Challenges and Strategies for Commissioning of FLNG

  • After the construction of offshore plants, the function and integrity of system in offshore plants should be commissioned. As the executor of many FLNG projects, Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd has faced some challenges for commissioning which are not similar to those in other offshore project. This study shows the differences between the commissioning of typical offshore projects and the one of FLNG projects. By the characteristics of offshore, performing the commissioning activity of FLNG near shipyard as much as possible reduces the risk of malfunction. The possible solutions to achieve these strategies are introduced.

  • It is expected to reduce stresses to components of high voltage circuit breaker and transferred switching surge from power system by applying controlled switching technique to high voltage system. This technique has at ready been applied in advanced countries. In this paper, basic principle of controlled switching technique is set up and a device to realize this technique is under developing. Controlled switching device will be improved by applying a method minimizing errors of operating time and by adopting compensation function relative to changes of ambient/operating condition.

Estimation of Bubble Behavior and PD Initiation Voltage in the Simulated Electrode System of High Temperature Superconducting Coils (고온초전도코일 모의전극계에서 기포거동 및 부분방전개시전압의 추정)

  • This paper deals with the numerical estimation of the bubble behavior and the partial discharge(PD) initiation voltage basis of electric field calculation with the coaxial coil layer-to-cylindrical electrode system for the simulation of high temperature superconducting coils. The theoretical results of bubble behavior and the PD initiation voltages showed fairly good agreements with the experimental results.

  • 본 논문은 전력 품질개선장치인 DVR(Dynamic Voltage Restorer)시스템의 제어알고리즘 개발에 관한 것이다. DVR은 배전전계통에 직렬변압기를 통해 설치되어 전원의 순간전압강하(Voltage sag)를 보상하는 장치이며 전력변환장치 직렬변압기 에너지저장장치, 충전장치, 보호장치등으로 구성된다. 지락사고, 비선형부하의 순간투입, 뇌서지등 여러 요인에 의해 3상전원에서 발생하는 다양한 형태의 전압sag 보상이 가능한 제어알고리즘 모델을 제시하고 컴퓨터시뮬레이션을 통해 기본성능을 확인한 후 소형 DVR을 제작해 시험하였으며 이시험결과를 실 용량 DVR시제품의 설계에 이용하였다.

  • An Inspection system, composed of sensor head and controller, is presented which is a 3-D laser vision system using principles of optical triangulation for weld quality and chamfer quality. The sensor head id composed of laser diode, micro CCD camera, filter and several optical components. This systems can be used in welding bead and undercut inspection and chamfer quality inspection as well. It is mech more convenient to use and the inspection time is to be greatly shortened compared with conventional inspection method. Furthermore, data saved in controller can be used for statistics afterwards. This system has been begin used in Koje Shipyard of Samsung Heavy Industries and the need is being increased.

  • This paper describes a design of a single phase PWM converter for high speed train. Parallel operation and control method of four Quadrant PWM converters are described. Simulation and modelling of the converters is performed. Capacity of the converter/inverter and power circuit for high speed traction system designed. And harmonic contents of AC line current's are analyzed. The results of the simulation are presented.

  • GIS 예방진단 시스템을 현장에 적용할 경우 예상치 못한 노이즈와 전기외란으로 예측 일치율에 저하가 발생한다. 본 논문에서는 각 현장에 설치된 온라인 GIS예방진단 시스템의 기록정보를 받아들여 새롭게 학습을 시킴으로써 현장 적응형 진단을 구축할 수 있는 방안을 제시한다. 또한 현장의 각종 노이즈 패턴도 학습시킴으로써 진단엔진의 성능향상을 도모한다.
