A Comprehensive Survey of TPM for Defense Systems

  • Lately, there has been a notable surge in the defense industry's efforts to develop highly advanced intelligent systems. These systems encompass sophisticated computing platforms that boast an impressive level of autonomy. However, it's important to acknowledge that these very systems are not impervious to vulnerabilities stemming from both hardware and software tampering. Within the context of this discourse, our focus of the survey is directed towards the hardware security module. This component stands out for its capability to offer a significantly heightened level of protection when compared to conventional software-based techniques. Through the lens of this paper, we embark on a comprehensive survey of Trusted Platform Module (TPM), a hardware security module, shedding light on its potential to fortify the defense against threats that emerge from various vectors of attack.

  • This paper presents an intuitive and powerful way to study and design motor drive control. The control of induction motors, as most widely used machines, is discussed. Thanks to ultra low latency and high fidelity Hardware-in-the-Loop systems, different aspects of up-to-date drive regulation are examined. A power stage, comprised of a grid voltage source, a rectifier, a VSC inverter and an induction motor, is emulated on the HIL platform in real time. A digital signal controller is plugged into the interface board and connected to the HIL emulation platform, without any hardware modifications. For motor control and power electronics applications, a dedicated Texas Instruments TMS320F2808 DSP is chosen. The same controller can drive an emulation platform and a real device with no modifications. Current and speed control loop test results are presented and discussed.

  • 기존의 수중음향통신모뎀은 상용 제품들을 기반으로 개발되어 수중음향통신모뎀의 기능 및 성능 구현은 가능하지만 개발 시스템을 제품화하기에는 시스템의 크기나 개발 비용 등에서 단일 플랫폼으로의 시스템 구현이 필수적으로 요구되었다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 수중음향통신모뎀의 단일 하드웨어 플랫폼을 구현함에 있어 중요한 역할을 하는 신호처리 모듈을 TigerSHARC DSP 프로세서를 이용하여 설계 및 구현하고자 한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 대형 매장 혹은 임의의 공간과 공간사이에 다른 뮤직콘텐츠를 필요로 할 때 이를 해결해 줄 수 있는 멀티 스트리밍 플랫폼에 대해 연구한다. 사용자의 인터넷 사용을 겸하기 위해 NAT를 구성하고, Multi-Channel Connection을 위한 Application 설계방법과 그에 따른 Multi Stream을 위한 Hardware Path를 구현하는 방법을 제안한다.

  • In this paper, we design the hardware platform and implement the embedded software based on the FPGA and the DSP for the automotive 77GHz FMCW radar system. This embedded software is built into the DSP as the multi-tasking architecture to support the basic target detection algorithm and the Ethernet link. The designed GUI(Graphic User Interface) provides ability to adjust parameters associated with the radar performance, to monitor signal processing results, and to download the raw received signal. The designed platform can be used to develop the optimal detection algorithms for the various applications.

  • 임베디드 시스템에서 타 업체의 요청으로 코드를 공개해야 되면 하드웨어 복사 방지 대책을 세워야 힘들게 개발한 제품을 지킬 수 있다. 보안 IC칩을 사용하지 않고, 핵심코드와 하드웨어 복사를 방지하면서 펌웨어 코드를 공개할 수 있는 보안 플랫폼을 제안하고자 한다. Cortex-M3기반 MCU의 내부 Flash의 영역을 IAP(In-application programming)와 APP(Application)으로 나누어, IAP영역에는 핵심코드와 보안인증 코드를 배치하고, APP에서는 타업체의 개발자가 공개된 핵심코드의 Prototype을 사용하여 구현한 Application이 배치되는 플랫폼을 제안한다.

  • Tidal generation has become one of environmentally friendly new and renewable future sources of energy. The Sihwa Tidal Power Plant in South Korea, which was imported from abroad by turnkey type in 2011, connected to the power system in 2012, and is currently under commercial operation. However, leading companies are reluctant to disclose their technologies associated with the control systems and are not cooperative in technology transfers, making it a high priority to develop core technologies in South Korea. In order to develop a start stop control system for tidal generation, this paper presents the optimal algorithm for decision making and prototype of hardware design. First, control systems in tidal power, such as plant operation control, data interfaces between systems, monitoring and control points of the control system, are analyzed. The software development and PC based emulator processes for optimization algorithm processing are described. Finally, verification of the algorithm implementation, hardware platform for start stop control device, and implementation of prototype control system were discussed.

  • AI 서비스를 제공하는 IoT 응용이 늘어나면서 자율적인 학습 및 추론을 지원하는 다양한 하드웨어와 소프트웨어들이 개발되고 있다. 하지만 하드웨어마다 특성 및 제약조건이 상이하여 IoT 응용 개발에 어려움이 가중됨에 따라 통합된 플랫폼의 개발이 요구되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 IoT 기술뿐만 아니라 인공 신경망 및 스파이킹 신경망 기반의 컴포넌트를 오픈 플랫폼과 호환되도록 자동 생성하는 도구를 제안한다. 제안하는 컴포넌트 자동 생성 도구는 IoT 및 AI의 가상 컴포넌트 계층을 통해 다양한 하드웨어의 특성에 맞는 컴포넌트 생성을 용이하게 하고 자동으로 오픈 플랫폼에 적용할 수 있도록 지원한다.

  • We have developed a multi band digital hearing aid algorithm emphasizing feedback cancellation and a hardware module to evaluate the performance of our algorithm. The hearing aids should be able to compensate for individual hearing loss characteristics of hearing impaired person. Thus hearing aids need the function of multi-bands amplification and the capabilities of feedback cancellation that can remove howling caused by acoustic feedback. In this paper, we proposed a digital hearing aid algorithm which has multi-bands compensation using modified discrete cosine transform (MDCT) and can efficiently remove acoustic feedbacks. Moreover, we have developed digital hearing aid hardware module, which can evaluate hearing aid algorithms in real time operation. The developed algorithm and hardware module were verified through computer simulation and clinical tests. Through operational experiments, good performances in real time operation environment and an efficient howling cancellation were also observed. The developed hardware module can operate in stable condition and it is expected to become a good hardware platform for developing hearing aid algorithms.

  • Kinematic and dynamic characteristics of a Stewart platform based parallel manipulators are fixed once they are constructed. Thus parallel manipulators with various configurations are required to meet a variety of applications. In this research a parallel manipulator with variable platform (PMVP) has been developed, in which the length of the arm linking the platform center to the platform-leg contact point can be varied by an actuator. The workspace of the PMVP is larger than that of a traditional Stewart platform and especially the range in which the maximum orientation angles can be maintained is significantly expanded. Furthermore, the characteristics of force and moment transmission between the legs and platform can be adjusted to meet the requirements of various tasks. Kinematic and dynamics analysis was performed to verify the usefulness of the PMVP and the actual hardware was built to demonstrate the feasibility.
