  • We study the class $C{\mathcal{V}} ({\Omega})$ of analytic functions f in the unit disk ${\mathbb{D}}=\{z{\in}{\mathbb{C}}$ : ${\mid}z{\mid}$ < 1} of the form $f(z)=z+{\sum}_{n=2}^{\infty}a_nz^n$ satisfying $$1+\frac{zf^{{\prime}{\prime}}(z)}{f^{\prime}(z)}{\in}{\Omega},\;z{\in}{\mathbb{D}}$$, where ${\Omega}$ is a convex and proper subdomain of $\mathbb{C}$ with $1{\in}{\Omega}$. Let ${\phi}_{\Omega}$ be the unique conformal mapping of $\mathbb{D}$ onto ${\Omega}$ with ${\phi}_{\Omega}(0)=1$ and ${\phi}^{\prime}_{\Omega}(0)$ > 0 and $$k_{\Omega}(z)={\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{0}}^z}{\exp}\({\displaystyle\smashmargin{2}{\int\nolimits_{0}}^t}{\zeta}^{-1}({\phi}_{\Omega}({\zeta})-1)d{\zeta}\)dt$$. Let $z_0,z_1{\in}{\mathbb{D}}$ with $z_0{\neq}z_1$. As the first result in this paper we show that the region of variability $\{{\log}\;f^{\prime}(z_1)-{\log}\;f^{\prime}(z_0)\;:\;f{\in}C{\mathcal{V}}({\Omega})\}$ coincides wth the set $\{{\log}\;k^{\prime}_{\Omega}(z_1z)-{\log}\;k^{\prime}_{\Omega}(z_0z)\;:\;{\mid}z{\mid}{\leq}1\}$. The second result deals with the case when ${\Omega}$ is the right half plane ${\mathbb{H}}=\{{\omega}{\in}{\mathbb{C}}$ : Re ${\omega}$ > 0}. In this case $CV({\Omega})$ is identical with the usual normalized class of convex univalent functions on $\mathbb{D}$. And we derive the sharp upper bound for ${\mid}{\log}\;f^{\prime}(z_1)-{\log}\;f^{\prime}(z_0){\mid}$, $f{\in}C{\mathcal{V}}(\mathbb{H})$. The third result concerns how far two functions in $C{\mathcal{V}}({\Omega})$ are from each other. Furthermore we determine all extremal functions explicitly.

  • In this paper, some sharp inequalities for ordinary derivative P'(z) and polar derivative DαP(z) = nP(z) + (α - z)P'(z) are obtained by including some of the coefficients and modulus of each individual zero of a polynomial P(z) of degree n not vanishing in the region |z| > k, k ≥ 1. Our results also improve the bounds of Turán's and Aziz's inequalities.

  • GRB 100205A is a Gamma Ray Burst (GRB) which is suspected to be at $11{\leq}Z{\leq}13.5$ due to its very red H-K color ($(H-K)_{vega}=2.1{\pm}0.5$). We observed a field centered at GRB 100205A with the Wide Field Camera (WFCAM) at the United Kingdom Infrared Telescope (UKIRT) in Hawaii, so as to find a 11 < z < 13 quasar that could be located around the GRB. The images were obtained in J, H, and K filters covering a square area of 0.75 $deg^2$ to the depths of 22.5, 21.4, and 20.2 in Vega magnitude at $5{\sigma}$, respectively. Also using a z-band image observed by MegaCam in Canada France Hawaii Telescope (CFHT), we found 12 candidates that have colors consistent with a quasar at 11 < z < 13 with two criteria; (1) non-detection in z-, J-bands and $(H-K)_{vega}$ > 1.6 (2) only detection in K-band with $(Hlimit-K)_{vega}$ > 1.6. However, we also find 627 red ($(H-K)_{vega}$ > 1.4) objects that are likely to be old or dusty galaxies at $z{\leq}3$, so the 12 candidates could be these red objects. These red objects are found to be strongly clustered in the Ultra Deep Survey (UDS) fields of UKIRT Infrared Deep Sky Survey (UKIDSS) than those in the GRB 100205A field. We suggest a lack of a strongly clustered region surrounding an extremely high-redshift GRB with some limitations.

  • A novel bacteriocin produced by Streptococcus parauberis Z49 strain was characterized and efficiently extracted from fermented cultures by use of aqueous two-phase systems. The nisin-like bacteriocin, which was active even after a heat treatment at $121^{\circ}C$ for 15 min and in the broad pH range from 2 to 12, showed inhibition of bacterial growth of Micrococcus luteus, Lactobacillus spp., Lactobacillus fermentum, Enterococcus faecium, Listereia monocytogenes, and Pseudomonas fluorescens. Optimal conditions of PEG 600/$Na_2SO_4$ aqueous two-phase systems for the simple and rapid extraction of a novel bacteriocin were determined to be PEG 600 15%, $Na_2SO_4$ 30%, and NaCl 8%, where the bacteriocin was concentrated in PEG layer.

  • Abstract Urea($(NH_2)_2CO$) and THAMP (Tris(hydroxymethyl) aminomethane phosphate) are new organic nonlinear optical materials (NLO) for the device application such as the frequency conversion of laser radiation. The single crystals of urea and THAMP have been grown by the falling temperature method and the temperature difference method. The crystal growth parameters were presented associated with the molphology of the grown crystals. Based on the solubility measurements, methanol was a suitable solvent for the growth of urea. The solubilities of urea have a positive temperature coefficient and the heat of solution of urea was estimated to be -2.58 kcal/mol. The grown crystals of urea have the preferential growth habit in the z-axis. Additives such as $NH_4_H_2PO_4$, KCL, $H_3PO_4$, $CaCl_2{\cdot}2H_2O$, $C_2H_5OH$ were used for the favourable growth in the x - and y-axis and the preventive growth in the z-axis. The moleratio of THAM and H3P04 for the solution of THAMP was 1 : 1. The solubilities of THAMP have a positive temperature coefficient. The heat of solution was estimated to be - 1.70 kcal/ mol.

  • A separable minimal surface is represented by the form of f(x) + g(y) + h(z) = 0, where f, g and h are real-valued functions of x, y and z, respectively. We provide exact equations for separable minimal surfaces with elliptic functions that are singly, doubly and triply periodic minimal surfaces and completely classify all them. In particular, parameters in the separable minimal surfaces change the shape of the surfaces, such as fundamental periods and its limit behavior, within the form f(x) + g(y) + h(z) = 0.

  • Input shaping method is to convolute input shaper, which is sequence of impulses, with reference input command not to excite the natural frequency of system. To reduce residual vibration for the ch ange of frequency, the number of impulses should be increased. Until now, amplitudes and time interval of those has been searched from the derivative of residual vibration. However, if time interval of impulses is fixed as the half of vibration period of system, input shaper H(z) in z-domain becomes (I-pz-1)n/K in which increasing n is the mean that robustness for change of parameter is improved. Also, design of many types of input shapers in z-domain is very easy because sensitivity curve is displayed with $\mid$H(z)zn$\mid$$\times$100. In the z-domain, EI(Extra-Insensitive) input shaper could be designed without solving nonlinear simultaneous equations as design in continuous time domain. In addition to, the design possibility of input shaper for a damped system was shown.

  • Let A(p, k) (p, k$\in$N) be the class of functions f(z) = $z^{p}$ + $a_{p+k}$ $z^{p+k}$+… analytic in the unit disk. We introduce a subclass H(p, k, λ, $\delta$, A, B) of A(p, k) by using the Ruscheweyh derivative. The object of the present paper is to show some properties of functions in the class H(p, k, λ, $\delta$, A, B). B).

  • It has been well known that the expression of S. typhimurium cadBA operon requires at least two extracellular signals: low pH and high concentration of lysine. To better understand the nature of pH-dependent and lysine dependent signal transduction, mutants were isolated in JF2238(cadA-lacZ) by Tn10 insertion, spontaneous mutagenesis, and EMS treatment. Two mutants were isolated from JF2238, expressed as a cadA-lacZ operon fusion in various growth conditions, and analyzed to have mutations in cadC, a gene encoding a function necessary for transcriptional activation of cadBA. One isolate (cadC6) conferred pH-independent and lysine-independent cadBA expression and the other(cadC4) showed pH-independent and lysine-dependent cadBA expression. cadR::Tn10 and cadR4 mutants were expressed in the absence of exogenously added lysine. They were also resistant to thiosine and complemented by lysP clone from E. coli. Thus, in the absence of exogenous lysine, cadR is a negative regulator of cadBA expression. Cadaverine, the product of lysine decarboxylation, was shown to inhibit expression of cadA-lacZ fusion in cad $C^+$ cell.
