This study was conducted to find the sexual size dimorphism(SSD) in morphometric characters of three species, Eremias argus, Takydromus amurensis and T. wolteri in lacertid lizard from Korea. Six external traits, snout-vent length, tail length, head length, head width, forelimb length and hind-limb length were focused to compare two sexes among the each three lizards. Student's t-test was used to compare the adult SVL between the sexes for each species. For the other parts of the body, a one-way analysis of covariance(ANCOVA) with SVL as the covariate was used. In all these species, males have longer tail and head than females like general lacertid lizard. In addition, male E. arugus have broader head and longer forelimbs and hind-limbs than conspecific females. Likewise, male T. wolteri have broader head than females. In the three lacertid lizards from Korea, snout-vent length did not significantly differ between the sexes. To understand the causes for SSD in SVL, ecological information, such as the presence/absence of male-male combat and the correlation between the SVL of female and litter size, is required. Therefore, further ecological study on the three species of lacertid lizard from Korea will make it possible to explain the reason SSD is not found in SVL.

A control system for crop cutting in Hot strip Mill is developed. The development system is composed of three sub-systems. one is crop shape system which captures the shapes of the strip's head and tail using the area CCD camera. Another is Laser Speed System which measures the speed and length of strip. and, the other is control system which controls the optimal cutting length and crop shear motor. As a result, with a developed system we can reduce crop loss considerably.

The Tonpilz transducer is one of the essential elements in active sonar application. The characteristics of transducer depend on the piezoelectric ceramics and mechanical elements such as head mass, tail mass, pre-stress rod and so on. One of the important characteristics is electric and mechanical stability of transducer for long term high power transmitting operation. This parer presents the results about long term endurance tests of the underwater acoustic transducer.

A new species of Korean ophichthid eel, Ophichthus rotundus, is described on the basis of specimens collected from Kyehwado, Chollabuk-do, Korea. 0, rotundus is characterized by small eye, elongated and slender body, short head and trunk, small eye, long tail, low dorsal and anal fins, many vertebrae, and no spotted pattern on body and fins.

Two postmortem male and female reticulated giraffes were examined. The adult male giraffe showed sigmoid flexure of penis similar to most ungulates. Epididymis was well-developed and divided with head, body and tail parts. On the tip of penis, there was a urethral process. At the necropsy of a 20-month-old and nulliparous giraffe, ovaries, oviducts, two uterine horns with a septum and a cervix were distinctively shown. Understanding reproductive organs of giraffes would be beneficial to succeed in artificial breeding on this species especially in the difficult situation of importing hoofed animals.

The game of yut is one of Korean traditional games which every body can enjoy regardless of gender or age. Yut consists of four sticks, each has head and tail. We consider the probabilities of ve results of yut which we toss according to the probability p of head. And we calculate the probabilities according to 4 courses which one piece of yut can go through in a yutpan.

To establish feline electroacupuncture anesthesia, 5 cats (mixed, 1 month old, 0.4~0.5 kg, female) were examined in the present study. The acupoints used for feline electroacupuncture anesthesia were Tian-ping and Bai-hui. After perpendicular insertion of needle to Tian-ping and Bai-hui, respectively, positive electrode was connected at Tian-ping and negative electrode was connected at Bai-hui, respectively, Electric condition was 3 V and 30 Hz. To examine the effect of electroacupuncture anesthesia, laparotomy (5 heads)was applied. The pain of the body surface and the extremities excluding the tail was not found, and the induction time of electroacupuncture anesthesia was approximately 1 minute. As for the reactions with electroacupuncture anesthesia, the head part was directed to backward, blepharoreaction was mild and the consciousness was vivid. The class of anesthesia effect was excellent in 4 heads and was poor in 1 head. The pain was not observed and bleeding was comparatively small volume during surgery in excellent group.

Cave 79 of Kumtura grottoes, is the best preserved cave, which has an important meaning for research on Uighur costume. This paper is intended to analyze the costume characteristics of female donors in Cave 79 by comparing image materials between Dunhuang murals and other murals in Xinjiang province. In Cave 79, female donor wears red robe with tight sleeve, whose collar is crescent-shaped decorated. Two different opinions are upheld for this decoration. One regards this as the turn-down collar, while the other believes this as decoration on V-neckline. Red robe is quite common in female donors of Xinjiang and Dunhuang murals and a female in fresco is wearing a crown in a triangle red headwear style, regarded as red silk and drooping at head. Female donors wear an extra coat, kame hair clasp, red jacket, light-colored high-waist skirt with a long-tail waistband, and tangerine Pibo (silk ribbon) with scattered small flowers. All these costume styles are commonly-used by Han females. The kame headwear is also the common ornament for Han females and the female's hairstyle is in cone shape on head by a white kame. Current costumes are similar but not completely same.

Three kinds of jet flows encountered in the practical airframe design phase are discussed in this paper. Firstly, the side jet effect on the cavity flow over the flat plate was investigated. Secondly, the aerodynamic modeling of side jet influence on body-tail configuration was presented. Computational study of the similarity parameters was done to minimize the wind tunnel test. Lastly, supersonic jet impingement on a flat plate surrounded by solid walls was simulated numerically for both axi-symmetric and three-dimensional calculations with moving body method.
