Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the associated factors with oral health behavior in public health majoring students. Methods: Using convenience sampling method, the subjects were 474 health-related majoring students in Jeollanamdo. A self-reported questionnaire was completed from September 1 to 15, 2014. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics of the subjects, oral health related characteristics, oral health knowledge and behavior. Data were analyzed using SAS 9.3 version. T-test, ANOVA, correlation and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to evaluate the related factors with oral health behavior. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ in oral health knowledge in this study was 0.52 and that in oral health behavior was 0.80. Results: The overall score of oral health behavior was $3.38{\pm}0.52$. Of all behaviors, the practice in brush of teeth and tongue had the highest mean score. In multiple regression analysis, oral health knowledge in the nursing and dental hygiene students was positively associated with the oral health behavior(${\beta}=0.04$, p=0.003, ${\beta}=0.23$, p=0.003, and ${\beta}=0.18$, p=0.034, respectively). Necessity of dental care, one of oral symptom, and more than two oral symptoms were negatively associated with oral health behavior(${\beta}=-0.14$, p=0.002, ${\beta}=-0.11$, p=0.037, and ${\beta}=-0.17$, p=0.011, respectively). Conclusions: Higher oral health knowledge showed higher levels of oral health behavior. These results will enhance the quality of oral health behavior by increasing the level of oral health knowledge. The optimal oral health education program would be able to improve oral health behavior by increasing the level of oral health knowledge.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors influencing college students' health promotion lifestyle. Methods: The subject was 606 students. Statistical analysis with SPSS used descriptive statistics, t-test, one way ANOVA, Pearson correlation and Stepwise Multiple Regression. Results: The average item score for health promotion lifestyle was 2.58. The subscale showing the highest score was interpersonal relationship (3.03), which was followed by spiritual growth (2.94). stress management (2.54), nutrition (2.52), physical activity (2.16) and health responsibility (2.15). There were significant differences according to age, gender, BMI, perceived health state, religion, economic state, live together, major and health promotion lifestyle. The most powerful Predictors of health promotion lifestyle were the prior related behavior (51.8%) and self-efficacy (7.7%). The combination of prior related behavior, perceived self-efficacy, activity-related affect, social support, perceived stress, commitment to a plan of action accounted for 67.9% of the variance of health promotion lifestyle. Conclusion: Prior related behavior was the most powerful variable of health promotion lifestyle. Therefore, health promotion programs for changing and maintaining prior related behavior and increasing self-efficacy should be developed to promote a healthy lifestyle in college students.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the job-related health problems of school teachers in Seoul area and investigate their disease management behavior. Methods: This study used the on-line survey to investigate frequent health problems and management behavior of teachers. And job-related diseases were identified using date from the National Health Insurance Corporation. Collected data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test and ANOVA. Results: The frequent health problems of teachers were varicose veins, vocal cord disease and thyroid disease. And Job-related health diseases were varicose veins and vocal cord disease. These problems increased with career. 57.4% and 28.4% teachers in varicose veins and vocal cord disease did not do any management behavior to prevent or cure the disease. 56.8% teachers did not know how to prevent the diseases and 16.3% teachers did not practice even though they know the methods of prevention. Conclusion: Teacher's health examination should include varicose veins and vocal cord disease examination. And schools should try to offer various programs for preventing job-related health problems.

Purpose : The college student period is pivotal for establishing oral health management behaviors and habits that persist in adulthood; it is necessary to develop the correct behaviors. Appearance management behavior not only involves the management of an individual's appearance but also ensures a healthy quality of life. Additionally, it is related to health and oral health behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine how college students' appearance management behavior affects their oral health management behavior and to provide basic data for developing policies appropriate for the lifestyle of college students. Methods : A self-administered questionnaire was completed by 450 university students in Gyeonggi, Choung-nam, Daejeon on April 27, 2022. The survey comprised 5 questions about general characteristics, 18 about appearance management behavior, and 8 about oral health behavior. The sum of the practice questions were calculated, with higher scores indicating better oral health behavior. Results : The oral health management behavior exhibited was generally high. Notably, the health-related group (61.2 %) demonstrated significantly higher levels of clothing management (60.5 %), makeup management (56.6 %), and skincare (56.6 %) behaviors, whereas body management behavior (61.2 %) was deemed 'normal' (p<.05). The results of the stepwise multiple regression analysis examining the impact of appearance management behavior on oral health management indicated that clothing management (β=0.17) and skincare behaviors (β=0.12) were influential factors. Among these, clothing management behavior was the most influential. Conclusion : To promote oral health practices among college students, this study incorporated factors related to appearance management into oral health education to increase participation and interest. We intend our findings to serve as foundational data for developing oral health education programs that integrate elements of appearance management.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare fatigue and fatigue-regulation behaviors in undergraduates courses related to public health (group A) and undergraduates in courses not related to public health (group B). Method: Using a structured questionnaire, data were collected from 236 undergraduates. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test with SAS package were used for data analysis, Results: There was a statistically significant difference between group A and group B in t-test comparison by group for fatigue, and all subcategories of fatigue and fatigue-regulation behaviors. The frequency of fatigue-regulation behavior of group A was 12.23 and the mean for total efficiency of fatigue-regulation behavior was 2.17, while the frequency of fatigue-regulation behavior for group B was 10.47 and the mean for total efficiency of fatigue-regulation behavior was 1.75. Finally, total fatigue and all subcategories of fatigue were positively related to fatigue-regulation behaviors. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop an intervention program for regulating fatigue in undergraduates courses related to public health.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate effects of providing written information for coronary artery disease on health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, anxiety, and educational satisfaction depending on patients' health literacy. Methods: The participants in this study were 40 patients who underwent coronary angiography or coronary intervention, and depending on the level of health literacy 30 patients were high group and 10 patients were low group. Each group was evaluated on health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, anxiety, and educational satisfaction with providing written information. Results: By providing written information in the group with high health literacy, there was a significant difference in health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, but there was no significant difference in anxiety variable. On the other hand, there was no significant difference in health behavior compliance related self-efficacy, knowledge of disease, and anxiety by providing written information in the group with low health literacy. Also, there was no significant difference in the educational satisfaction between high and low group of health literacy after providing written information. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop educational materials that can be applied to clinical nursing field with considering health literacy of patients with coronary artery disease. In addition to providing written information, it is also necessary to develop other educational intervention programs such as video and personalized counseling that may be helpful for coronary patients with low health literacy and investigate their effectiveness.
Purpose: The purpose was to investigate the physiological parameters and health perception of adults in Kyungi province area, and the correlation between these variables. The subjects were 95 adults who participated voluntarily in the health examination program. Methods: The instruments for this study were physiological parameters, which were composed of blood pressure, blood sugar, and body fat. The health perception scale developed by Ware (1976), and the health practice performance scale developed by Chang et al. (1999). Results: The average blood pressure was 137/85mmHg, the average blood sugar was 108.56mg/dl, and the average body fat arm sunt was 27.08% in males, and 30.07% in females. There were significant negative correlation between health perception and blood sugar (r=-2.36, p=.01), and body fat (r= -2.77, p=.001). There were significant positive correlations between blood pressure and health behavior (r=2.76, p=.001). However a significant correlation between health perception and health behavior was not found. Of the sociodemographic characteristics, sex (F=5.42, p=.01), and marital status (F=3.29, p=.04) were related to blood pressure. Also sex (F=4.17, p=.04) was related to body fat, and sex (t=4.04, p=.03) was related to health perception and disease status (t=4.33, p=.040). Thus having a relationship with health behavior. Conclusion: It is suggested that health perception provide important information about health status. However, this study has not shown a correlation between health perception and health behavior. Therefore further research is needed to find the other variables related to health behavior.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to survey the college students' perception of cancer risks, cancer related health behavior, and perception of cancer occurrence possibility before and after age 40. Methods: The subjects were 771 college students who were conveniently selected from two colleges in the Gyeonggi Province. Data were analyzed using SPSS WIN 12.0. Results: The mean score of cancer risk perception was 3.8. The highest score item was 'smoking may cause cancer'. The mean score of cancer related health behavior was 3.0. The highest score item was 'take bath or shower'. Student felt that possibility of developing cancer before age 40 was 20.1% and that after age 40 was 36.2%. The perception of cancer risks was significantly different between male and female, and the health behavior was significantly different between age groups. There were weak relationships between the perception of cancer risks and cancer related health behavior. Conclusion: College students' perception of cancer risks was mostly good, but their behavior to reduce the risks did not match the degree of perception. Students recognized that after age 40 has a higher risk of developing cancer, therefore, intervention on behavioral modification to reduce cancer risks would be beneficial.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine stress, interpersonal competence, health promotion behavior and factors influencing health-promoting behavior of undergraduate students majoring on a health-related degree program in Korea. Methods: Descriptive correlational study was utilized. The subjects were 269 college students in Gyeongi Province. Data were collected from November to December, 2014. Stress, interpersonal competence and health promotion behavior were measured using structured questionnaires. SAS 9.3 program was used for data analysis. Results: Stress and health promotion behavior were low, while interpersonal competence levels of students were moderate. Correlation between stress and health promoting behavior (r=-.16, p=.002) and interpersonal competence and health promoting behavior (r=.46, p<.001) was statistically significant. Factors influencing health promotion behavior were found to be stress(2.4%), interpersonal competence(21.7%), religion(1.7%) and academic achievement(1.5%). Interpersonal competence was the most influencing predictor for the health-promoting behaviors of undergraduate students majoring in health related programs. Conclusion: We suggest development of intervention programs for enhancement of interpersonal competence for college students in order to improve their health-promoting behaviors.
This study was designed to provide a base for nursing intervention to help apheresis blood-donors to perform health promotion behavior effectively by surveying their health promotion behavior and by analyzing the critical factors. The study subjects were 468 participants in platelet donation at a university hospital apheresis unit in Seoul. The data for this study were collected between May and June. 2002. by questionnaire. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA. Scheffe test, Pearson correlation coefficient. and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows. 1. The degree of performance of health promotion behavior of the subjects was a total average score of $152.9\pm21.5$ points and a mean score of 2.7 points. The highest score was 'I have a good relationship with others' in the factor of self-actualization and interpersonal support. The lowest score was 'I have my blood pressure checked regularly' in the factor of health responsibility. 2. Considering the classification according to the subjects' general characteristics. the health promotion behavior score was significantly higher for soldiers than high school students, for religious believers than atheists. and for high class economic status than mid and low class economic status. Also the health promotion behavior score was higher for those who had made more than five blood donations than those who had made zero or one donation. and for those who had made more than four blood donations than for those who had made less than four blood donations in the previous times of apheresis blood donation. The score was also higher for those not having a relationship with recipient than those having a relationship. 3. The self-efficacy related to donation. general self-efficacy and self-esteem had a significant correlation with the performance in health promotion behavior. 4. The critical factors that influenced the health promotion behavior were explained by $35.6\%$ of the general self-efficacy and by $40.2\%$ of the total of self-efficacy related to donation, and previous times of apheresis blood donation. The health promotion behavior score of apheresis blood-donors differed according to job, religion, economic status, previous times of whole blood donation, previous times of apheresis blood donation, and relationship with recipient. The health promotion behavior and self-efficacy related to donation, general self-efficacy, and self-esteem showed significant positive correlation with one another. The general self-efficacy, self-efficacy related to donation, and previous times of apheresis blood donation appeared to be the significant predictive factors of health promotion behavior. Therefore, from these study results, it is necessary to establish more effective and organized nursing intervention strategies for the health promotion behavior of apheresis blood-donors.
