Exterior and interior design of Korean high speed train (한국형 고속전철 차량 실내외 디자인 개발)

  • This paper shows the results of exterior and interior design of a prototype test train(HSR 350X) which was developed in R&D project titled "Development of High Speed Railway Technology". The prototype test train, which has two power cars, two motorized trailers and three trailers, is now being tested on high speed line. The improved conceptual design work of a new commercial train and next generation′s train is also peformed for future needs.

  • Korean high speed train(HSR-350x) has adopted a combined electrical and mechanical(friction) braking system. Brake blending control unit(BBCU) controls each brake system to fulfill the required brake performances such as braking distance, deceleration and jerk. When the disc brake is applied in the high speed region, the wear of pad is increased rapidly. In this paper, we discuss the optimized patterns of the disc brake force from the view point of braking energy.

  • 전력변환장치를 사용하여 열차를 추진하고 열차내에 필요한 전원을 생산하는 전기철도차량은 차량 내외부에 전자파를 발생한다. 차내 전자파는 제어에 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라 승객의 인체 건강에 영향을 주며 차외 전자파는 통신선이나 선로주변 전자기기에 영향을 주게 된다. 본 논문에서는 국내 기술로 개발한 한국형 고속열차를 대상으로 차외 전자파에 대한 시험을 EN50121 규격에 따라 수행하고 그 영향을 평가한다.

  • Auxiliary power supply developed by domestic technology has very important function that not only effect on main power converter & inverter system, traction motor and train control system which are related to performance of train, but also influence on power supply for HVAC(Heat, Ventilation, Air-conditioning) and lighting device which are related to comfort of passengers. This paper shows characteristic test results of auxiliary power supply such as working condition and performance, which is associated with velocity of train, operating mode and surrounding equipment, through test running. Also it shows the results deduced from comparison analysis between designed data and manufactory test data as measuring in put voltage of auxiliary power supply. And, it propose a modification of design parameter for stabilizing operation and improving reliability.

  • In a domestic, HSR-350x which has the maximum speed 350km/h was developed and then next, the next generation high speed train which has the maximum speed 400km/h has still been developing. With developing the next generation high speed railway, there need to be a general plan to make sure of dynamic safety though the a study on the crack and failure of rail by rolling contact fatigue. Therefore, this study investigated occurring stress of rail according to the track quality, train velocity, wheel radius, track stiffness, distance between sleepers, axial force using Eisenmann's equations. For the more, via the finite element method, it investigated shear force on the rail head which could be changed by the early crack length, angle and temperature. As a result, this study confirmed the main elements which effect on the fatigue life cycle of rail.

  • Through Korean high speed train development project "G7 Leading Technology Development Project" from 1996 to 2002, HSR-350X has been developed. It can run the maximum operating speed of 350 km/h. Based on this technology, KTX-2 which will be served commercially has been developed till 2007. This paper introduces the aerodynamic analysis of the High-Speed EMU and shows the results of optimized aerodynamic nose shape design techniques and clean pantograph panhead original techniques study. These are the important parts of developments for high speed train which maximum speed is 400 km/h. Especially for decrease of tunnel micro pressure waves, the optimized nose area distributions were derived and the characteristics of micro pressure wave were analyzed. The robust optimized pantograph panhead shapes investigated to improve the performance and decrease the vortex flow which is thought to be its noise source. These shapes are clean and robust to external disturbances like unsteady accelerated flow or side wind was derived. Finally aerodynamic performances was verified with PIV and smog visualization by wind tunnel test.

  • 전기철도차량에서 발생되는 고조파전류는 각종 문제를 야기시킨다. 예를 들어 고조파전류의 발생은 인접통신선에의 유도장해를 일으키고 철도신호장애의 원인이 될 뿐만 아니라, 전원계통에 유입되는 경우에는 보호계전의 오작동을 일으키는 경우도 있다. 이에 고조파전류 발생을 줄이거나 차단하기 위하여 많은 연구가 진행되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 전기철도차량의 주행상태에 따라 차량에서 측정된 전압, 전류 값을 분석하여 고조파의 발생이 어떠한 관계가 있는지 분석하여 보았다.

  • In this paper, the combined system equation of motion, which can analyze the dynamic interaction between pantograph and catenary system, is derived by adopting absolute nodal coordinates and rigid body coordinates. The analysis results are compared with real experiment data from test running of Korean high-speed train (HSR 350x). In addition, a computation method for the dynamic stress of contact wire is presented using the derived system equation of motion. This method might be good example and significant in that the structural and multibody dynamics model can be unified into one numerical system.

  • The Korean railroad has developed as a foundation of nation's nucleus network. Nowadays Korea has entered into a new era because of the operation of KTX(Korea Train Express). As an introduction of KTX, the Korean railroad system has advanced Korean style high speed rail(HSR-350x), which is based on transfer and own technology. It is expected that the Korean rail road system has the leading design and production ability. Korea is planning to develop its own high speed railroad system until 2007. So the present task is to initiate a strategic export method for the development and value-added of Korean high speed railroad system. Furthermore this study proposes the administrative and technical policy for the basic technical research and creativeness predominance.

  • The brake system of train must posses the large braking effort in order to stop the train safely within the limited traveling distance. But, the excessive braking effort has been deteriorated the ride comfort due to high level of deceleration and jerk, and sometimes occurred the skid, because the applied braking force exceeds the allowable adhesive force. This skid causes not only to increase the stopping distance but also to deteriorate the safety of train and damage the rail surface by wheel flat. In the present paper, the braking force for disc brake of Korea High Speed Train (HSR350x) was measured through on-line test and the adhesion force was estimated by using the analytic model in the skid condition. Also, we have discussed the relationship between the actual disc brake force and the adhesion force in real skid condition.
