The shortage of research in Vietnam port evolvement is uncontroversial although a huge amount of investment is observed to upgrade both quantity and quality. This study examines the port system performance, in the context of spatially concentration ratio, in Southern Vietnam for the period 2007-2016, by using prevailing indicators for spatially concentration assessment including concentration ratios (CR), the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (HHI), the Gini coefficient, the Lorenz curve and shift-share analysis (SSA), a trend of deconcentration is described in Southern Vietnam port system, since the traditional ports to new deep-water ports. Also, driving forces of this shifting would be discussed in detail. Implications from this study would enable not only port administrators, port operators but also shipping lines, cargo owners, logistics service providers to comprehensively understand the growth of the port system in Southern Vietnam.

Purpose: To analyze the structure of Korean nurse labor market and examine its effect on hospital nurse staffing. Methods: Secondary data were obtained from Statistics Korea, Education Statistics, and Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service and Patient Survey. Intensity of monopsony in the nurse labor market was measured by Herfindahl Hirshman Index (HHI). Hospital nurse staffing level was divided into high and low. While controlling for confounding factors such as inpatient days and severity mix of patients, effects of characteristics of nurse labor markets on nurse staffing levels were examined using multi-level logistic regressions. Results: For characteristics of nurse labor markets, metropolitan areas had high intensity of monopsony, while the capital area had competitive labor market and the unemployed nurse rate was higher than other areas. Among hospital characteristics, bed occupancy rate was significantly associated with nurse staffing levels. Among characteristics of nurse labor markets, the effect of HHI was indeterminable. Conclusion: The Korean nurse labor market has different structure between the capital and other metropolitan areas. But the effect of the structure of nurse labor market on nurse staffing levels is indeterminable. Characteristics such as occupancy rate and number of beds are significantly associated with nurse staffing levels. Further study in support of the effect of nurse labor market is needed.

The aim of this research is to analyze the concentration and deconcentration development of cruise ports in the Mediterranean area by utilizing the concentration ratio (CR), the Herfindahl-Hirschman Index (HHI), the Gini coefficient, and shift share analysis (SSA). The results of analysis indicated a concentration trend in the West Mediterranean. The cruise ports located in Venice, Piraeus, Naples and Livrno in Adriatic and East Med region lost cruise passengers, while the those in West Mediterranean gained the passengers and showed the trend of concentration. This paper providing the shifting passengers among cruise ports that indicates the competitiveness of cruise ports for industrial stake holders to better understand the cruise ports such as tourist boards, ship agents, and port agents.

The purpose of this study is to test empirically the effects of Entry Barriers for the stock prices of Venture Business using the Ohlson Model which is modifying and extending in terms of growth and the potential growth energy. Because the traditional Ohlson model(1995) on which the firm's value is determined only based on abnormal earnings and book value have numerous limitations when we evaluate the value of venture Businesses with high technology and new emerging market. In order to overcome these limitations, We can introduce items of net sales growth ratios and industrial property-to-net asset ratios into as proxy variables of the growth and potential growth energy. In the process of analyzing these research tests, we have set three kinds of hypotheses and tested then empirically compared with KOSDAQ ordinary listing business and KOSDAQ venture businesses between long-term analysis and short-term analysis. According to the degree of concentration reflecting HHI index, our empirical research were performed in depth. Therefore, the results of this study show us that all three kinds of Hypotheses are accepted.

Ship owners now demand a new design approach for the rudder that considers detailed design information such as maneuverability and environmental loads etc. on a quantified basis. In this paper, we developed the concept of a safe operation capability chart for the design of a rudder area. The chart can be used as the basis of design considering the maneuverability and environmental loads. To confirm the applicability of the safe operation capability chart for use as the basis of design, four different rudders are assumed in this work. First, it is determined whether or not it is appropriate to design a rudder by applying a conventional design approach based on IMO maneuvering tests. The proposed concept is reviewed for use as the basis of the design by investigating the effect of rudder area on capability charts that are plotted according to the rudder under various environmental conditions.

Since the characteristics of combustion and pollutant in Diesel engines were mainly affected by the characteristics of in-cylinder gas flow and fuel spray, an understanding of those was essential to the design of the D.I. Diesel engines. The improvement of volumetric efficiency of air charging into combustion chamber is a primary requirement to obtain better mean effective pressure of an engine. Since the air resistances in intake and exhaust flow passages, valve lift and valve shape influence greatly to the volumetric efficiency, it is very important to investigate the flow characteristics of intake and exhaust port which develops air motion in the combustion chamber. This paper presents the results of an experimental investigation of steady flow through the various kinds of commercial cylinder head ports, and the development procedures of HHI's H21/32 prototype cylinder head ports.

This work is towards the development of a low-cost, small-sized inertial navigation system(INS) which consists of 3 accelerometers, 3 semiconductor gyros and a magnetic compass sensor. This paper explains in detail the structure of the developed system and proposes a 3 dimensional attitude estimation algorithm with Indirect Kalman Filter. The experiments are performed with the developed system attached to a 6 DOF robot for showing the effectiveness of the algorithm.

This research discussed about method for basis construction of sea jacket construction. Several access ways of method for foundation construction of sea jacket construction are used. Accompany many efforts of design and build process to overcome the form of construction work and application equipment, special quality of construction and restriction and so on of sea environment in the case of pile foundation. Therefore, great many factor of sea condition, construction special quality, base condition, construction time, equipment composition, worker composition etc. shows other work form in spot at sea jacket construction process.

Because of its advantages such as more safe better electrical properties, lighter and easier to handle etc. than conventional ceramic materials, the development and application of composite insulator to the distribution and transmission system have been rapidly increased lately. In this paper, we reviewed performance evaluation on composite hollow insulator for extra high voltage based on IEC 61462 Technical Report 2, prospected to be published as international standards of Insulator for $SF_6$ GIS, Transformer, Arrestor etc, having been prepared by IEC technical committee 36 : insulator.
