가솔린기관의 시동시 기관 제어변수가 배기가스온도 및 시동성에 미치는 영향에 관한 실험적 연구 (Effects of Engine Control Variables on Exhaust Gas Temperature and Stability during Cranking Operation of an SI Engine)

  • Raising exhaust gas temperature during cold-start period is very crucial to improve emission performance of SI engines because it enhances the performance of catalyst in the early stage of engine start. In this study, control variables such as ignition timing, idle speed actuator(ISA) opening and fuel injection duration were extensively investigated to analyze variations in exhaust gas temperature and engine stability during cranking period. Experimental results showed that spark timing affected engine stability and exhaust gas temperature but the effects were small. On the other hand, shortened injection duration and increased ISA opening led to a significant increase in exhaust gas temperature. Under such conditions, increase in cranking time was also observed, showing that it becomes harder to start the engine. Based on these observations, a pseudo fuel-air ratio, defined as a ratio of fuel injection time to degree of ISA opening, was introduced to analyze the experimental results. In general, decrease in pseudo fuel-air ratio raised exhaust gas temperature with the cost of stable and fast cranking. On the contrary, an optimal range of the pseudo fuel-air ratio was found to be between 0.3 to 0.5 where higher exhaust gas temperatures can be obtained without sacrificing the engine stability.

Effects of Edible Insect Powders as Meat Partial Substitute on Physicochemical Properties and Storage Stability of Pork Patties

  • In this study, physicochemical and antioxidant properties, and storage stability (1, 3, and 7 days) of pork patties added with edible insect powders (EIP) of four species (Larvae of Tenenbrio molitor, Protaetia brevitarsis seulensis, Allomyrina dichotoma, and Gryllus bimaculatus) as meat partial substitutes were investigated. Twenty percent of each EIP was added to pork patties, and four treatments were prepared. On the other hand, two control groups were set, one with 0.1 g of ascorbic acid and the other without anything. Adding EIP decreased water content but increased protein, fat, carbohydrate, and ash contents. In addition, the use of EIP increased the water holding capacity and texture properties as well as decreased the cooking loss. However, the sensory evaluation and storage stability were negatively affected by the addition of EIP. The 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl radical scavenging activity had a positive effect on storage stability. It is believed that the addition of EIP resulted in high antioxidants due to the presence of polyphenol compounds in EIP. These results indicate that EIP has great potential to be used as meat partial substitute to improve the quality improvement and antioxidant in pork patties. However, in order to improve storage stability and consumer preference, further research is needed to apply it to patties by reducing the amount of EIP or adding auxiliary ingredients.

2차원 한계평형 및 사면안정해석을 통한 지오텍스타일 튜브 복합구조물의 안정성 분석 (Stability Behavior of Geotextile Tube Composite Structure by Slope Stability and 2-D Limit Equilibrium Analysis)

  • 지오텍스타일 튜브공법은 지오텍스타일의 필터 및 배수기능을 복합적으로 활용하는 공법으로 과거의 모래주머니, 훼브릭 폼, 게비언 등의 개념에서 최근 수리학적 채움기법을 적용하여 해안침식방지 구조물, 슬러지의 탈수, 교량축조를 위한 가도, 여수로 공사를 위한 임시구조물 등의 신구조물 공법으로 자리매김 하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 지오텍스타일 튜브와 지반재료와의 복합구조물의 안정거동에 대하여 2차원 한계평형, 침투해석 및 사면안정해석방법을 통하여 분석하였다. 2차원 한계평형이론을 통하여 설계영향인자 및 현장여건에 따른 지오텍스타일 튜브 복합구조물의 지반공학적 안정성을 분석하였으며, 사면안정해석을 위하여 일차적으로 부정류 침투해석을 통하여 조위변동에 따른 복합구조물내의 간극수압분포를 분석하였다. 최종적으로 범용 사면안정해석 프로그램인 Slope/W를 이용한 침투분석결과와 연동하여 사면안정해석을 수행하였다. 2차원 한계평형해석 및 평면변형해석 방법을 통한 분석결과, 세가지 형태의 지오텍스타일 튜브 복합구조물 모두 안정성을 확보하고 있으며, 지오텍스타일 튜브 구조물 자체는 수위조건 변화에 대해서는 크게 영향이 없이 안정한 것으로 도출되었다.

프로펠러 후류 간섭 효과를 고려한 투척식 무인기 롤 모멘트 예측 (Prediction of Rolling Moment for a Hand-Launched UAV Considering the Interference Effect of Propeller Wake)

  • 본 논문에서는 CFD 기법을 활용하여 전기체 형상의 투척식 무인기 형상에 대해 고속 회전하는 프로펠러와 그로 인해 생성된 후류 간섭 효과를 고려한 비정상 유동해석을 수행하였다. 또한 다양한 투척식 이륙 조건에서 롤 모멘트 평형에 요구되는 에일러론 타각을 정확하게 예측하기 위해 실제 조종면 회전을 고려한 유동해석이 수행되었다. 투척식 소형 무인기의 경우 초기 이륙상태에서 롤 안정성을 증대시키기 위해 적절한 초기 에일러론 설정을 활용하는 것이 유용한 방식이며, 구축된 공력 데이터베이스를 사용하여 다양한 이륙속도와 받음각 조건들에 대해 롤 모멘트를 상쇄시킬 수 있는 에일러론 타각 조건들이 빠르게 예측 가능함을 보였다.

무지 다지증 III, IV형의 치료에 Bilhaut-Cloquet 방법의 적극적 이용 (Extended Indications of Bilhaut-Cloquet Procedure for Type III and IV of Duplicated Thumb)

  • Purpose: The authors applied Bilhaut-Cloquet procedure to Wassel type III and IV duplicated thumb, which was limited to patients with Wassel type I, II. This procedure was applied in order to improve the growth potential, range of joint motion, joint stability and cosmetic outcome. Methods: Sixteen patients received Bilhaut-Cloquet procedures to correct duplicated thumbs from May, 2005 to December, 2010. Seven patients were Wassel type III, nine patients were type IV. This procedure was applied not only to balanced type, but also unbalanced type or convergent type. Five patients were balanced type and eleven patients were unbalanced type. Convergent type of Wassel type IV was three. Sex ratio was the same, mean age at the operation was 20.1 months old (8~52 months old). Angular deformity, joint stability and range of joint motion and cosmetic outcome were considered together and estimated in Tada score. Also, postoperative subjective satisfaction score of the parents was evaluated by a 100-points scale. Results: Mean subjective satisfaction scored 75 points at 28 months after the operation. Radiologic study showed bony union of proximal phalangeal bone and stable joint in all patients. Range of motion was mean 20 degrees in interphalangeal joint and mean 73 degrees in metacarpophalangeal joint. Tada score showed 'good' in eleven patients (68.8%), 'fair' in three patients (18.7%) and 'poor' in two patients (12.5%). In seven patients those who were able to follow up for a long term showed no significant difference in length of proximal and distal phalangeal bones compared to the opposite thumb. Conclusion: Bilhaut-Cloquet procedure can be applied not only to balanced type of Wassel type III, IV duplicated thumb, but also to unbalanced type or convergent type that focused on functional reconstruction and cosmetic improvement.

자아정체감과 외모를 통한 자기개념 및 개성에 관한 의복 심리학적 연구 (A Study of the Relationships between Ego Identity, Self-perceptions of Dressing Competence and Dressing Conformity)

  • This study investigated the relationship between ego identity within the framework of Erikson's psychosocial theory of ego development and self-perceptions of dressing competence and dressing conformity. The following problems have been investigated in this study. 1. The relationship between ego identity and self-perceptions of dressing competence. 2. The relationships between the subcategories of identity levels and self-perceptions of dressing competence. 3. The relationship between ego identity and self-perceptions of dressing conformity. Data were obtained from 242 freshman and 156 senior college students, who each received an ego identity scale and self-perceptions of dressing competence and dressing conformity scale. The statistical analyses of the obtained data included calculation of the Chi-Square ($X^2$) and Means (M). This study's finding were as follows; 1. A significant positive relationship was found between ego identity level and self-perceptions of dressing competence. 2. Significant relationships were found between most of the subcategories of ego identity level and self-perceptions of dressing competence, the exceptions being stability, uniqueness, sense of self. 3. Significant relationships were not found between ego identity and self-perceptions of dressing conformity but were found to be significantly related uniqueness and self assertiveness on one hand were found to be significantly related to self-perceptions of dressing individuality and stability on the other hand to self-perceptions of dressing conformity.

폐광지역을 통과하는 고속철도터널의 안정성 평가 (Stability Analysis of High Speed Railway Tunnel Passing Through the Abandoned Mine Area)

  • 고속철도터널 시공전에 폐광된 광산의 채굴공동의 변형거동이 철도터널의 안정성에 미치는 영향을 조사하고자 이지역에서 지질조사, 암반의 공학적 평가 및 평가요소에 대한 다중회귀분석, 수치해석 입력자료의 취득을 위한 많은 조사를 수행하였다. 암반의 공학적 분류결과 절리면에 대한 상태가 RMR 값을 결정하는데 가장 중요한 변수로 나타났고, Q값을 결정하는데는 절리군의 수가 가장 중요한 변수인 것으로 분석되었다. FLAC에 의한 해석 결과 고속철도구간 서측 하부 50 m지점에 위치한 채굴적의 변형거동은 암반의 역학적 특성에 따라 변형양상은 다를 수 있으나 고속철도터널에 침하성 변위를 유발시킬 가능성이 있을 것으로 판단되었다. 그러나 채굴적을 광체와 같은 역학적 특성을 갖는 재료로 충전 시켰을 때 침하성 변위는 나타나지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

흡수성 고정판과 나사를 이용한 중수골 골절의 치료 (Treatment of Metacarpal Bone Fracture Using Biodegradable Plates and Screws)

  • Purpose: Metacarpal fractures are common hand injury that may require operative intervention to ensure adequate reduction and stabilization. Traditionally, titanium miniplate was used for rigid fixation of bone fractures. However, the use of permanent plate lends itself to multiple complications such as infection, exposure of the hardware, tendon adhesions, tendon rupture, prolonged pain, bony atrophy and osteoporosis (stress shielding), metal sensitization, and palpation under the skin. This study evaluated the usefulness and stability of biodegradable plates and screws for treatment of metacarpal bone fractures. Methods: There was 17 patients who had surgery for metacarpal bone fracture from April 2007 to June 2010. All patients had open reduction and internal fixation. We used absorbable plates and screws (Inion CPS$^{(R)}$) for internal fixation. Postoperative results were assessed with x-ray. Stability of plates and screws, healing process and its complications were observed by clinical and radiographic assessment. Results: All patients were successfully reduced of bone fracture, and fixations with absorbable plates and screws were stable. The mean follow up period was 7.1 months. 2 patients complained postoperative pain, but they were relieved with analgesics. All patients experienced transient stiffness, but they were relieved with active assistive range of motion after removal of splint. No patients suffered complications which could be occurred by using metallic plate. Conclusion: There was no critical complications such as re-fracture or nonunion among patients. No patients suffered side effects related with metallic implants. Biodegradable implants can offer clinically stable and attractive alternative to metallic implants to stabilize metacarpal bone fractures in the hand.

무릎 팔굽혀펴기와 표준 팔굽혀펴기 시 손 모양에 따른 어깨 근육의 근활성도 비교 (Comparison of Muscle Activities in Upper Extremity Muscles During the Knee-flexed and Standard Push-ups With Different Hand Shape)

  • Background: Push-up are effective exercises for shoulder stability. Previous studies have documented the effects of support plane and hand position and width on muscle activities during a push-up. Objects: This study aimed to investigate the changes in muscle activities in the upper extremity when performing the standard and the knee-flexed push-up with different hand shapes. Methods: A total of twenty-six healthy males participated in this study. Three different hand shapes (finger abduction, finger adduction, and fists) and two types of push-up posture (standard and knee-flexed push-up) were set as the independent variables. Electrograms were used to measure the muscle activity of the upper trapezius (UT), triceps brachii (TB), pectoralis major (PM), and serratus anterior (SA). Each participant performed the randomly assigned push-up to the sound of the metronome. The mixed-effect linear regression model was used to detect the changes in muscle activities after changing the hand shape and push-up posture. Statistical significance was set at α = 0.05. Results: The UT muscle activity was statistically significantly higher when performing push-up with fists than finger abduction (p = 0.035) or finger adduction (p = 0.044). During the standard push-up, the muscle activity in all muscles was that the push-up with fists showed the highest muscle activity compared to the finger abduction (p < 0.01) and finger adduction (p < 0.01). Regardless of the shape of the hand, UT had the lowest muscle activity compared to other muscles (p < 0.001). In contrast, the SA muscle had the highest muscle activity among four muscles during the standard push-up. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, we suggest hand shape is related to the difficulty level of push-up either in the standard or the knee-flexed push-up, especially in the push-up with fists. In addition, knee push-up can be recommended as shoulder muscle-strengthening exercises for individuals with low shoulder muscle strength.

Acid Stability of Anti-Helicobacter pyroli IgY in in Aqueous Polyol Solution

  • IgY was separated from a hen's egg yolk that was immunized with Helicobacter pyroli. The anti-H. pyroli IgY activity at acidic pH and the suppressive effect of polyol on acid-induced inactivation of IgY were investigated. Sorbitol and xylitol were used as polyols. IgY was quite stable at pH 5~7. Irreversible inactivation of IgY was observed at pH below 4, and proceeded rapidly at pH below 3. The acid stability of IgY was enhanced in the presence of 30% sorbitol or above. In a 50% aqueous sorbitol solution, an acid-induced inactivation was almost completely suppressed at pH 3. However, the improvement of IgY activity was not observed in the aqueous xylitol solution. IgY showed almost the same activity as native IgY when sucrose was substituted for sorbitol. On the other hand, the xylitol replacement with sucrose did not enhance the acid stability of IgY. The acid-induced inactivation of IgY was related to tryptophyl fluorescence. Fluorescence emission spectra suggested that structural changes near the tryptophan residues may occur under acidic conditions. An increase in sorbitol concentration induced a blue shift. The fluorescence emission of IgY in a 50% sorbitol solution had a peak at 330 nm, which was the same emission peak that was exhibited by native IgY. Sorbitol could, therefore, be used as a good stabilizer of IgY under acidic conditions.
