Recently Advanced Static Var Compensators(ASVC) or STATic Synchronous COMpesator(STATCOM) has been considered as a next generation reactive power controller. [2] STATCOM is a voltage source inverter(VSI) based static VAr compensator with only small capacitors on the do side. The main function of the STATCOM is to keep the bus voltage magnitude at the desired value. [1] This paper compares the PAM STATCOM with PWM STATCOM. The characteristics and the control method of each model is analyzed. And the simulation of STATCOMs based on the above two methods was presented.

An omegatron mass spectrometer was designed and fabricated. Experiments have been performed to demonstrate the instrument's operation in the ECR plasma device. By using this analyzer, mass spectra have been obtained in hydrogen plasmas, and typical results are presented. In the plasma omegatron, downstreaming plasma generated by ECR are entering the analyzer through a smsll floating aperture. We employ a biasing technique to reduce the ion velocity along the magnetic field and to keep the ions from drifting to the side pintos, and thus achieved improved ion collection and sensitivity. Mass spectra obtained show that main positive ion components are $H_3{^+}$ and $H_2{^+}$ with the density ratio of $H_2{^+}$ to $H_3{^+}$ $\simeq$ 0.2.

In this paper, I propose the field emission tip for the E-beam array system that is made by carbon nanotubes(CNT). CNT is one of the most expected future materials, because of its great mechanical, chemical and electrical characteristics. So CNT can be used for many applications such as electron emitter, sensor, single electron transistor and AFM tip. And CNT will be applied to our E-beam array system as field emission tip so we will improve the system's electrical characteristics.

The anti-inflammatory activity of acetylsalicylic acid maltol ester (aspalatone), a potential anti-thombotic agent, was studied using the several experimental animal models of inflammation. By oral administration, aspalatone was found to possess the weak anti-inflammatory activity in models of an acute inflammation, in which aspalatone showed approximately one-third to one-fourth of the anti-inflammatory activity of aspirin. Aspalatone (200 mg/kg/day) and aspirin (50 mg/kg/day), however, did not show the inhibitory activity against granuloma fomation and adjuvant-induced arthritis.

이상의 결과를 요약하면 참조기(Pseudosciaena manchurica)와 꽁치(Cololabis saira)를 감장(監藏), 냉장(冷藏), 냉동(冷凍)하였을 경우에 참조기를 냉장(冷藏)한 것이 가장 효과적이었고 그 외는 거의 같은 결과를 나타내었다. 즉 참조기는 냉장(冷藏)하였을 경우가 단백(蛋白)의 손실(損失)을 제일 적게 한다는것을 알 수 있다.

In this paper we prove the existence of a special type of multivortex solutions of $SU (N)_g \times U(1)_l$ Chern-Simons model. More specifically we prove existence of solutions of the self-duality equations for $(\Phi(x), j =1, \cdots, N$ has the same zeroes. In this case we find that the equation can be reduced to the single semilinear elliptic partial differential equations studied by Caffarelli and Yang.
