This work applies a structural analysis method based on an analytical solution from the Fourier series which transforms a half-range cosine expansion into a static solution involving plated structures. Two sub-matrices of in-plane and plate-bending problems are also formulated and coupled with the prescribed boundary conditions for these variables, thereby providing a convenient basis for a numerical solution. In addition, the plate connection are introduced by describing the connection between common boundary continuity and equilibrium. Moreover, a simple computation scheme is proposed. Numerical results are then compared with finite element results, demonstrating the numerical scheme's versatility and accuracy.
This paper is shown that the impulse and unit step response of second-order system can be computed by the analytic methods using Laplace transform. Also, the transient response specifications are explicitly formulated by the peak undershoot and maximum overshoot of the step response. Three different second-order systems are investigated: prototype system, system with LHP(left half plane) real zero, and system with RHP(right half plane) real zero. Based on these analytic results, this paper presents the sufficient and necessary conditions for the second-order linear SISO(single-input/single-output) stable system to have the nonovershooting or monotone nondecreasing step response.
The right half plane (RHP) zeros may cause severe problems, such as undershoots, oscillations and time delay in the transient response of the systems. In this paper, we formulate a linear quadratic type problem to deal with the effects of the RHP zeros in the nonminimum phase systems. Based on the LQ formulation, this paper shows the trade-off relation between undershoot and rising time performances in nonminimum phase systems by using a new performance index which consists of new state and tracking error. And performances of the proposed method are shown via computer simulations.
A Stochastic line source model is developed to simulate the seismic wave field generated during the rupture propagation process along a fault plane of which length is much larger than its width. The fault plane is assumed to consist of randomly distributed slip zones and barriers and each slip zone is modeled as a point source. By combining the newly developed source model with wave propagation analysis method in a layered 3-D visco-elastic half space, synthetic seismograms are obtained. The calculated accelerograms due to vertical dip slip and strike slip line sources are presented.
The mobility and diffusivity in an edge dislocation in an FCC crystal formed by the removal of one half of a (100) plane were evaluated in an applied field by analyzing a vacancy tight binding model using Stark's matrix technique. A model of an edge dislocation in an FCC crystal was constructed for a [100] Burgers vector where vacancy transport along the edge dislocation in an FCC crystal was constructed for a [100] Burgers vector where vacancy transport along the edge of the extrac half plane of ions was considered. The model considered a tight binding approximation of the vacancy to the compressed region of the core and carried the calculation to the limit of an infinite length of dislocation. The diffusivity and the ratio of mobility to diffusivity were found to increase without bounds in the limit where the correlation factor becomes zero. In contrast, as the correlation factor became unity, the diffusivity became zero and the ratio of mobility to diffusivity became unity associated with the uncorrelated limit of 1/kT. This implied that the phenomenon was not unique to the crystal structure but was unique to edge dislocations with vacancy tight binding.
In this paper, we study right half-plane harmonic mappings $f_0$ and f, where $f_0$ is fIxed and f is such that its dilatation of a conformal automorphism of the unit disk. We obtain a sufficient condition for the convolution of such mappings to be convex in the direction of the real axis. The result of the paper is a generalization of the result of by Li and Ponnusamy [11], which itself originates from a problem posed by Dorff et al. in [7].

The stress singularity of a sharp wedge contacting a half plane can be avoided by changing the wedge shape. Shape optimization is accomplished with the geometric strain method (GSM), an optimality criterion method. Several numerical examples are provided for different materials in the wedge and half plane to avoid stress singularity neal the sharp corner of the wedge. Optimum wedge shapes are obtained and critical corner angles are compared with the angles from analytical contact mechanics. Numerical results are well matched to analytical and experimental results. It is shown that shape optimization by the geometric strain method is a useful tool to reshape the wedge and to avoid a stress singulatiry. The method applies to more general geometries where the singular behavior would be difficult to avoid by classical means.

This paper investigated the errect of the right-half-plane zero on stability in the buck-boost DC-DC converter which is one type of the switching regulator and the stability region for the variation of the output current is obtained by evaluating the feedback gain. And it is clarified that the damping ratio decreases gradually by increase of the feedback loop gain and the regulation system of the converter becomes unstable, and from the transient response analysis we obtainedthe stability region about this converter. From above result it is known that the stability decreases by the existence of the right-half-plane zero. For the improvement of stability, we carried out one pole compensation in feedback circuit and obtained the avaliable stability region in relation to the gain bandwidth product from the stability and transient response analysis. These results were established experiment.
The thermomagnetic effect on plane wave propagation at the liquid-solid interface with nonclassical thermoelasticity is investigated. It is assumed that liquid-solid half-space is under initial stress. Numerical computations are performed for the developed amplitude ratios of P, SV and thermal waves under Cattaneo-Lord-Shulman theory, Green-Lindsay theory and classical thermoelasticity. The system of developed equations is solved by the application of the MATLAB software at different angles of incidence for Green and Lindsay model. The effect of initial stress and magnetic field in the lower half-space are discussed and comparison is made in LS, GL and CT models of thermoelasticity. In the absence of magnetic field, the obtained results are in agreement with the same results obtained by the relevant authors. This study would be useful for magneto-thermoelastic acoustic device field.
In the present paper, we have considered a layered medium of two semi-infinite nonlocal elastic solids with intermediate transversely isotropic magnetothermoelastic solid. The intermediate slab is of uniform thickness with the effects of two temperature, rotation and Hall current and with and without energy dissipation. A plane longitudinal or transverse wave propagating through one of the nonlocal elastic solid half spaces, is made incident upon transversely isotropic slab and it results into various reflected and refracted waves. The amplitude ratios of various reflected and refracted waves are obtained by using appropriate boundary conditions. The effect of nonlocal parameter on the variation of various amplitude ratios with angle of incidence are depicted graphically. Some cases of interest are also deduced.
