The survey questionnaire included items on demographic characteristics, level of depression, social support, activities of daily living, self-efficacy, and health promotion behavior. Data were analyzed using the SPSS Windows 14.0 program. Results: There were significant differences in health promotion behavior according to religion, economy and health status. Levels of depression, social support and self-efficacy had strong correlations with health promotion behavior. The factors that had the greatest effect on health promotion behavior were social support and self-efficacy. Conclusion: As social support and self-efficacy have been found to affect health promotion behavior in older adults, programs developed to enhance health of older adults should include activities to enhance both social support and self-efficacy.

  • Purpose - This study aims to clarify the impact of smart health gadgets (specfically, smart watches/sports wristbands) on promoting healthy behavior. It also aims to understand the use and characteristics of the devices, to explore the relationship between device factors and factors that affect healthy behavior, and to discuss the development of health promotion. Research, design, data, and methodology - Smart device users were investigated through a random sampling method of 185 respondents, including all ages and all levels of occupation, education, and income. The SmartPLS 3.0 software enabled the path analysis and the descriptive statistical analysis; the theoretical model was evaluated for the parameter analysis. Results - The size and path of each factor impacting health promoting behavior were ascertained. The objective factors that attract users to the smart wristband were investigated as well as the methods by which the device and the HPM are bound to each other and the correlation factors to seek out the closest relationship. Conclusions - According to the analysis, the real-time smart watch/sports wristband exerts a positive impact on one's health promoting behavior. Health awareness is increasingly promoted in the process of using the device, and the impact of health awareness and self-efficacy effects on healthy behavior is considerable.

  • This study was designed to investigate the content of health behavior and to examine factors determining health behavior of nursing students(n=159) in relation to sociodemographic and cognitive variables. Cognitive variables were categorized into saliency of health, susceptibility to illness, and health locus of control. Data analysis prodecure included factor analysis and stepwise multivariate regressions using health behavior as dependent variables. Analysis showed; 1. As a whole, nursing students showed a tendency of lack in positive health behavior, especially in diet-related health behavior. 2. Multiple regression analysis revealed that the factors such as grade, saliency of health, and birth place were to be independently and significantly associated with health behavior: Upper grade students, high level of saliency, urban-born students tend to take health behavior positively. 3. The most influential factor among them was grade, but cognitive inspite of stereotype, poorly impact on health behavior with the exception health. We can guess the effect of education indirectively from these findindgs, but longitudinal studies need to consider the direct effect of education. The results also indicate that the respondents should be encouraged to take health behavior positively. The studies including more other cognitive variables would be conducted for the nursing students in relation to health behavior.

The levels of education (${\beta}$=.35), income (${\beta}$=.27), and perceived health status (${\beta}$=.21) were found significant, explaining 41.8% of the variance in linguistic health literacy. The levels of education (${\beta}$=.23), income (${\beta}$=.27), age (${\beta}$=-.24), and family support (${\beta}$=.22) were found to be significant, explaining 50.9% of the variance in functional health literacy. The levels of education (${\beta}$=.27), family support (${\beta}$=.20), and linguistic health literacy (${\beta}$=.40) were found to be the significant factors, which explained 45.1% of the variance in health behavior compliance. Linguistic health literacy specifically explained 9.5% of health behavior compliance. Conclusion: Health literacy was associated with health behavior compliance, influencing the factors of health behavior compliance. These findings suggest that the interventions for improving health literacy are necessary to enhance health behavior compliance in patients with coronary artery disease.

The score of the health promoting behavior was statistically different according to marriage, on-duty hours, holidays, satisfaction in the job, perceived health status, perceived fatigue, health concept, and self-efficacy (p<.05), while it was not statistically different according to gender, religious faith, residence, eduation, economic levels, career in the job, average income, medical care insurance, employment insurance, control of fortuity, and control over other persons. 3. The health promoting behaviors in the hair dressers showed positive correlation with self-efficacy and internal control, while it showed negative correlation with control over other people, control of fortuity, health concept, and perceived fatigue. 4. The Regression analysis results of the questionnaire showed that perceived fatigue, health concept and office hours were significant factors but the age, the fact of being single or couple, position at the job, holidays, satisfaction of the job, self-control and stresses from other people and self-efficiency appeared insignificant. In conclusion, the hair dressers with less perceived fatigue and better cognitive health concept and short duty hours showed better health promoting behavior. So, In order to conduct health promoting behaviors of hair dressers, the method will need to control of working time and perceived fatigue.
