To verify the color change in dried laver postproduction during the heating process, chromaticity elements were compared via a spectrophotometer across various heating conditions within the visible light spectrum. In general, the moisture reduction rate increased with rising temperature and time. Surface image comparisons revealed an expanded area of light reflection on the heat-treated dried laver sample due to surface roughening from shrinkage. No statistically significant differences in chromaticity values were observed in the measurements of brightness (L*), redness (a*), and yellowness (b*). Reflectance spectrum measurements in the visible light region confirmed high reflectance under red wavelength conditions. In particular, a significant increase in reflectance at 700 nm compared with untreated samples was noted. The correlation between the increase in 700 nm reflectance of dried laver samples and heating conditions ranged from 0.7471 to 0.7793, suggesting its potential use as an indicator for comparing color changes in dried laver based on heating conditions.
We have previously observed that Bambusae Caul is in Liquamen (BCL) stimulates the adipose conversion of 3T3-L1 cells and molecular chaperones were involved in the process of the assembly and replacement of laminin subunits in Bovine aortic endothelial cells(BAEC). Endothelial cells are exposed to continuous shear stress due to the blood flow. Heat shock protens(hsp) are a well-known stress response protein, namely, stress proteins. To investigate effects of BCL on the stress proteins induced by heating in endothelial cells, we have analyzed synthetic amounts of stress proteins in sodium dodecyl sulfate gel electrophoresis under reducing conditions. Under the condition of heating stress, BCL inhibited the synthesis of stress proteins in endothelial cells. These results suggest that BCL may have an important role for expression of stress proteins induced by heating in endothelial cells.
This study evaluated the convenience and heating performance of 4 heated vests on the market through a trial of the vests. Participants were four healthy men who wore the garments outside in cold temperatures typical of the garments' real conditions of use. As the results, all the participants preferred the product, having an easily operable controller in ergonomic aspects and the good insulation for keeping the body temperature. The heating performance of vests was the most important factor in selecting the best product in this test. Indeed, the vests themselves found not to be sufficiently warm in the experimental condition. Thus, heated vests with the enhanced heating performance should be developed so that temperatures in the allowed range can be safely accessed.
This study represents numerical analysis in top opening rectangular with a heating source. The governing equations were solved by a finite volume method, a SIMPLE algorithm was adopted to solve a pressure term. The top boundary with free surface was calculated by energy balance condition. As the results of simulations, the magnitudes of the velocity vectors and isotherms were very small at the lower space of a heating source. The mean Nusselt numbers are increased proportionally to the Grashof number, the heat transfer at Y/H=0.25 was greater than other positions.
A numerical study has been performed to investigate the thermal Performance of Solar heating system with baffle type of storage tank by using the commercial code TRNSYS. As a result, the solar fraction depends strongly on the efficiency and heat loss coefficient of solar collector as well as the heating capacity of house and the water temperature supplied to the shower. In addition, the solar fraction has been basically ranked to higher level in baffle type of storage tank than typical type of single storage tank for the range of operation condition.
Response surface methodology(RSM) was applied to determine the optimum heating conditions(tem-perature and time) for the inactivation of bacteria associated with food hygiene. Coefficients of determinations(R2) for the cell growth were 0.9155(P<0.05) in Pseudomonas aeruginosa 0.8997(P<0.05) in Escherichia coli 0.9690(P<0.01) in Salmonella typhimurium 0.9393(P<0.05) in Enterobacter aerogenes and 0.7905 in Vibrio parahaemolyticus. The growth of strains was significantly affected by the temperature and time and reaction to temperature was most closely correlated to the inhibition of growth. On the basis of superimposed contour maps of cell growth the optimum range of heating conditions were 55.62-6$0^{\circ}C$ and 19.25-30 min.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the current status and influence factor in measuring the dynamic stiffness of damping materials. The property of the dynamic stiffness of damping materials was tested and analysed in condition such as the size of test samples and the change of relative humidity in heating chamber. Test results showed that the dynamic stiffness of after-heating was lower than that of before-heating in most samples and the change of relative humidity in heating chamber got little influence of the dynamic stiffness. The resonant frequency of test sample decreased $2{\sim}7Hz$ as the decrease of the size of sample. Because it was increased that total mass per unit area of sample, the change of dynamic stiffness had little influence.
The energy crisis is culminating for the life of the fossil fuel in the future which is come to end at $30{\sim}40$ years. Moreover above 90% of the energy in our country depend on importing and the crisis is more seγious than it of other countries. So architects devote low energy house research and it means underground space research have become public opinion. But there is not an accurate and utility method calculating the heating load of underground space. In this study it is proposed that the heating load is calculated by setting adiabatic thichness of soil and predicting underground temperature. The prediction of the underground temperature is calculated by the latitude, the level, the distance from sea, the condition of earth surface.
Cooling and heating equipments of railroad passenger cabin is one of the most important part in keeping the good thermal comfort of the passengers. The bad performance of these equipments usually results in the comfort of the passengers. However, there is no testing method for cooling and heating equipments during manufacturing the passenger car, and calculation method is frequently used. Many railroad operators spend a lot of money for the maintenance. In this study, a new environmental performance test for railroad passenger cabin was suggested. The temperature of the chamber will be changed from $-40^{\circ}C$ to $60^{\circ}C$. The performance test of cooling and heating equipment in controlling the passenger cabin temperature was carried out under various temperature condition. The testing method to investigate the effect of artificial sunlight irradiation on the passenger cabin temperature was also suggested.
Anaerobic digestion system is getting more attractive in that it produces biogas in the process of organic waste stabilization. Net energy production is important when biogas production is concerned. In this study, net energy production was evaluated with respect to biogas production and heat losses in a hypothetical digester. Under the condition of digester operation with slurry inflow of 5% of TS, additional fuel is required to maintain digester temperature during the winder season. Substrate therefore, needs to have higher VS contents through co-digestion of silage or food waste that has greater values of methane production rate. Heating input slurry is important in cold season, which covers over 80% of heating requirement. Heat recovery from digestate is valuable to reduce the use of biogas for heating. It seems desirable to minimize slurry inflow when temperature is very low. Psychrophilic digestion may be a feasible option for reducing heating requirement.
