In this study, to improve the accuracy of forecast of heat demand in the district heating system, this study applied heat demand performance among the main factors of district heating demand forecast in Pankyo area as the heat sales information of the user facility instead of existing heat source facility heat supply information, and compared the existing method with the accuracy based on the actual value. As a result of comparing the difference of the forecasts values of the existing and changed methods based on the performance values over the one week (2018.01.08 ~ 01.14) during the hot water peak, the relative error decreased from 7% to 3% The relative error between the existing and revised forecasts was 9% and 4%, respectively, for the five-month cumulative heat demand from February to February 2018, Also, in case of the weekend where the demand of heat is differentiated, the relative error of the forecasts value is consistently reduced from 10% to 5%.

Copper sheets has been used widely in electric and electron industry fields because they have good electric and heat conduction property of the material. And, in order to bond copper material, a kind of soldering process is generally used. But, because it is difficult to bond by soldering between overlapped thin copper sheets, so, another kind of brazing bonding process can be used in that case. But, because the brazing process needs wide bonding area, it needs heat treatment process in electric furnace. Generally, for spot welding of sheets, a conventional electric Resistance Spot Welding process(RSW) has been used, it has welding characteristics using contact resistance heating induced by electric current flow between sheets. But, because copper sheets has the low electric resistance, it is difficult to weld by electric resistance spot welding. So, in this study, an electric Resistance heated Surface Friction Spot Welding process(RSFSW) is suggested and is testified for the spot welding ability of thin copper sheets. It is known from the experimental results and simulation that the suggested spot welding process will be able to improve the spot welding ability of copper sheets by the combined three kinds of heating generated by surface friction by rotating pin, and conducted from heated steel electrode, and generated by contact resistance of electricity.

Cr-Si based alloys are not only excellent in corrosion resistance at high temperatures, but also have good wear resistance due to the formation of Cr3Si phase, therefore they are promising as metallic coating materials. Aluminum is often added to Cr-Si alloys to improve the oxidation resistance through which stable alumina surface film is formed. On the other hand, due to the addition of aluminum, various Al-containing phases may be formed and may negatively affect the heat resistance of the Cr-Si-Al alloys, so detailed investigation is required. In this study, two Cr-Si-Al alloys (high-Si & high-Al) were prepared in the form of cast ingots through a vacuum arc melting process and the microstructural changes after high temperature heating process were investigated. In the case of the cast high-Si alloy, a considerable amount of Cr3Si phase was formed, and its hardness was significantly higher than that of the cast high-Al alloy. Also, Al-rich phases (with the high Al/Cr ratio) were not found much compared to the high-Al alloy. Meanwhile, it was observed that the amount of the Al-rich phases reduced by the annealing heat treatment for both alloys. In the case of the high temperature heating at 1,400 ℃, no significant microstructural change was observed in the high Si alloy, but a little more coarse and segregated AlCr phases were found in the high Al alloy compared to the cast state.

In Korea, attention is being paid to the use of renewable energy in the livestock industry, and Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP), which is advantageous for temperature control, is considered as one of the ways to reduce the use of fossil fuels. But GSHP is expensive to install, which proper capacity calculation is required. GSHP capacity is related to its maximum energy load. Energy loads are affected by climate characteristics and time, so dynamic analysis is required. In this study, the optimal capacity of GSHP was calculated by calculating the heating and cooling load of pig farms using BES (Building Energy Simulation) and economic analysis was performed. After designing the inside of the pig house using TRNSYS, one of the commercial programs of the BES technique, the energy load was calculated based on meteorological data. Through the calculated energy load, three heating devices and GSHP used in pig farms were analyzed for economic feasibility. As a result, GSHP's total cost of ownership was the cheapest, but the installation cost was the highest. In order to reduce the initial cost of GSHP, the capacity of GSHP was divided, and a scenario was created in which some of it was used as an auxiliary heating device, and economic analysis was conducted. In this study, a method to calculate the proper capacity of GSHP through dynamic energy analysis was proposed, and it can be used as data necessary to expand the spread of GSHP.

The High-flux Advanced Neutron Application Reactor (HANARO) produces radioisotopes (RIs) (131I, 192Ir, etc.) through neutron irradiation on various RI production targets. Among them, 177Lu and 166Ho are particularly promising owing to their theranostic characteristics that facilitate simultaneous diagnosis and treatment. Prior to neutron irradiation, evaluating the nuclear heating of the RI production target is essential for ensuring the thermal-hydraulic safety of HANARO. In this study, the feasibility of producing 177Lu and 166Ho using irradiation holes of HANARO was investigated in terms of thermal-hydraulic safety. The nuclear heating rates of the RI production target by prompt and delayed radiation were calculated using MCNP6. The calculated nuclear heating rates were used as an input parameter in COMSOL Multiphysics to obtain the temperature distribution in an irradiation hole. The degree of temperature increase of the 177Lu and 166Ho production targets satisfied the safety criteria of HANARO. The nuclear heating rates and temperature distribution obtained through the in silico study are expected to provide valuable insight into the production of 177Lu and 166Ho using HANARO.
The thermo-acoustic emission (AE) technique has been applied for nondestructive characterization of composite laminates subjected to cryogenic cooling. Thermo-AE events during heating and cooling cycles showed a Kaiser effect. An analysis of the thermo-AE behavior obtained during the 1st heating period suggested a method for determining the stress-free temperature of the composite laminates. Three different thermo-AE types classified by a short-time Fourier transform of AE signals enabled to offer a nondestructive estimation of the cryogenic damages of the composites, in that the different thermo-AE types corresponded to secondary microfracturing in the matrix contacting between crack surfaces and some abrasive contact between broken fiber ends during thermal load cycles.
Since the rigid and continuous networks of high-purity silica(white carbon) were relatively transparent to microwaves, high purity silica coupled with microwaves using a zirconia susceptor at room temperature and it was then heated to its melting temperature. The low-purity silica, contained small amount of impurities, yielded greater microwave absorption owing to easy motion of the interstitial alkali ions and it was then heated to its melting temperature. X-ray diffraction patterns of the low-purity silica were broader than those of the high-purity silica due to higher concentration of non-bridging bond and more deformed random network structure. In the vulcanization process of whitened or coloured rubber compound which is employing low-purity silica(white carbon) as a reinforcing filler, vulcanizate could be obtained effectively by microwave heating energy.

In this paper, we analyzed the effect of the pattern height on the readback signal characteristics of the magnetic nanopillar tops and trench bottoms. In addition, we discuss the applicability of the present method to the production of patterned magnetic media, which can be obtained by depositing magnetic thin films on the molded nanopillars with passive heating. We found that the individual magnetic island deposited on each molded nanopillars with passive heating is a single magnetic domain and confirmed that its magnetization can be successfully reversed by applying an external magnetic field.
An experimental study is performed to investigate the thermal and flow characteristics of subcooled liquid nitrogen in a natural circulation loop. Experimental apparatus is designed and constructed such that a closed loop is cooled at the top by a cryocooler and heated nearly at the bottom by cartridge heaters. Steady state is obtained by controlling the heating power to the cartridge heaters and a thin-film heater to reduce the cooling power of the cryocooler. Temperature is measured at several locations of the loop and the mass flow rate through the loop is estimated from the energy balance in terms of the measured temperatures. Experiment is repeated for various values of the vertical height between the cooling and heating parts. The results show that the heat transfer capability of the loop has a maximum at a certain value of height. The optimal height to maximize the heat transfer is in a good agreement with analytical prediction to take into account the buoyancy and viscous forces in the loop.

The study was designed to revive and suit flour Dasik(Korean traditional cookies) to modern people's taste. The treatments were used according to the ratio of honey and oligosaccharide(H 100, H75:O25, H50:O50, H25:O75, and 0100) and 3 heating methods. In color, the more the honey, the lower the lightness as well as redness. There were no significant differences in sweetness, but the higher the oligosaccharides, the higher the moistness, hardness, cohesiveness and springiness. (omitted)
