In this thesis, I intend to study the translational and clinical interpretation through the theory of Ja-Yeol, and reached the following conclusions. 1. Liver-Heat-Disease due to absess of the function of expelling and lifting off, that Liver-Yang cannot lift up to upper-warmer, and stagnate liver. I think the symptoms of yellowish urine, abdominal pain, somnolence, fever belong to the syndrome of 'Gi-Bun(氣分)', and the symptoms of ravings with surprising, distending pain of hypochondrium, restless involuntary movement of the limbs, unable to lie flat belong to the syndrome of 'Hyeol-Bun(血分)'. 2. Heart-Heat-Disease due that 'Eum-Gi(陰氣)' in heart cannot lay down and reach to stagnate at heart, inner part. I think the symptoms of unjoy, acute cardiac pain, fidgetiness, well-nausea, headeche, reddish face, anhidrosis, etc. reveal with Heart-Heat-Disease. 3. Spleen-Beat-Disease due that 'Eum-Gi' in spleen cannot lay down and Yin of spleen changs heat. I think the symptoms of heaviness of head, cheek pain, fidgetiness, cyanosis, well-nausea, fever, not to let flex and reflex with back pain, diarrhea with abdominal pain, left and right cheek pain reveal with Spleen-Heat-Disease. I think symptoms of fever, diarrhea with abdominal pain belong to the syndrome of Yin-exhausion. 4. Lung-Heat-Disease due to that 'Eum-Gi' in lung cannot lay down. When 'Wi-Gi(衛氣)' stagnates at external part, I think, the symptoms of intolerance to wind and cold, yellowish fur, fever reveal. When Wi-Gi stagnates at lung, inner part, I think, the symptoms of dispnea with cough, pain on chest and back, unable to breath deeply, hydrosis and chilling reveal. 5. Kidney-Heat-Disease, in that the symptoms of back pain, leg aching, extreme thirst and frequently drink, fever, pain and stiffness of nape, cooling and aching leg, heat on plantar pedis, not trying to speak reveal is regarded external heat disease of 'Tai-Yang-Gyeong's(太陽經)' disease that asthenic fever open 'Tai-Yang-Gyeong' and lift by not enough of 'Yang-Gi(陽氣)' lifeing up from Kidney space, the water space of five elements.

This is a literature Study on ophthalmologic disease remedies of the four famous physicians in Jin Yuan period. The results were as follows: 1. Yu Wan So regarded the cause of ophthalmologic disease as the wind and heat(風熱), the blood deficiency(血少), or the deficiency of vital function and essence ,of the kidney(腎氣虛). For each treatment he used the method to remove wind and heat(除風散熱), the tranquillizing and tonifying method to nourish the heart and to relieve mental strain due to dificiency of vital essence(養血安神). the method to nourish Yin in the kidney(補腎水). The important nature of the these medicines is bitter and cold. 2. Jang Jong Jeung regarded the cause of ophthalmologic disease as the blood excess(血太過). or the blood deficiency(血不及). or the fire and heat(火熱). For each treatment he used the method to extract blood(出血療法). the method to nourish the liver and the kidney(補肝腎療法). or the method of vomiting and diarrhea(吐不法). The medicines are usuallly classified into external treatment medicines(外用藥). medicines to disintegrate mass(破積聚藥). purgating medicines(攻下藥). 3. Lee Dong Won regarded the cause of ophthalmologic disease as the spleen and the stomach weakness(脾胃虛弱), excessive fire in the heart(心火太盛). For each treatment he used the method to tranquillize the spleen and the stomach (調理脾胃). the tranquillizing and tonifying method to nourish the heart and to relieve mental strain due to deficiency of vital essence(養血安神). 4. Ju Dan Gye regarded the cause of ophthalmologic disease as the wind and heat(風熱). the blood deficiency(血少). the mental exhaustion(神勞). the kidney weakness(腎弱). For each treatment he used the method to remove wind and heat(除風散熱), the method to nourish blood and yin water(養血補水), the method to relieve mental strain and to remove spiritual heat(安腎瀉神火). the method to nourish yin water(養陰水). These drugs are usually classified into the medicines to remove endogenous heat(淸熱藥). the medicines to nourish yin(補陰藥).

I studied some important medical Literatures in order to examine the cause of Hoarse Voice and found out some facts of follows ; 1. The exogenous cause of disease in wind. 2. Wind-cold, Wind-fire, Wind-heat, Summer-heat, Heat. 3. The endogenous cause of disease is deficiency of Yin and dificiency of blood leads fire-evil was lung-dry stool dificiency of body fluid. 4. The non-exo-endogenous causes of disease is sing ballads and call out.

Objectives: The objective of study was to calculate the municipal level environmental burden of disease (EBD) due to heat wave. Methods: The data used were Korea National Health Insurance 2011 claim data and 2011 death registry. Heatwave related diseases included hypertensive heart diseases, ischemic heart diseases, cerebrovascular disease, and heat related illness. According to the method that WHO proposed, the study computed population-attributable fraction with relative risk which come from previous study and proportion of exposure which the study calculated with historical meteorology data. Results: The Average of 251 municipal EBD was 2.11 per thousand persons. The value of years lost due to disability was 11 times higher than that of years of life lost. On average EBD of county and southern geographical areas tended to be higher than those of District or city areas. The relationship between municipal deprivation index (composite deprivation index) and EBD showed the positive association, which means that the worse deprived municipal is, the higher EBD takes. Conclusions: Climate change is getting one of the major risk factors of cardio-cerebrovascular disease, which is the second leading cause of death. The study results suggested the urgent policy planning and reaction of climate change adaptation.

I have come to conclusion as follows about Bangpungtongsungsan after literatural study. 1. Bangpungtongsungsan is the medical treatment of heat, wind and dryness. 2. Bangpungtongsungsan is used in head-wind, dizziness, both eye disease, tinnitus, both ear deafness, nasal polyp, uriticaria, sajuabi, beard and hair falling, apoplexy, paralysis of hands and feet, dull mentality, tetanus, epidemic disease characterized by swelling and redness of face, carbuncle, daepungchang, pustule, syphilis, tinea capitis and so on. 3. Bangpungtongsungsan is used in the disease of cerebral hemorrhage, hypertension, arteriosclerosis, constipation, rosacea, hemorrhoids, cutaneous disease, empyema, eye disease, diabetes, asthma, obesity, beriberi, erysipelas, baldhead, fatty heart, chronic nephritis and so on. 4. Bangpungtongsungsan fits in Taeumin who has much wetness-heat and those who have much heat or have much heat but don't give off well. And it doesn't fit in the disease of intolerance to cold and fever in the form of weakness headache, asthenia of the spleen and stomach, cold by internal disorder and so on.

Objectives This case study is about a Taeeumin patient with Parkinson's disease identified as Dry-heat (Joyeol) pattern. In this study, we report significant improvement of motor and non-motor symptoms of this patient after Sasang constitutional medicine treatment. Methods The patient was identified as Taeeumin Dry-heat pattern and treated with Cheongsimyeonja-tang and acupuncture. The Unified Parkinson Disease Rating Scale(UPDRS) was used to assess the overall function of the patient. And the Global Assessment Scale (GAS) was used to assess the change of bradykinesia, tremor and dry mouth after the treatment. Results The UPDRS total score decreased from 145 points to 77 points after 5 weeks treatment. And symptoms of bradykinesia, tremor and dry mouth showed significant improvement in GAS after the treatment. Furthermore, constipation, sleep disturbance, dysuresia and anorexia were reported to be improved after treatment. Conclusions This study shows that Sasang constitutional medicine can be effective treatment for motor and non-motor symptoms caused by Parkinson's disease.

Warm disease: Any of various heat disease characterizer by rapid onset and shifts, pronounced heat signs, and a tendency to form dryness and damage yin. Exterior heat sign: exterior heat patterns are characterizer by pronounced heat signs, such as a red sore pharynx and a relatively red tongue with dry fur, the pulse is floating and rapid, cough and the production of thick white or yellow phlegm. If wind-heat evil exist in weifen, it becomes exterior syndrome, and a remedy about that is dispelling wind-heat but when wind-heat evil invades in nasal and throat part so the disease occurs, you need to add relieving sore throat worsens invades in lung it makes disharmony of diffuse in lungs. So a remedy about it is diffuse the lung. disharmony of diffuse in lungs makes metabolic disorder of qi and liquid and humor malfunction therefore it occurs cough and heat-phlegm syndrome. heat from weifen invades the whole of lungs and form lung heat. So a remedy about lung heat is clearing away lung heat, this lung heat makes inevitably bleed in lungs, therefore a remedy in this case is clearing the lung to stop bleeding, or moistening the lung. Exterior heat sign means that exterior syndrome coexists with heat syndrome and it means that a remedy of this syndrome need to mix prescriptions for relieving exterior syndrome and heat-clearing prescriptions to treat this syndrome.

The purpose of this study was to fine proteins, which have significantly different level in plasma between Qi-deficiency and Fire-heat group of Korean Oriental Stroke pattern identification (PI) among Korean stroke patients. Eighteen stroke patients with Qi-deficiency and forty nine patients with Fire-heat, which had critical syndrome of each PI, were participated in this study. Plasma protein pattern were analyzed by SELDI-TOF MS using Q10 strong anion exchange chip and Mass spectral data (m/z) statistically determined. The expression level of proteins, which were different between Qi-deficiency and Fire-heat in the results by SELDI-TOF MS, were confirmed by western blot. As a result of analyzing plasma protein by SELDI-TOF MS, six protein peaks were significantly higher in Fire-heat group than Qi-deficiency group. Two peaks among of them, M15003 and M15745, were respectively identified as hemoglobin alpha and beta in previous study. Expression level of plasma free hemoglobin of Fire-heat group was also confirmed higher in Fire-heat group than in Qi-deficiency group. These findings suggest that plasma free hemoglobin is a candidate for discriminating Qi-deficiency and Fire-heat group according to pattern identification (PI) of stroke.

Objectives The aim of this study was to make an analysis of clinical characteristics and status of Sasang constitutional medicine of patients with Parkinson's Disease who visited a Korean medicine hospital. Methods We studied 129 patients with Parkinson's Disease who visited a Korean medicine hospital from September 1, 2012 to June 30, 2018. We retrospectively collected medical history and characteristics of subjects using data of EMR (electronic medical record). Results The proportion of female was higher than male. The average age was 60s. The patients visited a hospital more than one year after the occurrence of symptoms. And they were mostly under western medicine treatment. Among the 129 patients, 56 persons(43.4%) were Taeeumin, 45 persons(34.9%) Soyangin and 28 persons Soeumin(21.7%). In the distribution of prescription according Sasang Constitutional Medicine symptomatology, there was no significant difference in the proportion of exterior cold disease(48.9%) and interior heat disease(51.1%) in Soyangin. Meanwhile the proportion of heat disease's prescription was higher than cold disease in Taeeumin(73.2%) and Soeumin(84.1%). The majority of disease were Dry-febrile symptom(73.2%) of heat disease in Taeeumin, Yang depletion-syndrome(64.3%) of heat disease in Soeumin, and Gyolhyung-symptom(33.3%) of exterior cold disease and Wasting thirst-syndrome(22.2%) of interior heat disease in Soyangin, Conclusions By Developing of guideline for treatment of Parkinson's Disease through analyzing on clinical characteristics and distribution of Sasang Constitutional Medicine symptomatology could contribute to the improvement of the cure rate and accuracy of constitution pattern.

There is a strong connection between the diet rich in antioxidants and the decreased incidence of inflammatory bowel disease and cancerous diseases. Diets that are rich in anti-oxidants particularly include fruits and vegetables containing the high amounts of vitamin A-E, carotenoids, and minerals. The supercritical heat-treated radish extracts of the research result had an inhibitory effect on the development of aberrant crypt foci (ACF), namely, preneoplastic lesions having a potential to become cancer cells and reduced the number of the aberrant crypt foci (ACF) consisting of four or more aberrant crypts (AC) having high risk to become tumors by about half. The supercritical heat-treated radish extracts can reduce the incidence of preneoplastic lesions having a high risk of developing cancer by about 28 %. DSS-treated mice developed symptoms similar to those of human UC, such as severe bloody diarrhea and weight loss. Supercritical heat-treated radish extracts, as well as sulfasalazine, suppressed colonic length and mucosal inflammatory infiltration. In addition, supercritical heat-treated radish extracts treatment significantly reduced the expression of pro-inflammatory signaling molecules through suppression both mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) and nuclear factor-kappa B (NF-kB) signaling pathways, and prevented the apoptosis of colon. Moreover, supercritical heat-treated radish extracts administration significantly led to the up-regulation of anti-oxidant enzyme including SOD and Catalase.
