An Experimental Study on the Stochastic Control of a Flexible Structural System (유연한 구조물의 확률론적 제어에 대한 실험적 연구)

  • Newly developed control methodology applied to dynamic system under random disturbance is investigated and its performance is verified experimentall. Flexible cantilever beam sticked with piezofilm sensor and piezoceramic actuator is modelled in physical domain. Dynamic moment equation for the system is derived via Ito's stochastic differential equation and F-P-K equation. Also system's characteristics in stochastic domain is analyzed simultaneously. LQG controller is designed and used in physical and stochastic domain as wall. It is shown experimentally that randomly excited beam on the base is controlled effectively by designed LQG controller in physical domain. By comparing the result with that of LQG controller designed in stochastic domain, it is shown that new control method, what we called $\ulcorner$Heo-stochastic controller design technique$\lrcorner$, has better performance than conventional ones as a controller.

  • This paper consider the control for the vehicle suspension system using electro-rheological damper. The study is performed by using of FLC(Fuzzy Logic Controller). The model used in the simulation is quarter car and the road disturbance is regarded as white noise random process with zero mean. Proposed control technique shows good agreement compared with the result from the conventional on-off/bang-bang type control technique.

  • A control strategy for random parametic system by using FLC is investigated and developed. In the course of research, as a first part, nonlinear system under random disturbance is investigated. Preliminary results is presented in the paper. A control technique, GA based FLC, is employed successfully for inverted pendulum experiencing white noise excitation.

  • Variable Structure Controller with effective tracking performance is propose to control micro actuator system. Propsed VSC(Variable Structure Control) technique is implemented to tracking control of comb driving system having high non-linearity. The tracking performance due to VSC technique is compared to conventional PD(Proportional Derivative) control technique, reveals improved results.

In order to design stochastic controller. system dynamic model in real domain is transformed dynamic moment equation in stochastic domain by F-P-K approach.   • In this paper, a synchronization control technique of dual-servo motor driven press system is proposed. An independent cascade PID control technique has been applied to the conventional press system for advancement of control stability. However, it is not easy to reduce synchronous error using the independent cascade PID control technique when some different load disturbances are involved in each motor. The eccentric error of the slide caused by the problem degrade the control performance of the BDC(Bottom Dead Center). In order to achieve reduction of the synchronous error between two servo motors and accurate position control simultaneously, a new control scheme comprised with cascade PID control loop and cross-coupling loop is proposed. In simulation using Matlab SIMULINK, the AC servo system is designed. The control performance of proposed technique is compared with conventional control technique to the model of AC servo system. Also, the sub-scale model of dual-servo motor driven press system which can replicate the slide motion is constructed for experimental verification for the performance of the proposed control technique. The cross-coupling control technique reveals more precise and stable performances in the position and synchronization controls.

  • In DC distribution systems, a TAB converter employing multiple transformers is one of the most widely used topologies due to its high power density, modularizability, and cost-effectiveness. However, the conventional control technique for a grid-connected mode in the TAB converter cannot maintain its reliability for an islanding mode under a blackout situation. In this paper, the islanding mode control technique is proposed to solve this issue. To verify the relative stability and dynamic characteristics of the control technique, small-signal models of both the grid connected and the islanding mode are derived. Based on the small-signal models, PI controllers are designed to provide suitable power control. The proposed control technique, the accuracy of small-signal models, and the performance of the controllers are verified by simulations and experiments with a 1-kW prototype TAB converter.
