  • The Korean pharmacy education has been facing extraordinary challenges. Clinical pharmacy has been embraced into mainstream in the new curriculum since its introduction in Korea. Although these changes are positive to provide our graduates adequate knowledge and skills to meet international standards of pharmacy education, current preparedness is far from desired goals. Thus, faculty members and clinical pharmacy experts from diverse walks are tirelessly committed to develop clinically oriented educational sites. However, it is important to recognize that pharmacy practice, research, and education should be aligned with the $Profession^{\circ}{\Phi}s$ vision. Most faculty members in clinical pharmacy were unexceptionally expected to tackle educational challenges with new curriculum. All academicians must profess throughout their career. Fundamental component in academic career is research accomplishments. The prosperity of clinical pharmacy inevitably goes with research. Clinical researchers in Korea are underprivilaged over basic scientists due to less funding opportunity, administrative support, and research resources. Clinical pharmacy researchers should further overcome poor recognition among other healthcare professionals and government. Aggressive networking and support and awareness of pharmacy oriented clinical research from the Korean college of clinical pharmacy would nurture clinical pharmacy research. With research progress, clinical pharmacy would be prerogative in Korean pharmacy advance.

Through the comprehensive and deep analysis, our findings on recommendable business strategies for Korea are as follows ; in terms of factor conditions, first, cooperative strategy in R&D for developing generics will be required. Second, Introduction of CMO business can be considered. In terms of demand condition, Korean firms should find out the chance for demand creation in Indian market which has future market potential and American market exploration, as soon as possible. With regards to strategy, structure and competition, trying M&A with leading Indian companies and utilizing well organized medical professionals in India will be considered. In the points of related and supportive parts, lastly, Korean government should try to make so called "National Strategic R&D committee" for pharmaceuticals and bring u-healthcare service to Korea in the first place. If Korean pharmaceutical industry implement above-mentioned strategies, CEPA can be turned into business opportunities from the crisis. As a result, Korean firms shall have more powerful global competitiveness eventually.

  • Background: The present study aimed to determine the prevalence and types of sexual problems of Turkish patients receiving gynecologic cancer treatment. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional convenience sample of 168 women completed the Index of Female Sexual Function (IFSF) and a Patient Identification Form in a hospital in Ankara, Turkey. Mean IFSF scores of the patients were low ($15.7{\pm}5.72$, out of a possible 45), indicating high rates of sexual problems. Results: Women frequently reported problems with dyspareunia (97.1%), vaginal dryness (97.6%), decreased sexual desire (91.1%), and difficulties of sexual arousal (92.9%) related with the cancer treatment process. They reported increased sexual problems following the period of treatment as compared to before treatment (p<0.05). Sexual dysfunction was associated with low educational and income levels, advanced age, TAH-BSO-LND surgery (total abdominal hysterectomy-bilateral salphingoopherectomylymph node dissection), experiencing side effects of chemotherapy, receiving chemotherapy in addition to surgery and radiotherapy (CT+RT+Surgery), and having a large number of chemotherapy cycles (p<0.05). Conclusions: Patients hoped for and expected counseling from healthcare professionals about their sexual functioning in relation to cancer treatments. Nurses and physicians can help to improve the overall quality of life for gynecologic cancer patients through sexual counseling.

  • Purpose: As Korean society has rapidly become multicultural in the last few decades, it is essential for nurses to become culturally competent to provide effective care for ethnically and culturally diverse populations. Considering the advantages of standardized instrument, there is a need to evaluate current cultural competence instruments to assess adaptability to Korean nurses. Methods: Using Macdowell's instrument evaluation guideline, a review and evaluation was done of the Inventory for Assessing the Process of Cultural Competence among Healthcare Professionals (IAPCC) and Cultural Competence Assessment (CCA), which were both developed based on cultural competence theoretical models and have been commonly used in nursing research. Two other Korean instruments were also evaluated. Results: The instruments reviewed have limitations in reliability and validity, as well as cultural background and development process, for measurement of cultural competence in Korean nurses. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that it is necessary to discuss and agree on a definition of what cultural competence is and to develop instruments to measure cultural competence in Korean nurses.

  • Background: This study aimed to better understand the barriers to perinatal hepatitis B prevention and to identify the reasons for poor hepatitis B knowledge and delivery of education to hepatitis B surface-antigen-positive pregnant women among healthcare providers in Santa Clara County, California. Materials and Methods: Qualitative interviews were conducted with 16 obstetricians and 17 perinatal nurses in Santa Clara County, California, which has one of the largest populations in the United States at high risk for perinatal hepatitis B transmission. Results: Most providers displayed a lack of self-efficacy attributed to insufficient hepatitis B training and education. They felt discouraged from counseling and educating their patients because of a lack of resources and discouraging patient attitudes such as stigma and apathy. Providers called for institutional changes from the government, hospitals, and nonprofit organizations to improve care for patients with chronic hepatitis B. Conclusions: Early and continuing provider training, increased public awareness, and development of comprehensive resources and new programs may contribute to reducing the barriers for health care professionals to provide counseling and education to pregnant patients with chronic hepatitis B infection.

This work is particularly important in shaping TKM identity as TCM embraces Chao medicine asserting it as one included in TCM. This research deals with themes of migration of Chao minorities to this territory and their medico-hygienical situation. Lifted bans on immigration in late Qing dynasty with uncertainty of Korea(Chosun) triggered the immigration to this district. The flow was heavily strengthened under the influence of Westerners and Japanese imperialism into china which consequently provoked the ruin of Qing dynasty, the civil war between republicans and communist and the socio-political changes in Korea. As population growths, the establishment of hospitals and immigration of healthcare professionals were also increased. Though this district is located in Chinese mainland the influence of Japanese was also relevant which lead to medical practice reflection both sides. Mutual combination and influence of western(contemporary) medicine, TCM and TKM practices made the particularity of chao medicine.
