A Study on the Interrelation of Architectural Composition and Type of Windows and Doors of the Main Buddhist Halls in Chosun Dynasty (조선시대 불전의 건축적구성과 창호형식의 관련성 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the interrelation of architectural composition and type of windows and doors in Korean traditional architecture. Windows and doors type, in Korean traditional architecture, is one of the important element which used to playa great role in building's physical fasade, so that used to subjected the building as a whole. In this study, the investigations on the totally 88 Korean Buddhist Temples are made, and the analysis are made according to the physical size of buildings (length and height of JUGAN), composition of JUGAN, and existence of RUGAK. The result of this study indicates that there are outstanding typical differences of traditional windows and doors in advance to variation in the physical size of building, though there are numerous interrelation between typical differences of traditional windows and doors and composition of building as a whole.

Characteristics of Mesoscale Circulation with the Detailed Building Distribution in Busan Metropolitan Area (부산지역 빌딩 분포 상세화에 따른 중규모 순환 특성)

  • In order to clarify the impacts of thermal difference in atmospheric boundary layer due to the different sophistication of building information in Busan metropolitan areas, several numerical simulations were carried out. ACM (Albedo Calculation Model) and WRF (Weather Research and Forecasting) was applied for estimating albedo and meteorological elements in urban area, respectively. In comparison with coarse aggregated and small buildings, diurnal variation of albedo is highly frequent and its total value tend to be smaller in densely aggregated and tall buildings. Estimated TKE and sensible heat flux with sophisticatedly urban building parameterization is more resonable and valid values are mainly induced by urban building sophistication. The simulation results suggest that decreased albedo and increased roughness due to skyscraper plays an important role in the result of thermal change in atmospheric boundary layer.

  • This study concerns the strength of concrete cores drilled from existing structures. The test factors are core size, drilled position of core, concrete age and concrete strength. The test results are as follows; (1) Under the filled condition of curing, concrete strength for three years are larger than that of 28 days by $15\~20\%$ (2) According to the core size effect from diameter of 75mm to 150mm , the variation of core strength are by $8\~18\%$ (3) According to the wall height of 1m, the strength of lower point of wall is than larger that of the upper point by $5\~20\%$. (4) In Accessing the core strength of concrete as a basis, the effect of core size and drilling position should be considered.

  • The small height to depth ratio column dominated by shear after tension steel yielded and the energy dissipation capacity reduce remarkably due to the affection of axial force. This procedure incur in the plastic hinge region and not in all of the region at the same time but from somewhere where the energy was concentrated. This study was reported about the variation of length of the plastic hinge under cyclic loading of the RC columns through the test.

3차원 표면효과익의 자유표면 효과에 관한 수치연구

  • A three-dimensional WIG (Wing In Ground effect) moving above free surface is numerically studied by means of finite difference techniques. The air flow field around the WIG is analyzed by MAC (Marker & Cell) method, and interactions between WIG and the free surface are appeared as the variation of pressure distribution acting on the free surface. To analyze the wavemaking phenomena by those pressure distributions, the NS (Navier-Stokes) solver is employed in which nonlinearities of the free surface conditions can be included. Through the numerical simulation, Cp values and lift/drag ratio are carefully reviewed by changing the height/chord ratio. The section shape of model is NACA0012 with the span/chord ratio of 3.0. Through computational results, it is confirmed that the effect of free surface is small enough to treat it as a rigid wavy wall.

  • Arc sensor gives important groove information during welding. Automatic seam tracking control system with arc sensor has significant characteristics such that bead formation is given as decentralization of penetration and formation of concave bead profile and that a turning point of transverse weaving with constant arc length control is decided whether or not torch height reaches to a specified setting level. Furthermore, the rotating action of the arc prevents hanging of weld bead and forms flat bead surface under high speed welding condition. The variation of groove and deposition area can be detected from the trace of weaving. The area and width of weaving trace has close correlation with the area of groove and deposition.   • The manufacture of children's wear is another part of the giant industry. However, the production of children's wear remains a small factory operation without scientific study. This study is aimed at establishing the normal sizes for slacks pattern making of 6∼8 years old children. The sample were classified into 5 groups of stature. The findings are as follows: 1) In analysis of stature group 110∼115cm to 130∼135cm there were almost significant differences of the mean values of all items. Comparison of physique shows even variation between stature group. 2) The correlation among all the parts of the body is strong in the case of the Stature. 3) The result of regression analysis is as follows. In slacks pattern making Back Waist Height and Slacks Length were exactly determined by Stature. Waist to Knee were exactly determined by Slacks Length.

  • The objective of the study is to improve the quality of wheel bearing hub by the rigid-plastic finite element analysis and the response surface methodology. The rigid-plastic finite element codes, AFDEX-2D and DEFORM-3D, were used to analyze the two-dimensional and three-dimensional forging processes, respectively. The response surface analysis is used to find the minimum underfill by the variation of design variables such as the height of billet after upsetting and punch angles of blocker dies. The metal flow of forged product shows good agreement with the results from 2D and 3D analysis. Also, the quality of the wheel bearing hub has been improved by the optimization of design variables and the machining time has been reduced by the machining allowance.

  • This paper is concerned with the orthotropic problem of diaphragm-type air springs which consist of rubber linings, nylon reinforced rubber composite and bead ring. The analysis is carried out with a finite element method developed to consider the orthotropic properties, geometric nonlinearity using four-node degenerated shell element with reduced integration. Physical stabilization scheme is used to control the zeroenergy mode of the element. The analysis includes an inflation analysis and a lateral analysis of an air spring for the deformed shape and the spring load with respect to the vertical and l ateral deflection. Numerical results demonstrate the variation of the outer diameter, the fold height, the vertical force and the lateral force with respect to the inflation pressure and the lateral deflection.

  • It is widely recognized that train Is one of the most efficient and convenient ways for passenger and freight transportation. However, the environmental noise problem is occurred with the construction and service of train. The noise problems caused by train prevent people from living in a silent environment. Furthermore, this problem is related with the right to preserve one's environment. The objectives of this research are train noise measurement and analysis which might be a base-study for prediction of train noise. This paper mainly deals with the noise of the 'Semaul' train. The train noise shows distinct characteristics according to the variation of height and distance. Furthermore, the database and its interface program are developed for systematic analysis and future research.
