  • This paper proposes a current harmonic compensation method for the grid-connected inverter, especially caused by the grid impedance. Grid impedance causes low order harmonics in the grid current and deteriorates power quality. This paper analyzes the negative impact of the grid impedance, and proposes an active feedforward compensation method. Proposing method verified through simulation and experiment with 3-phase 1.5kW voltage source inverter prototype.

  • 현재 LNG 운반선, 쇄빙선 등의 특수선박과 해양플랜트에 설치되는 전력변환 장치에는 다이오드를 이용하는 정류기가 많이 사용된다. 하지만 정류에 의한 비선형 부하의 입력전류에 많은 고조파가 포함되어 공급 전압파형의 왜곡을 초래한다. 전압파형의 왜곡은 발전기, 변압기, 부하기기 등의 오동작과 전력품질을 저하시키게 된다. 본 논문에서는 정류기 사용시의 전류왜곡을 감소시키기 위해서 직류 파형 정형화 회로를 사용하여 개선함으로써 부하에 인가되는 교류 파형을 정확한 정현파로 만든다. 그 결과 전력계통의 전류와 전압 파형에 포함되는 고조파를 저감할 수 있으며 이를 시뮬레이션을 통해 입증한다.

  • This paper describes an implementation of a DSP (Digital Signal Processor) controlled random carrier frequency modulation for the PWM inverter for acoustic noise reduction of induction motors. Real-time generation of the random variable and RPWM(Random PWM) along with the speed control was achieved by DSP TMS320C31. The experimental results show that the voltage and current harmonics are spread to a wide band area and the power spectrum of the acoustic switching noise was spread to create a more appealing, less annoying sound. Also, the speed response of the implemented method and the conventional method is nearly similar to each other from the viewpoint of the v/f constant control.

  • This paper suggests the noise reduction method of the engine cooling fan. It was estimated the fannoise contribution at the engine room and identified the noise source at the rotating fan by sound intensity method, first. And it has been developed the program for predicting the noise spectrum of axial flow fan. The radiated acoustic pressure is expressed the discrete frequency noise peaks at BPF and its harmonics and the line spectrum at the broad band by the noise generation mechanisms. In this paper it is shown that the comparison of the measuted and calculaed noise spectra of fn for the validation of the noise predictiong program. And this paper presents the characteristics of a fan noise due to modify the design parameters. Accordingly, it was obtained the design parameter values for noise reduction of fan.

Optimal Angle Error Reduction of Magnetic Position Sensor by 3D Finite Element Method

  • This paper deals with an optimal angle error reduction method of magnetic position sensor using hall effect elements. The angle detection simulation for the magnetic position sensor is performed by 3 dimensional finite element method and Taguchi method, one of the design of experiments. The magnetic position sensor is required to generate ideal sine and cosine waveforms from its hall effect elements according to rotation angle for precise angle information. However, the output signals are easy to include harmonics due to uneven magnetic field distribution from permanent magnet in the air-gap in the vicinity of hall effect elements. For the Taguchi method, three design parameters related to position of hall effect elements and shape of back yoke are selected. The characteristics of optimal magnetic position sensor are compared with those of original one in terms of simulation as well as experiment. Finally, the performances of the motor adopting original model and optimal model are represented for the purpose of verification of motor performance due to signals from magnetic position sensor.

  • SV_PWM inverter for Induction motor drive system was designed at SIMULINK environment in MATLAB. This paper was performed the analysis of output current harmonics using DSP blockset. It was roved in this paper that SV_PWM method has been ore effective than triangle comparison PWM method on harmonic reduction at steady state.

  • A highly efficient single-phase/three-phase compatible ac-to-dc converter is proposed and analyzed, which includes three identical single-phase both soft-switched dc-to-dc converter with boost converter as a pre-regulator for input power factor correction (PFC). The proposed converter structure provides a cost reduction and easy implementation of compatibility between single-phase 220V and three-phase 220V/380V with their inputs in delta or wye connections.

  • In this paper we propose a series active power filter and a simple calculation method acquiring the reference voltage. A series active power filter is suitable to suppress harmonics produced by voltage type harmonic source such as a diode rectifier with filter capacitor on the DC side The proposed series active power filter system is applied to 3-phase 3-wire power system including the voltage type harmonic source. Experimental result obtained from a laboratory model are shown to verify the viability and effectiveness of the proposed system.

  • In auxiliary block of high speed train power factor correction and harmonics reduction is very important issue for efficient energy transport. The GTO-equipped PWM converter is used for traction untill resently. But the rising power capability of IGBTs resently allows to build IGBT-equipped PWM converter with a considerably increased switching frequency. This paper presents switching pattern, control method, operation mode and tuned filter to reduce dc link voltage ripple for paralleled converter.

  • In this paper, the method of reducing harmonics and correcting of power factor in single PWM converter associated with diode rectifier and boos converter is studied. The ac-dc converter in which the harmonic distortion in the input current is reduced using a third harmonic injected PWM is proposed. A lower switching power loss and easy configuration o control circuit are obtained by adopting discontinuous current mode. Simulation and experimental results of ac-dc converter with 5[KHz] switching frequency are presented and correction of power factor and reduction of total harmonic distortion was established.
