A cabinet-door integrated finite element model was constructed for a built-in side-by-side refrigerator with an ice dispenser, and its deformation was analyzed using the ANSYS finite element software. As loads, the food load needed to fill in the cabinet and doors and the thermal load occurring during normal operation conditions were taken into consideration. The door height difference (DHD) and door flatness difference (DFD) between the two doors of the freezing and refrigerating compartments were derived. The DHD and DFD under the assembled condition without applied loads satisfied the acceptance criteria specified by the refrigerator manufacturer. It appeared that the food load increases the DFD slightly. The thermal load tends to increase the differences because of the thermal deformation, especially the DFD, of the cabinet and doors.
Purpose: This study compared the major parent's height and life style between short and tall stature groups of students attending the elementary schools. Methods: Data were collected during the period of 5 to 24, November 2007 at the fifth and sixth grades of the five elementary schools. Two groups were selected on the basis of the guideline titled 'Growth Standard for Infants and Juveniles in 2007': Tall group of 232 students whose height was greater than 75 percentile and short group of 227 students was less than 25 percentile. Results: The average height was 137.9 cm for short group and 155.3 cm for tall group. The results of the logistic analysis implied that parent's height was related with odds ratio equal to 1.141 for father's height and 1.145 for mother height. Analysis of the eating habit, there was no significant difference observed between the two groups. While The two group showed a statistically significant difference in their physical activity. Conclusion: There is the necessity for guidance and health education program about the proper life style.
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of different heel height on the electromyographic (EMG) activity in Rectus abdominis (RA) and Erector spinae (ES) during gait activity. Methods : A repeated measures design was used. 33 healthy females carried out a standardized gait activity under 3 conditions; with heel wedges of 1, 7, and 12cm in height. EMG activity was recorded from RA and ES during the activity. Data was analysed using the repeated one-way ANOVA. Results : First, as the shoe-heel height was getting higher, change of muscle activation indicated the statistically significant difference in rectus abdominis(p<0.05). Second, as the shoe-heel height was getting higher, change of muscle activation indicated the statistically significant difference in erector spinae(p<0.05). Conclusion : We found that as heel height increased, there was an increase in EMG activity in both RA and ES. This indicated that no RA : ES imbalance was elicited. This study provides information that will inform future research on how heel height affects muscle activity around the trunk.

Two-phase flow in a combustion chamber is experimentally analyzed according to the five different conditions in the Reynolds numbers of $1.02{\times}10^4$. As the height difference between the primary and secondary jets increases, the secondary has a little less effect on the primary one in the case on the same height difference, the primary jet is affects as the velocity of th secondary on increase. The primary-jet flow field cause the particle concentration since is controlled by the velocity of secondary jet, the height difference, and the angle of primary jet in the test section.
Purpose : To evaluate the magnification error percentage in repeatedly taken panoramic radiographs of same patient and machine. Materials and Methods : 92 panoramic radiographs from 46 patients were traced and 30 horizontal and vertical measurements were made with digital sliding caliper. The results were compared with paired t-test. Results : There was no statistically significant difference between the two measurements. The overall difference as percentage error was $6.19\pm5.60\%$. The largest error as $14.61\pm12.44\%$ was found at condylar height 1, and smallest as $1.86\pm1.61\%$ at mandibular height. Overall vertical error excluding condylar height 1 was $3.76\pm3.97\%$, and the horizontal error $6.88\pm5.92\%$. Conclusion . Repeatedly taken panoramic radiographs of the same patient and machine was reliable since there was no significant percentage error difference but the percentage error ranged from $1.86\pm1.61\%\;to\;14.61\pm12.44\%$ indicating the error depends on the measuring site.
This paper deals with the issue of door height difference (DHD) which occurs for SBS refrigerator necessarily. In order to identify the cause of DHD, analysis of refrigerator structure and entire process from door manufacturing to usage have been investigated. From diverse experiments, it was found that the flatness of the floor was a main causing factor. In order to decrease the DHD , the effects of 6 design parameters to control of cabinet deformation have been investigated by using DOE(design of experiment) and finite element analysis. Based on the correlation equation, it was possible to estimate the DHD for new refrigerator design.

Two-phase flow in a combustion chamber is experimentally analyzed according to the five different conditions in the Reynolds number of $1.02{\times} 10^4$ As the height difference between the primary and secondary jets increases the secondary has a little effect on the primary. In the case of the same height difference the primary jet is affected as the velocity of secondary increases. The primary-jet flow field causes the particle concentration since the particle stagnation phenomena appear in the recirculation zone. The particle concentration is controlled by the velocity of secondary jet the height difference and the angle of primary jet in the test section.
In this study, a visual sensor system which can detect I-butt weld joint with height variation and includes a seam tracking algorithm was investigated. Three-dimensional position of an object can be acquired by using the method of distance measurement, i.e., an optical trigonometry which results from the spatial relations between the camera, the object and the structured light by a visible laser. Effects of laser intensity and iris number for the image quality as well as object material were investigated for the optical system design. For the image processing, a region of interest is defined from the whole image and a line image of laser is drew by using the gray level difference in the image. From the drew laser line, the weld joint can be recognized in searching the biggest point position calculated from the central difference method. Through a series of welding experiments, a good tracking performance was confirmed under GMA welding.
A field study was conducted to assess the preferred height and the range of discomfort recognition of school desks and chairs for students from elementary school to high school. For this study 43 male subjects and 44 female subjects in Taejon area were surveyed. The result shows that the preferred height of chairs is about 1.7cm higher than the popliteal sitting height, while the preferred height of desks shows no significant difference with the elbow sitting height which is known to be the ergonomically proper desk height. The threshold value between comfort and discomfort recognition of chair height is 1.88cm below the most prefeered height and 1.79cm about it. The threshold value between comfort and discomfort recognition of desk height is 1.76cm below the most prefeered height and 2.62cm about it.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: In nutritional epidemiology, collecting self-reported respondent height and weight is a simpler procedure of data collection than taking measurements. The aim of this study was to compare self-reported and measured height and weight and to evaluate the possibility of using self-reported estimates in the assessment of nutritional status of elderly Poles aged 65 + years. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The research was carried out in elderly Poles aged 65 + years. Respondents were chosen using a quota sampling. The total sample numbered 394 participants and the sub-sample involved 102 participants. Self-reported weight (non-corrected self-reported weight; non-cSrW) and height estimates (non-corrected self-reported height; non-cSrH) were collected. The measurements of weight (measured weight; mW) and height (measured height; mH) were taken. Using multiple regression equations, the corrected self-reported weight (cSrW) and height (cSrH) estimates were calculated. RESULTS: Non-cSrH was higher than mH in men on average by 2.4 cm and in women on average by 2.3 cm. In comparison to mW, non-cSrW was higher in men on average by 0.7 kg, while in women no significant difference was found (mean difference of 0.4 kg). In comparison to mBMI, non-cSrBMI was lower on average by $0.6kg/m^2$ in men and $0.7kg/m^2$ in women. No differences were observed in overweight and obesity incidence when determined by mBMI (68% and 19%, respectively), non-cSrBMI (62% and 14%, respectively), cSrBMI (70% and 22%, respectively) and pcSrBMI (67% and 18%, respectively). CONCLUSIONS: Since the results showed that the estimated self-reported heights, weights and BMI were accurate, the assessment of overweight and obesity incidence was accurate as well. The use of self-reported height and weight in the nutritional status assessment of elderly Poles on a population level is therefore recommended. On an individual level, the use of regression equations is recommended to correct self-reported height, particularly in women.
