  • We have developed the external-type PD sensors for detecting of the electromagnetic waves up to ultra high frequency (UHF) bands, propagating in various type of GIS. Sufficiently high sensitivity and accuracy for practical use were achieved for the external PD sensor. The experience at the fields and the criteria for the judgment are also discussed in detail.

  • 기존의 단방향 차단기 소전류 차단성능 해석에서는 해석의 편의를 위해 실제 차단기의 고정부(고정아크접점과 피스톤)를 움직이게 하고 가동부(퍼퍼 실린더 노즐 등)를 고정시켜 놓고 해석을 하였다. 기존 차단기에서는 이런 식으로 해석을 하여도 아무런 문제가 발생하지 않았으나 이번 당사 모델인 550kV 50kA 1점절 차단기는 차단성능 향상을 위해 양방향으로 구동이 이루어지고 있어서 기존 방식으로 해석을 하는 것이 거의 불가능하다. 따라서 이번 연구에서는 상용프로그램인 PHOENICS를 이용하여 실제 차단기와 마찬가지로 가동부가 움직이도록 모의하는 방법을 개발하여 550kV 1점절 차단기의 소전류 차단성능을 평가하였으며, 앞으로 개발될 모든 복잡한 형태의 차단기도 쉽게 해석할 수 있는 계기를 마련하였다.

  • The electric power, regenerated while railway vehicles braking or running downhill, makes U line voltage rise and the feeding system may not be secure. In order to keep away from these kind of insecurity, the regenerative energy should be consumed by loads or transmitted to the AC side via certain devices such as DC/AC converters. This paper introduces the developed regenerative inverter for electric railway.

  • In shipbuilding process, automated marking systems are used to print steel part information on the steel plate. Especially, an automated marking system with a moving ink-head prints characters on each block, which divide the steel plate into a fixed size. Therefore it is necessary to split characters, because some characters can be extended into several blocks. Particularly the algorithm, which splits characters, must guarantee its printing quality in any direction since characters can be printed by any angle.

  • Many countries are concentrating on the development of electric vehicle technology with increasing concerns about the global environment. Along with these concerns, plug-in hybrid electric vehicles(PHEVs) are being developed as environment-friendly cars which reduce greenhouse gas emissions and also eliminate the problem of range anxiety associated to all-electric vehicles, because the combustion engine works as a backup when the batteries are depleted. In this paper, electric equipments of the PHEV which meet the target specifications were developed, and their performance was proven through confirmatory testing on the PHEV at Korea Automotive Technology Institute(KATECH).

  • In this paper, the RC filter for mitigating the output overvoltage of the 3-level 3300V 4MW inverter is described. The descriptions on power circuit and overvoltage phenomena are presented. The output transformer which may be used to obtain the higher output voltage, makes the filter design difficult because the parameter measurements are not easy and the accuracy may be poor. So, this paper presents several preliminary results on the output overvoltage with or without transformer to investigate the overall system characteristics. Some experimental results are also provided when the designed filter is applied.

  • This paper presents on capacity design of DC-fed-traction system. The system is introduced including a characteristics of train, feeding network configuration, and design method of substation arrangements. Optimal design procedures is described, and program for capacity computation of the system is presented using the nodal equation, K.C.L, K.V.L, Ohm's law and superposition theory. For the proof of the proposed algorithm, we accomplished the simulation of DC traction system for HA-Nam LRT. By considering whole component in DC traction system the conclusion will be much precise.
