The purpose of study were 1) to find whether brand loyalty is reasonable measurement for market segmentation or not, 2) to know consumers' purchasing behavior by marketsegmentation, 3) to draw preference jean product. Objects were 462 high school students who live in Seoul and random sampling referred from "Korean school guide book". The questionnaires were selected from the previous studies and various bibliographies. For statistic analysis, percentage, average, ANOVA, x2-test, Duncantest, paired t-test, and multiple regression were used by SAS package. The results of this study were as follows. 1) Consumers were classified into affective brand loyalty group, familiar brand loyalty group, habitual brand loyalty group, brand interest but no brand loyalty group, and no brand loyalty group. 2) There were notable differences in clothes purchasing behavior variable through market segments' purchasing (requency, price. 3) The most Prefered jean Product is 80,000 won, domestic well-known brand, baggy style and preferable jean product shows different when it classified brand loyalty.d loyalty.
This study was conducted for the purpose of analyzing volunteer workers' perceptions of and attitudes toward the behavior problems of the elderly residents after caring for the residents voluntarily at low-income nursing homes. Eleven male and female volunteers ranging from age 19 to 52 were asked how they felt about the elderly residents' behavior problems and what kind of behavioral problems they had experienced after doing volunteer works in the three chosen facilities. In particular, they were expected to explain what emotional changes they experienced during their volunteer service. In this study, it was observed that most of the elderly subjects experienced three categories of behavior problems: habitual, repetitious and unreasonable activities caused by the elderly residents' life span backgrounds, unexpected and/or abrupt behaviors resulting from gradual cognitive impairments, and physiological, awkward activities caused from gradual senility. The volunteers tend to believe that the elderly residents are naturally expected to act positively, since they have been provided with well- planned, regular care services such as bathing, counseling, activity programs, and religious guidances. On the other hand, some respondents stated that their experiences at the nursing homes caused them to form negative images of the elderly; they feel that the elderly are not helpful for giving advices on critical decisions, guiding and encouraging their daily lives, and offering any positive influences toward their own lives. Rather, they find themselves getting too much stressed as a result of their intimate contacts with demented or senile residents. Overall, in this study, it is proposed that education for confronting sudden abrupt behavior problems should be intensified more for female volunteers, since they tend to be more susceptible to emotional harassment resulting from the problem behaviors. It is also proposed that young volunteers who have not been systematically trained for confronting aggressive behaviors need to be separately assigned their roles in order to minimize the potential of confronting unseemly situations resulting from male residents whose mental health has deteriorated. Furthermore, it is also suggested that the combination of leisure-related activities for healthy residents and stressful intimate services for the frail residents be systematically planned and implanted for the volunteer program so that the volunteers can lessen the chances of suddenly finding themselves confronted with extremely abrupt agitations.
The purpose of this study was to explore the subjective opinions related to of smoking cessation behavior of smokers. The research period was from Nov. 1, 1998 to May. 7. 1999. The research method used was Q-methodology. The process of the research was as follows : 1. Collection of concourse The statement of self-reference was derived from face to face interviews with 15 adult smokers Statement were categorized by researcher according to semantics 2. Extraction of Q-sample 30 of the self reference statement from categories of the Q-population were selected. 3. Selection of P-sample 31 of smokers were selected by consideration of diversity in sociodemographic background. 4. Based on a 1 to 9 point scale, the selected university students were made to participate in Q-sorting. 5. Analysis of Q-type was obtained by use of the QUANAL program. The results of this study reavealed as follows : There are three type of smoking cessation behavior of Korean smokers. 1. The first type focused on one's own initiative to smoking cessation. 2. The second type focused on environmental factor related to smoking cessation. 3. The third type was habitual smoker. They adhere to smoke and are not ready to smoking cessation. It is suggested that the results of this study may contribute to the development strategies for the purpose of increasing the incidence of smoking cessation of smokers
The mobile game industry has become the one of the fastest growing industries with its astonishing market size. Despite its industrial importance, a few studies empirically considered actual purchasing behavior in mobile games rather than the intention to purchase. Therefore, this paper investigates the key drivers of in-app purchase by analyzing the game-log dataset provided from a mobile game company in Korea. Specifically, the effects of goal-directed, habitual and social-interacted playing behavior are analyzed on in-app purchase. Furthermore, the recursive relationship with playing and purchasing behaviorsis also considered. The result shows that all suggested factors have positive impacts on in-app purchase in the current period. In addition, the effect of previous habitual playing has a positive impact, but the effect of social-interacted playing and in-app purchase in the previous period have negative impacts on in-app purchase of the current period. These findings can improve our understanding of the impact of game playing on in-app purchase in mobile games, and provide meaningful insights for researchers and practitioners.
Drug dependence deals a heavy socioeconomic burden to the society. For adolescents, the damage from drug dependence is greater than adults considering their higher susceptibility to drug effect and increasing chance for violence leading to criminal punishment process. Habitual drug use depends on genetic and environmental factors and the complex interactions between the two. Mammalian model systems have been useful in understanding the neurochemical and cellular impacts of abused drugs on specific regions of the brain, and in identifying the molecular targets of drugs. More elucidation is required whether biological effects of drugs actually cause the habitual dependence at the cellular level. Although there is much insight available on the nature of drug abuse problems, none of the systems designed to help drug dependent individuals is efficient in screening functional ingredients of the drug, and thus resulting in the failure of helping drug dependent individuals recover from drug dependence. Alternative model systems draw the attention of researchers, such as the invertebrate model systems of nematodes (Caenorhabditis elegans) and fruit flies (Drosophila melanogaster). These models should provide new insight into the mechanisms leading to the behavior of drug users (even functional studies analyzing molecular mechanism), and screening useful components to help remove drug dependence among drug users. The relatively simple anatomy and gene expression of the invertebrate model systems should enable researchers to coordinate current knowledge on drug abuse. Furthermore, the invertebrate model systems should facilitate advance in experiments on the susceptibility of specific genetic backgrounds and the interaction between genetic factors to drug dependence.
Objectives : This study was to investigate the level of oral health concern and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products and to determine the relationship between oral health concern and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products. Methods : The subjects were 99 male(29.7%) and 234 female(70.3%), who were over 20 years with mean age of 39.6 years. The data was collected using personal interviews and a self administrated questionnaire from August 1 to September 30, 2008. Oral health concern was measured using the 7-items, and the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products was measured using the 7-items. The data were analysed with t-test, one-way ANOVA and multiple logistic regression using the SPSS 15.0 windows. Results : Regarding oral health concern, the subjects was a mean of 2.86 out of a maximum 5 points. There were differences in the level of oral health concern according to the purchase behavior of environmental friendly agricultural products(experience, period, frequency, price, weight). Conclusions : These results suggest that the strategies of habitual use environmental friendly agricultural products to put in practice oral health promoting behavior is needed to improve quality of life in people.
This study is conducted to examine how purchase behaviors of consumers have affected by the promotion of coupons in internet shopping mall. This study was conducted with the purpose of identifying the differences in purchase behavior based on consumer' s perception and experience of internet shopping mall coupons, and based on consumers' perception of cost and value of coupons, using a theoretic framework presented in previously conducted studies. The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, based on the perception of coupons, there were significant differences in intent to use and intent to re-use at the time when coupons are offered, and at the time when coupons are offered, no significant differences were found between the level of interest and the importance of coupon at the time of visiting the shopping mall; however, significant differences were found in the overall purchase behavior based on perception of coupons. Second, when overall differences m purchase behavior based on experience in coupon use was observed, having experience in using coupons showed a higher average than did having no experience in using coupons, showing a significant difference. It was found that compared to those without experience in using coupons, those with experience with coupons had higher intent to use at the time when coupon is offered, intent to re-use at the time when coupon is offered, and higher level of purchase behavior in the importance of coupons at the time of visiting the shopping mall. Third, when relationship between purchase behaviors, cost of coupon, and perception of convenience was observed, a clear static relationship was found. This suggests that as the cost and perception of convenience of coupon increases, purchase behavior also increases. Such result suggests that there is a difference in purchase behavior based on experience in coupon use. When relationship of purchase behavior by variables of cost of coupon and perception of convenience is observed, it has a positive relationship with the perception that the use of coupon includes saving money, financial help, enjoyment of use, habitual use, has a short effective date, and has a negative relationship with the perception that it saves little money and is a waste of time. Therefore, it can be seen that purchase behavior has the highest relationship with enjoyment of coupon use and habitual coupon use. Such results suggest that purchase behavior will be significantly influenced based on cost of coupon and perception of convenience.
Purpose. The purpose of this study was to identify the stage of change of smoking cessation behavior and investigate factors associated with the stage of smoking cessation behavior according to the transtheoretical model. Methods. The participants, 297 smokers & quitters were selected by a stratified random sampling from 127 high school sophomore students in B city. Data were collected from April 6th to 16th, in 2002 using the structured self-report questionnaire. Results. The subjects were distributed in each stage of change of smoking cessation behavior: there were 46 subjects (15.5%) in precontemplation, 73 subjects (24.6%) in contemplation, 67 subjects(22.3%) in preparation, 56 subjects (18.5%) in action, 55 subjects (18.5%) in maintenance. Compared to the precontemplation and contemplation, people in preparation tended to smoke daily more and smoked for a shorter time, and as precontemplation progressed to the maintenance, past 1 year smoking cessation frequency increased and friends smoking decreased. Smoking onset age was the earliest in preparation, and the latest in maintenance. Helping relationships and self relationships are used a lot in precontemplation and also in contemplation. In preparation, self liberation and helping relationships are used a lot, in action, self liberation and helping relationships, and in maintenance, self liberation and environmental reevaluation. At each stage, the score of negative affect situation was the highest, but the one of negative affect situation, positive social situation, habitual strength, weight control decreased as precontemplation progressed to the maintenance. While the score of social pros and coping pros decreased with increasing stage, the one of cons tended to increase. Through stepwise discriminant analysis, it was found that social pros, smoking onset age, delf-libration were the most influencing powers among factors associated with the stages of smoking cessation behavior. Conclusions. This study suggested that, in developing an effective smoking cessation intervention for adolescents, all the stage of a client's cessation had to be assessed prior to applying intervention programs. In addition, the results of this study will become a pillar of smoking cessation program planning and application.
Purpose: The study investigated the effect of adolescent health behavior on the prevalence of current allergic diseases. Methods: The subjects were 57,303 middle and high school youth. Data were analyzed using Rao-Scott χ2 test and complex sample logistic regression analysis. Results: While controlling the affect of the general characteristics of the subjects, health behaviors affecting the current prevalence of allergic diseases were smoking, drinking, physical activity, eating habits, drug abuse, and mental health. Smoking behaviors affecting the current prevalence of allergic diseases were lifetime smoking experience, smoking days, liquid e-cigarette lifetime smoking experience, number of liquid electronic cigarette smoking days, e-cigarette lifetime smoking experience, e-cigarette smoking days, amount of smoking, second-hand smoking and drinking behaviors were lifetime drinking, drinking days, the amount of drinking, and severe drinking. Variables such as physical activity exceeding 60 minutes days, intake of energy and sweet drinks, water intake, habitual drug use and mental health behavior such as stress perception, weekday sleep time, subjective sleep satisfaction, depression, suicidal thoughts/ plan/ attempts affect current allergic diseases (p<.001). Conclusion: The results showed that current allergic disease related health behaviors in Korean adolescents. Therefore, considering these factors, it may be helpful to facilitate a health promotion plan for prevention and management of such diseases and to promote evidence-based health practices at school.
