The ultrastructures of germinal cells of male marsh clam, Corbicujar lena were studied. The mature sperm was primitive type, consisting of head, middle piece and tail. The mature sperm was whip-shaped and its head was divided into two parts; the acrosomal part shaped long hollow cone about $3{\mu}m$ in length and the sperm nuclear part shaped a long stick about $9\;{\mu}m$ in length. The posterior part of the sperm nuclear projected to centriole, The middle piece of the sperm-nuclear had four mitochondria and two centrioles. The sperm tail part had the 9+2 microtubular arrangement known as a typical pattern, During spermiogenesis, chromatin within sperm nuclear became fiberic materials by condensation.
We characterized a cytoplasmic actin gene locus in greenling Hexagrammos otakii (Scorpaeniformes). Genomic clones isolated from the greenling DNA library contained two homologous cytoplasmic actin gene copies (HObact2.1 and HObact2.2) in a tail-to-head orientation. Their gene structure is characterized by six translated exons and one non-translated exon. Exon-intron organization and the nucleotide sequences of the two actin gene isoforms are very similar. However, only the HObact2.1 isoform contains microsatellite-like, dinucleotide repeats in the 5'-flanking region (named HOms2002) and intron 1 following the non-translated exon 1 (named HOms769). One microsatellite locus (HOms769) was highly polymorphic while the other (HOms2002) was not. Based on bioinformatic analysis, different transcription factor binding motifs are related to stress and immune responses in the two actin isoforms. Semiquantitative and real-time reverse transcription-PCR assays showed that both isoform transcripts were detectable ubiquitously in all the tissues examined. However, the basal expression levels of each isoform varied across tissues. Overall, the two isoforms showed a similar, but not identical, expression pattern. Our data suggest that the cytoplasmic actin genes may be the result of a recent duplication event in the greenling genome, which has not experienced significant subfunctionalization in their housekeeping roles.
This study describes spermatogenesis and sperm ultrastructure of the granular ark, Tegillarca granosa using light and electron microscopy. In the active spermatogenic season, the testis comprises many spermatogenic follicles that contain germ cells in different developmental stages. Primary spermatocytes in the pachytene stage are characterized by synaptonemal complexes. The early spermatids are characterized by the appearance of several Golgi bodies, increased karyoplasmic electron density, and tubular mitochondria. The mass of proacrosomal granules consists of numerous heterogeneous granules with high electron density that are about 20 nm in diameter. From the midstage of spermiogenesis, the well-developed mitochondria in the cytoplasm aggregate posterior to the nucleus and surround the proximal and distal centrioles. The proacrosomal granules condense and form a single acrosome with a thin envelope. During late spermiogenesis, the acrosome begins to elongate becoming conical. The sperm is approximately $35.0{\mu}m$ long and consists of a head, midpiece, and tail. The head comprises a round nucleus and a conical acrosome. A micro fibrous axial rod is observed between the nucleus and acrosome. The midpiece has a calyx-like structure with five mitochondria, and the tail, which has the typical "9+2" microtubular system, originates from the distal centriole.
To elucidate the effect of dorsal acupoints for canine electroacupuncture anesthesia, mongrel dogs(6 heads: 2.6-10.5kg, 3 males and 3 females) were used. After needling perpendicularly to Tian-Ping(GV-5) and Bai-Hui(GV-20), the electrodes were connected with positive to Tian-Ping and negative to Bi-hui, respectively using with veterinary electroacupuncture apparatus(TEC AM-3000). The electric conditions were 2-4V and 30 Hz. The pain of body surface was checked by hemostatic forceps. The effect of electroacupuncture andesthesia was appreciated by application of laparotomy(2 heads), ear trimming and tail amputation(1 head), castration(2 heads) and enterotomy(1 head), respectively. Induction time, clinical findings and operation findings were investigated under the electroacupuncture anesthesia. The induction time of electroacupuncture anesthesia was very rapid, approximately 1 minute and the pain of body surface including the extremities was not detected. As for clinical findings during electroacupuncture anesthesia, consciousness was evident, pupil reflex was weak and blepharoreaction was existed. As for operation findings, pain was not detected during incision and suture, and bleeding was relatively small volume. The grade of electroacupuncture anesthesia was excellent in all cases applied with ear trimming and tail amputation, laparatomy, castration and enterotomy. Considering above all findings, it was thought that electroacupuncture stimulation at Tian-Ping and Bai-hui examined in the present study induced excellent electroacupuncture anesthesia for dogs.

In this paper, we suggest a lifelike pattern generator for a quadruped walking system with a head, a tail, four legs and a torso. The system looks like a giant dinosaur which stands over 7 meters tall with its legs over 2 meters long. We focus on its lifelike naturalness. Thus, generating logical patterns in harmony with head-body-tail patterns and quadrupedal locomotion patterns makes you feel that the quadruped walking system is alive. The basic patterns of four legs and a body are obtained from a 3D graphic animation, which is made and captured from various motions of similar species in existence since the giant dinosaurs are exterminated. The dinosaur-like mechanism also is designed from bone and joint structures of quadrupedal animals. The lifelike pattern generator based on fuzzy logic could generate lifelike motions according to the dinosaur-like mechanism and the basic patterns. A series of computer simulations and experimental implements show that the pattern generator makes the quadruped walking system lifelike.
The time-course process by which spermatozoa penetrates through the micropvle apparatus into the egg cytoplasm of rainbow trout, Oncorhvnchus mvkiss, was examined with transmission and scanning electron microscopy. In the unfertilized egg, the ess surface beneath the inner opening of the micropylar canal did not differ distinctly from the rest of the animal pole area. A spermatozoon attached to the micropvle opening 20 seconds after insemination. In the initial stases of penetration, the spermatozoon still within the micropvlar canal attached perpendicularly at its apical tip to the ess surface, then the sperm head was rapidly engulfed by the folded egg surface with its manly microvilli. A large fertilization cone with microvillus-free surface appeared on the esS surface sutra-rounding the penetrating spermatozoon. The head portion of the penetrating spermatozoon was completely wrapped by the ess surface with only the tail portion visible externally 30 seconds after insemination. The fertilization cone displayed the tail portion of the penetrating spermatozoon on the central portion of its surface 60 seconds after insemination. 150 seconds after insemination, breakdown of the cortical granules elevation were initiated at the animal pole, then completed at the vegetable pole area. The spermatozoon disappeared from the outer surface of the ess before the fertilization cone completely retracted 250 seconds after insemination. In result, the block to polvspermv to permit entry of a sin81e sperm is considered to be mechanical by the rnorpholoSical design of the micropvle and fertilization cone.

Spermatogenesis and sperm ultrastructure of the marsh clam (Corbicula japonica) were investigated by electron microscopic observations. Testis of the marsh clam consists of numerous spermatogenic follicle containing germ cells in the different developmental stages. Spermatogonia are located nearest the outer wall of the follicle, while spermtocytes and spermatids are positioned nearer to the lumen. Spematogonia are oval-shaped and about $5{\mu}m$ In diameter. Spermatogonia develop into spermatocyte, spermatid and spermatozoon. In the spermatid to about $2{\mu}m$ in diameter, cytoplasm decreases and mitochondria move to the base of the nucleus and fuse into several spheres, the centrioles become orthogonally oriented, a flagellum appears, and an acrosomal vesicle forms. The mature sperm has primitive type, consisting of a head, a midpiece and a tail. The sperm was arrow-shaped, and its head is about $8{\mu}m$ long and comprised of a long nucleus and an acrosome. The four mitochondria encircled the centrosome in midpiece. The flagellum had the classical 9+2 axoneme structure, and axonemal lateral fins in the tail were observed.

The axolotl has extraordinary regeneration capacity compared to other vertebrates. This remarkable potential has been attributed to its life-long neoteny, characterized by the exhibition of embryonic characteristics at the adult stage. A recent study provided a detailed morphological analysis of the sperm morphology of the Ambystoma mexicanum using routine and detailed histological techniques. The primary purpose of the present study is to describe a simple and inexpensive method for evaluating the morphology of axolotl sperm. In this study, spermatophore structures were collected and spread on slides and air-dried. The slides were stained with periodic acid Schiff, toluidine blue, Masson's trichrome, Giemsa, Spermac, and Diff-Quik dye for a morphological examination. The slides were coated with gold/palladium for a scanning electron microscopy examination. The sperm of the axolotl consisted of an elongated head, a neck, and a flagellum covered with an undulating membrane. The lengths of the midpiece, tail, and head were 8.575 ㎛, 356.544 ㎛, and 103.661 ㎛, respectively. In the flagellum part, the wavy membrane structure, whose function has not been explained, surrounds the tail. The data obtained from this study will constitute an important step in designing future research on the reproductive and regeneration capacity of the axolotl.

The calculation of steady-state cavitating flows around Supercavitating Underwater Bodies (SUB's), which consist of a circular disk head (cavitator), a conical fore-body, a cylindrical middle-body and either a boat-tail or a flare-tail, are carried out. To calculate the axisymmetric cavitating flow, used is a commercial computational fluid dynamics code based on the finite volume method, Fluent. From the analysis of numerical results, the cavity and drag, affected by the fore-body and tail of the SUB's, are investigated. Firstly, the effect of the fore-body shape is investigated with the same disk cavitator and a cylindrical rear-body of fixed diameter. Then with the same cavitator and a fixed fore-body, the effect of the rear-body shape is investigated. Before the cavity generated by the cavitator covers the slant of fore-bodies sufficiently, the larger the cone angle of the fore-body(i.e., the shorter the slant length), the larger the drag and the slower the development of cavity. After the cavity covers the fore-body completely so that the pressure drag component of the body is vanished, the characteristics of drag-velocity curves are identical. Also, as the tail angle is bigger, the cavity generated by the cavitator is suppressed further and the drag becomes larger. The peak of the drag appears for the flare-tail, i.e., when the tail angle is positive(+). On the contrary, the trough of the drag appears for the boat-tail, i.e., when the tail angle is negative(-). When the tail angle is 5 degrees, the peak of the drag appears at the body speed of 80m/s and the value of the drag is 43% larger than that at the design speed of 100m/s. When the tail angle is -5 degrees, the trough of the total drag appears at 75m/s and that drag is 30% smaller than that of the cavitator, which means the rest of the body has a negative drag.

The Mantle cell lymphoma(MCL) is a relatively rare subtype of malignant lymphoma characterized by chromosomal translocation t(11 ; 14)(q13 ; q32), positive response for CD5, and nuclear cyclin D1. It is account for an estimated 3-6% of all non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. The involvement of extra-nodal site is not uncommon, whereas salivary glands are rarely affected. It is more commonly occurred in men and old age and approximately 75% of cases are diagnosed with advanced stage. It is usually characterized by an aggressive clinical course, and the prognosis is poorer than other type of head and neck lymphoma. We recently encountered a 69-year-old female with mass in parotid tail and upper neck, and it was diagnosed as mantle cell lymphoma. We report the unique case with a review of literature.
