Recently, e-transformation has appeared as one of the important issues on which academic and industrial worlds focus in order to bring organizational transformation to a company that wants to adapt itself to the rapidly changing business environment. Therefore this thesis aims to develop a new model(a model whose evaluation criteria were based on 3 dimensions, 9 factors, and 30 indices was derived) to evaluate the level of e-transformation that enables firms to check out and predict the e-transformation progress. The present study seems to be the first trial to evaluate the status of e-transformation processes of the firm empirically, especially by integrating the many indices that have not been examined empirically before. We expect that the results from this research will help corporate e-business strategy planners to devise and analyze the e-transformation strategies effectively by recognizing the companies' current situation in comparison with their previous and other firms' level, respectively.

The problems like exceeding estimated cost, late due-date, expensive maintenance, insuffiency of experts and low productivity are becoming emphasized related with the software development. In order to overcome these problems and to develop the highly qualified software within the limited resources, a project management tool is used. The purpose of this study is to develop a conceptual model of the project management system which can plan, analyze and control the software development projects effectively. The model is constructed with plan and track management system, cost management system and operation management system for the efficient project management. It is named by LSD-PMS : Large-scale Software Development Project Management System. We reviewed 5 cases of project management. LSD-PMS is evaluated and reviewed by the project managers in the field. It is proved that LSD-PMS is a tool which can help project managers develop software successfully given budget and time schedule. In the future, this system should be further developed as an integrated model with system implementation tools such as CASE products.

Recently, a market size for IT outsourcing has grown. As internet technology has been developed for accessing information resources, information systems have become internet-based, which is called an ASP(Application Service Provider); evaluating the performance for ASP becomes important. Therefore, this paper attempts to investigate the salient characteristics of ASP. An ASP success model is proposed based on information systems success models found in the literature. Our model is tested through a survey from 291 small companies. LISREL is used to demonstrate the suitability of our model, and the success factors for ASP are also investigated. Our result is likely to help provide useful guidelines for the successful ASP implementations.

This paper presents a simulation model to analyze effects of electrical faults for the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) drive system. The major fault modes of system are investigated and an intuitive system model is developed using MATLAB/Simulink. The developed model provides useful environments to inject and remove the various faults. Simulation results show the dynamic performances of system during the transient state from normal to fault, and those will be a great help to make a system more reliable.

In recent years, the money Laundering crimes are increasing by means of foreign exchange transactions. Our study proposes four scoring models to provide early warning of the laundering in foreign exchange transactions for both inward and outward remittances: logistic regression model, decision tree, neural network, and ensemble model which combines the three models. In terms of accuracy of test data, decision tree model is selected for the inward remittance and an ensemble model for the outward remittance. From our study results, the accumulated number of transaction turns out to be the most important predictor variable. The proposed scoring models deal with the transaction level and is expected to help the bank teller to detect the laundering related transactions in the early stage.

Achieving situation awareness is especially challenging for real-time data stream applications because they i) operate on continuous unbounded streams of data, and ii) have inherent realtime requirements. In this paper we showed how formal data stream modeling and analysis can be used to better understand stream behavior, evaluate query costs, and improve application performance. We used MEDAL, a formal specification language based on Petri nets, to model the data stream queries and the quality-of-service management mechanisms of RT-STREAM, a prototype system for data stream management. MEDAL's ability to combine query logic and data admission control in one model allows us to design a single comprehensive model of the system. This model can be used to perform a large set of analyses to help improve the application's performance and quality of service.

Recently, searching agent systems to help purchase of products between business and customer have been actively studied in Electronic Commerce(EC). However, the most of comparative searching agent systems are only provided customers with searching results by the keyword-based search, and is not support the efficient decision models to be selected products considering the customer's requirements. This paper proposes the decision agent system applied decision model as well as searching functions based on the keyword-input to be selected useful products in EC. The proposed decision agent system is consist of the user interface, provider interface, decision model. Especially, as the example of the decision model, this paper is designed and implemented the prototype of decision agent system which is normalized the searching data and value of customer's preference weight as to each attribute, and orderly provided customers with computed results. This agent system is also carried out sensitive analysis according to the reflection ratio of the each attribute.

Recently we have seen a noticeable trend in ports to establish port clusters. Despite this trend, little research has actually been undertaken to fully define and analyse port clusters. A couple of exceptions have descriptively defined port clusters but the boundaries of port clusters are not apparent. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to define port clusters in terms of set theory and in particular look at them in terms of their distinct characteristics and system boundaries. The main concern of this paper is that there is a need to distinguish, from a system and a competition perspective, between port clusters, ports, maritime clusters and port ranges. This paper proposes a conceptual model relevant to the relationship among port clusters related assemblages and that has been applied to the north western europe region This model suggests six levels of competition that will help port authorities and government to develop appropriate policies and strategies for port operation and port industry.

The characteristics of Telecommunication Industry encompass not only hardware and software but also the service aspect of them. One way to improve the industry up to the international level in terms of hardware and software as well as service aspect is to comply with tile TL 9000 standard, which was established by QUEST Forum, the group consisted of U.S. communication industry, based on the ISO 9000 Quality Management System. In this study, design, establishment, implementation, maintenance and improvement of quality system for domestic telecommunication industry are thoroughly investigated based on TL 9000 standard, with its LCM(Life Cycle Model) model and measurements. Also, Process Approach is suggested to help the industry realize the system to meet its specific needs. In addition, specific examples with the successful certification to TL 9000 standard are presented.

The superconducting synchronous machine(S.S.M) including generator and motor has different electromagnetic structure from the conventional machine. With the help of superconductor having much higher operating current density than normal conductor, S.S.M can eliminate most of iron core filling inside of the conventional machine. This air-cored structure could be analysed and designed theoretically based on 2-dimensional(2-D) magnetic field distribution assuming that the windings are extended infinitely toward the axial direction. However the actual structure of S.S.M has the end regions interconnecting the straight parts of the same cross-section with the 2-D model. Therefore, this actual 3-D model has smaller field distribution than the 2-D model. In this paper, we consider the effect of the end regions on the output of a HTS model motor and suggest more accurate design approach through comparison of 2-D and 3-D magnetic field analysis.
