  • In this Paper, We proposed the HLS(Http Live Streaming) transmitter which is operated easily and cheap in all networks and client environments compared to the exist video live streaming transmitter. We analyzed the HLS protocol and then implemented for making the HLS transmitter cheaper and portable. After designing the HLS transmitter hardware using the RISC processor of Arm11 core, we ported the Linux Operating System and implemented the HLS protocol using the open source FFmpeg and Segmenter. For the performance evaluation of the developed HLS transmitter, we made the testing environment which is including the notebook, iPhone, and aroid Phone. In this testing environment, we analysed the received video data at the client displayer. As a results of the performance evaluation, we could certify that the proposed HLS transmitter has a higher performance than the Apple company's HLS.

  • In this paper for developing and implementing the realtime HD level video streaming transmitter which is operated on the multi-platform in all network and client environment compared to the exist video live streaming transmitter. We design the realtime HD level video streaming transmitter supporting the multi-platform using the TMS320DM386 video processor of T.I company and then porting the Linux kernel 2.6.29 and implementing the RTSP(Real Time Streaming Protocol)/RTP(Real Time Transport Protocol), HLS(Http Live Streaming), RTMP(Real Time Messaging Protocol) that can support the multi-platform of video stream protocol of the received equipments (smart phone, tablet PC, notebook etc.). For proving the performance of developed video streaming transmitter, we make the testing environment for testing the performance of streaming transmitter using the notebook, iPad, android Phone, and then analysis the received video in the client displayer. In this paper, we suggest the developed the Realtime HD(High Definition) level Video Streaming transmitter performance data values higher than the exist products.

In this paper, we suggest the developed HLS transmitter performance data values higher than the Apple company's HLS recommended specification values and the picture of developed HLS transmitter operation in the testing environment. The application field of this paper result is that the man who works in the emergency situation take HLS and transmit the live emergency situation to the head quarter using this portable HLS.

  • Live streaming is a method to provide media service by sending recoded media to a user's video player. In order to provide video and audio contents in real-time for a large number of users simultaneously, live streaming compatible protocols such as RTMP (Real Time Messaging Protocol), HLS (Http Live Streaming), are required. In this paper, we analyzed vulnerability of paid live streaming services with the captured packets from the applications used by six major OTT (over-the-top) companies in Korea supporting live streaming services. We found that streaming channels were not encrypted and access control mechanisms were not properly used. Thus, guest users can freely use paid live streaming services.

  • In this paper, we address the channel zapping time problem of video streaming services based on HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) on smart Over-The-Top Set-Top Boxes (OTT STBs). Experimental analysis of the channel zapping time, show that smart OTT STBs inevitably suffer from the accumulated zapping time through channel change request, Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) leave/join, synchronization delay, video buffer delay, and STB processing delay when providing HLS services. As a practical solution for the zapping time reduction, an adaptive buffering method is proposed. The proposed method exploits two adaptive buffers added to the basic HLS player. These two adaptive buffers are responsible for constantly buffering previous and next channels relative to the current channel. Implementation and test results show that a stable zapping time less than one second can be achieved even under diverse video bitrate changes and varying network conditions by the proposed adaptive buffering method.

  • Since the proportion of elderly citizens is increasing every year, the social interest is increasing for the health and the safety of the elderly. The nursing home is continually being created to care for more elderly people. However, the quality of service is not enough due to the lack of elderly caregivers. Elderly care and management services are being studied to replace the shortage of caregivers. Existing research for the implementation of an automatic care system has a high initial system cost. Furthermore, it lacks the ability to store and manage large amounts of data. In this paper, we propose a system that manages a large amount of data continuously generated through CCTV and provides a streaming service with a high level of quality-of-service (QoS) to users with collected video. Through the proposed system, it is possible to record and manage the behavioral information of the elderly occurring in the nursing home together with the video. In addition, according to the user's request, it has built a service that streams the video and behavioral information according to the date and time in real-time.
