This paper is to implement HSDPA-CPE that can provides WiFi terminal with wireless Internet service through the connection to HSDPA wireless network. This system aims to support HSDPA interface in upstream, and WiFi and 100Mbps Ethernet interface in downstream. So, this system can provide multiple Internet customers with wireless Internet service by using WiFi terminal in subway, car, ship, and so on, and WiFi terminals that be registered in HSDPA service can be connected to Internet.

Commercial WiBro and 3G HSDPA services are launched last year in order to provide high speed wireless Internet access and multimedia service. Currently mobile communication service providers concentrate on the deployment of indoor mobile network since indoor traffic is remarkably increased. For fine indoor wireless communication, an installation of access point system via Public IP network which is called Femtocell is required. The development of indoor Femtocell system must be considered in the viewpoint of low hardware complexity, cost reduction, interlocking with WiBro/HSDPA network without change of network component and easy element management. In this paper, we review the implementation issue and technology of dual mode AP which provides WiBro and HSDPA signal to the user simultaneously. Especially, we describe on the HSDPA Femtocell standardization status and possible 3 types of HSDPA communication module development design. Furthermore we analyze the merits and demerits of each HSDPA Femtocell design type and propose a system which enables handover between indoor HSDPA Femtocell and outdoor commercial HSDPA mobile network.

Today, there are many high speed data access systems that provide the truly "anytime and anywhere" services. Especially, HSDPA (High Speed Data Packet Access), one of the main third generation mobile communication systems, provides 14.4Mbps maximum data throughput. However, HSDPA will fail to provide high data throughput in hostile multipath fading environments due to lack of LOS (Line of Sight). HAPS (High Altitude Platform Station) is one of the solutions to this problem. HAPS system not only provides Los, but it can also provide high data rate services to the conventional terrestrial systems. This paper proposes HAPS-HSDPA system model and compares performance of HSDPA and HAPS-HSDPA.

In this paper, I analyze the mobile broadband services market characterized by vertical and horizontal differentiation. Vertical differentiation as service quality differentiation is based on the transmission speed of mobile internet service and horizontal differentiation as spatial differentiation is based on the service coverage. Theoretical explanations for the competitive price policy have been developed in the game context of WiBro which represent the high quality within the limited service coverage and HSDPA which represent relatively low quality with nation-wide service. When the WiBro has a mobile broadband service quality advantage and the difference in quality is sufficiently low, the price of WiBro with limited service coverage is relatively lower than that of HSDPA. This occurs because the advantage of WiBro's vertical service differentiation is offset by the disadvantage of horizontal differentiation. The difference in the quality of mobile internet service, however, is not too high, the price of WiBro is relatively higher than that of HSDPA. Moreover, when the service quality of WiBro is sufficiently high, the low quality HSDPA service faces no demand.

IMT-2000으로 새로운 이동통신의 전기를 마련할 것으로 기대되었던 제3세대(3G) WCDMA 계열의 기술은 2006년 이후 하향 속도를 고속화시킨 HSDPA를 통해 국내외에서 급속한 서비스 확산이 전개되고 있다. 특히 최근 국내에서 HSDPA 가입자의 급속한 증가는 3G 서비스가 기존 이동통신과 달리 영상통화가 가능하며 무선 초고속인터넷을 이용할 수 있는 차별화된 특성이 수용의 영향요인으로 모두 작용한 것은 아니며, 단말기 보조금과 같은 사업자의 활발한 마케팅 활동에 따른 촉진조건이 수용의 영향요인으로 작용하였을 개연성이 높다. 그런데, 국내에서 제3세대 이동통신 서비스인 HSDPA의 수용에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 서비스의 내재적 요인과 외재적 요인을 통해 규명한 분석이 거의 없는 실정이다. 이에 본 분석에서는 기존 제2세대(2G) 서비스 대비 혁신성과 경쟁 서비스인 와이브로 대비 우위성의 서비스 차별성, 단말기 교체지원의 촉진조건과 요금부담감, 품질에 대한 비확신, 번호변경 부담감의 수용장벽이 HSDPA 서비스의 가입과 이용에 미치는 효과를 분석하였다. 분석결과, 기존 서비스 대비 혁신성, 단말기 교체지원의 촉진조건, 요금 부담감과 품질 비확신의 수용장벽이 수용의향에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며 이에 따라 HSDPA 서비스 활성화 방향을 제시하였다.

2007 년 3 월 3.5 세대인 HSDPA 의 전국 서비스가 시작되면서 HSDPA 휴대전화는 영상통화를 중심으로 한 다양한 기능으로 소비자를 유혹하고 있지만 설문조사에 의하면 HSDPA 에 대해 소비자들은 과반수 이상이 필요성을 못 느끼고 있고 3 세대에서 2 세대로의 '역(逆) 번호이동'도 꾸준히 늘고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이는 소비자들이 HSDPA 휴대전화라는 신기술에 대해 기술 수용과 혁신 저항을 동시에 하고 있는 것으로 판단된다. 따라서 기술 수용과 혁신 저항의 관점에서 연구를 진행하였다. 연구결과는 유용성, 편이성, 혁신제품의 특징, 더 좋은 제품 기대가 태도에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고 자기효능, 복잡성, 지각된 위험, 기존 제품에 태도는 태도에 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다.

Consumer needs becomes various in a mature mobile telecommunication market, while service differentiation is hard to achieve. Because of the introduction of number portability, switching barrier becomes lower and the competition among telecommunication service providers is getting fierce in order to maintain and obtain customers. Moreover, HSDPA, which is a new telecommunication service, caused the intense marketing activity for the move to the next generation customers. Under these circumstances, brand equity can be a key to a long-term competitive edge for mobile phone service providers. However, there were few researches reporting the mobile telecommunication brand equity, and none of them analyzed if customer equity which particularly is developed at the CDMA market has an effect on HSDPA service. In this study, we identified the determinants of mobile telecommunication brand equity, which is focused on brand image, customer benefit, price, service quality, and marketing activity, and its influence on the HSDPA service subscription behavior. Finally, we suggested the strategic implication of brand management strategies for mobile phone service providers.

In this paper, we develop a method that derive the average sector throughput of HSDPA system. This proposed method reflects the effects of AMC, scheduling and multi-code transmission, and is performed by simple calculation procedures such as link budget analysis. Link budget table is used to estimate a cell coverage in general. We modify the link budget table in order to calculate C/I of the user according to the location of the user in CDMA packet system employing AMC. Furthermore, we utilize the proposed method to analyze the effects of scheduling and multi-code transmission.

본 논문에서는 KT 인프라연구소에서 개발한 PMIPv4 기반 WiBro-HSDPA 이종망간 Seamless 핸드오버 기술을 소개한다. 개발된 핸드오버 기술은 WiBro-HSDPA 이종망간 Context 정보전달에 의한 빠른 핸드오버 절차와 네트워크 계층에서의 소프트핸드오버 기술을 접목하여 이종망간 핸드오버 시 패킷 손실이 없도록 설계 및 구현하으며, 상용 WCDMA/HSDPA와 WiBro 시스템으로 구성도니 KT-KTF 연동 테스트베드를 이용하여 검증하였다.

This paper covers the service quality of packet-based voice service that is provided over a high speed downlink packet access (HSDPA) system. Using the measurement software that has been developed in the course of preparing a advanced service quality management scheme for the packet-based voice service over a wireless network[2][3], a huge scale of experiment is conducted to measure the real quality of the voice service. Based on our analysis of the measurement result, the service quality of the voice service is supposed to be quite good over HSDPA system. In addition, another experiment to investigate the effect of degradation of wireless transmission conditions on the service quality of the voice service shows the values of wireless service metrics in which mean opinion score (MOS) starts to decrease.
