(Colletotrichum gloeosporioides)에 대한 길항미생물 Bacillus spp. 선발 (Screening of Antifungal Bacillus spp. against Alternaria Blight Pathogen (Alternaria panax) and Anthracnose Pathogen (Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) of Ginseng)

  • This study was carried out to research microorganisms having the antifungal activity against ginseng Alternaria blight pathogen Alternaria panax and ginseng anthracnose pathogen Colletotrichum gloeosporioides. Eleven Bacillus strains. were isolated from Korean traditional soybean paste and Kimchi. Among the 11 isolates, DJ5, KC1, KC2 and KC4 showing antagonistic activity on the mycelial growth of A. panax and C. gloeosporioides in pairing culture were finally selected as the antagonistic microorganisms. Based on 16s rRNA sequence and phylogenetic tree analysis, they were identified as Bacillus spp.. The selected microorganisms were investigated antagonistic activity by measured leaf-segment colonization in pot test. When Bacillus sp. were injected after A. panax treatment, KC1, KC2 and KC4 showed similar effect to chemical pesticides treated control. To measure preventive effect of Bacillus sp, antagonistic microorganisms were injected and C. gloeosporioides was treated in pot. When measuring the effectiveness for the prevention of Anthracnose, All Bacillus spp. showed approximately 83~90 % degree of superior preventive effect. In general, The four Bacillus spp. isolated from Korean traditional fermented foods showed therapeutic effect of Alternaria blight and preventive effect of Anthracnose.

『동의보감(東醫寶鑑)』에 수록된 돼지 활용(活用)에 관한 고찰(考察) - 단방처방(單方處方)을 중심으로 - (The Medicinal Effects of Pork in 『Donguibogam』)

  • Objectives : "Donguibogam(東醫寶鑑)" is a medical book of the Joseon Dynasty compiled by Heo Jun and was first published in 1613. It recorded a great deal of prescriptions which contained pork and gave detailed explanations of parts of pork's natural properties and effects. Pork is widely used as a food ingredient in the world but the traditional medicine community has a contraindication of pork and traditional herbal medicines taken together. The aim of this study was to find the supports to develop pork functional foods for the treatment of diseases in "Donguibogam". Methods : Therefore we investigated the documents recorded in "Donguibogam" about usefulness of pork which were used for not only a food ingredient but also a medicine. Results : "Donguibogam" introduced 25 parts of pork including liver, kidney, stomach, bladder, heart etc, and a variety of taking ways i.e. common usages which are internal, external, common use, and aid use which cure a variety of diseases not a simple food but a therapies food. Conclusions : We confirmed that pork has been used to treat many diseases, so we propose to develop pork functional foods available for prevention and cure of certain diseases.

령선제통음전탕액(靈仙除痛飮煎湯液)의 경시적(經時的) 효능변화(效能變化)에 관(關)한 연구(硏究) (A Study on the Degraded Effect of Decocted Youngsunjetongeum over a Period)

  • From the ancient times, herbs, animals and minerals were used as natural medicine to cure human disease in diverse ways. One of the representative forms in oral intake is decoction. But medicinal decoction degenerates as time passes just as all foods do by the environmental factors, such as micro-organism, enzyme, light and the air. Nowadays, as medicinal decoctions are kept in bottles and retort pouch for longtime, some standard data for preservation is necessary. In order to measure the standard statistics for safe preservation, Youngsunjetongeum used to treat rheumatism, and gout 'were used. According to this experiment which measured pH, specific gravity, analgesic effect and anti-inflammatory effect, the results were as follows: 1. No remarkable change was found in pH and in the specific gravity of decoction. 2. As for the analgesic effect induced by acetic acid in mice, no remarkable decrease in its medicinal efficacy was found, until the 9th day, but it showed in its medicinal efficacy from the 11th day. 3. As for the resultant anti-inflammatory effect caused by vascular permeability, induced by carrageenin and acetic acid, no remarkable decrease in its medicinal efficacy was found until the 9th day, but showed decrease in its medicinal efficacy from 11th day. In conclusion, keeping the natural medicinal decoction more than 9 days should be avoided.

수경재배 시 1년생 묘삼 이식 후 경과일수에 따른 인삼의 생육 및 Ginsenoside 함량 (Growth and Ginsenoside Content of One Year Old Ginseng Seedlings in Hydroponic Culture over a Range of Days after Transplanting)

  • Background: Ginseng produced by hydroponics can be cultivated without using agricultural chemicals; thus, it can be used as a raw materials for functional foods, medicines, and cosmetics. This study aimed to determine the optimal harvesting time to obtain the highest levels of ginsenoside and ginseng, as this was not previously unknown. Methods and Results: One-year-old organic ginseng seedlings were transplanted and cultivated using hydroponics for 150 days in a venlo-type greenhouse, using ginseng nursery bed soil and a nutrient solution ($NO_3{^-}-N$; 6.165, P; 3.525, K; 5.625, Ca; 4.365, Mg; 5.085, S; $5.31mEq/{\ell}$). Ginsenoside content and fresh and dry weights were higher at 120 days after transplanting than at 30, 60, 90, and 150 days. Total ginsenoside content was 11.86 times higher in the leaf and stem than in the root at 120 days after transplanting. Ginsenosides F1, F2, F3, and F5 were detected in ginseng leaves and stems. These chemical compounds are known to be effective in altering skin properties, including whitening, anti-inflammation, and anti-aging. Conclusions: Optimal harvesting time for ginseng cultivated using hydroponics was 120 days after transplanting when the biomass and ginsenoside content were highest.

인진쑥의 scopoletin함량 분석 및 뇌혈류량에 미치는 영향 (Analysis of Scopoletin Content and Effect on Regional Cerebral Blood Flow)

  • In this study, Artemisia capillaris, which has been used as oriental medicine area and folks remedy, was investigated for effective substance (scopoletin) analysis. As an attempt to develop new functional beverage by using medicinal herb, Artemisia capillaris. Therefore we investigate the effect of scopoletin in Artemisia capillaris on vessel and regional cerebral blood flow (rCBF) of rats. Artemisia capillaris extract was significantly decreased vessel constraction and significantly increased rCBF. Artemisia capillaris has often been cited in medical literature for its medicinal effects. Although the Korean Food and Drug Administration indicated Artemisia capillaris as the In-Jin-Sook which was allowed as a food stuff. From the view point of the subjects who eat In-Jin-Sook products, most of them ingested it for a certain pharmacological efficacy rather than as a beverage or a food. According to this facts, we need develop functional foods using In-Jin-Sook. Also scopoletin, get known to smooth muscle relaxation content was 326.13 ug/g. These results demonstrate that Artemisia capillaris has pharmaceutical effects and balanced nutritional contents. In according with Artemisia capillaris has a sufficiency of the terms use of food stuff in functional foods.

약용작물 종자 생산 및 보급체계 개선 (Seed Production and Distribution System Improvement of Medicinal Crop Seeds)

  • 국민의 건강과 웰빙에 대한 관심 증대 및 소득 증가로 한약재 소비를 비롯한 식품과 화장품 원료로서의 산업적 가치가 커지면서 약용작물의 수요는 점차 증가할 것으로 예상하며 한, 중 FTA 체결로 인해 약용작물 시장개방의 수입증가는 위협요인으로 작용할 것이다. 그러한 측면에서 약용작물을 포함한 농식품산업을 미래 성장 동력산업으로 육성하기 위해서는 종자품종육성과 생산유통기반의 정비와 확충, 산지이용규제 완화 등의 다양한 대책이 마련되어야 한다. 본 연구 결과의 활용방안을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 국가의 약용산업 육성 중장기 전략과 종자관리체계의 구축에 필요한 약용작물의 데이터베이스를 구축하고 향후 개발해야 할 중점기술을 제시해야 한다. 둘째, 우수한 약용작물 품종 개발 및 보급으로 농업생산성을 높여야 한다. 셋째, 약용작물 종자생산 및 보급에 필요한 제도정비가 필요하다. 넷째, 우량종자의 표준화 및 규격화로 약용작물의 생산유통체계를 확립해야 한다. 현재 약용작물의 소비행태는 직접적인 섭취보다 화장품, 의약품, 식품의 형태로 소비되는 패턴으로 바뀌고 있으며 규모가 점점 확대될 것으로 전망된다. 그러므로 향후 약용작물의 생산에서는 이러한 산업화 추세와 변화에 대응한 정책개발과 제도적인 개선이 뒷받침되어야 한다.

Anti-inflammatory Effects of Various Mushrooms in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 Cells

  • Mushrooms have been widely cultivated and consumed as foods and herbal medicines owing to their various biological properties. However, few studies have evaluated the anti-inflammatory effects of mushrooms. Here, we investigated the effects of mushroom extracts (MEs) on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced inflammation in macrophages (RAW264.7 cells). First, we extracted MEs with either water or ethanol. Using LPS-treated RAW264.7 cells, we measured cell proliferation and NO production. Gene expression of tumor necrosis $factor-{\alpha}$ ($TNF-{\alpha}$), interleukin (IL)-6 (IL-6), and $IL-1{\beta}$ was assessed by RT-PCR, and protein abundance of inducible NO synthase (iNOS) and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) and phosphorylation of p65 were determined by immunoblotting. MEs prepared using both water and ethanol inhibited LPS-induced inflammation in RAW264.7 cells. Nitric oxide (NO) levels induced by LPS were reduced by treatment with MEs. Isaria japonica Yasuda water extracts and Umbilicaria esculenta (Miyoshi) Minks ethanol extracts significantly decreased the mRNA expression of inflammation-related cytokine genes including $TNF-{\alpha}$, IL-6, and $IL-1{\beta}$. Similarly, the protein abundance of iNOS and COX-2 was also decreased. The phosphorylation of p65, a subunit of nuclear $factor-{\kappa}B$ was at least partly suppressed by MEs. This study suggests that mushrooms could be included in the diet to prevent and treat macrophage-related chronic immune diseases.

  • 약용 식물 자원은 천연 화장품 소재, 제약 산업 그리고 인간의 건강을 위한 기능성 식품의 개발로 확대 된 이후 중요한 자산이 되고 있다. 그러나 세계적으로 약용 식물의 명칭을 각각 다르게 표기하고 있으며 계통 발생학적 기원이 명확하지 않다는 단점을 지니고 있다. 이 때문에 소비자들은 매우 큰 혼란을 겪고 있으며 특히 형태학적으로 유사한 식물의 말린 뿌리로 유통될 때에는 전문가들도 그들의 기원을 구별하기가 매우 어렵다. 이러한 이유때문에 이처럼 광범위하고 다양한 작물의 기원을 식별하기 위해 분자표지 기법을 적용하여 활용되고 있다. 이 리뷰에서 본 연구자들은 Angelica종의 분화에 관한 적합한 '기원정립'을 위한 현재의 연구 성과들을 정리했다. 결론적으로 Angelica종의 식별을 위해 개발된 분자적 연구에 대해 설명하고 약용작물의 유전체 정보를 활용하여 그들의 기원정립 및 판별에 대해 논의할 것이다.

Medicinal food로 활용하기 위한 산사(山査)에 관한 연구(2) - 산사발효액이 고지방식이에 있어 지질 대사 개선에 미치는 기능성 평가 - (Study of Crataegi Fructus for Medicinal Foods Applications - Functional Evaluation of Fermented Liquid on the Lipid Profile Improvement High Fat Diet -)

  • The study was performed by examining the effects of fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus on the lipid profile improvement in rats fed high fat diets. Sprague-Dawley rats of weighting $180.0{\pm}30g$ were randomly divided into five groups : basal diet (Normal control group, NCG), only high fat diet (High fat control group, HFC), high fat diet and supplemented with 1.69 mg/100 g body weight, 3.38 mg/100 g body weight, 6.76 mg/100 g body weight by fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus - HFL, HFM, HFH group). These experimental diets were fed for 6 weeks. The fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus fed groups had more significantly decreased in the levels of serum total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol and atherogenic index than the high fat control group, while the HDL-cholesterol was higher when compared to the normal control group. Total lipid, total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol contents in liver were decreased in high fat experimental groups. But the degree of increment was reduced by administration of fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus. while the fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus fed group had ore significantly increased in the level of HDL-cholesterol than the high fat control group. The singularity of the unsaturated fatty acid contents attracted our attention. Especially, the polyunsaturated fatty acid compositions were 36.36%, 34.70%, 20.31%in serum, liver and fecal of fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus fed groups, respectively. These results imply that the fermented liquid of Crataegi Fructus can be used as possible food resources and medicinal food materials.
