H 형태 공진기를 이용한 소형화된 HTS 안테나의 제작 및 특성 해석 (Fabrication and Characterization of Miniaturized HTS Microstrip Antennas Using "H"-type Resonator)

  • ″H″ type resonator has the advantage for the miniaturization of high-T7 superconducting (HTS) microstrip antenna in comparison with the conventional microstrip antenna such as rectangular type or circular type. In this paper we designed miniaturized HTS antennas using this "H"-type resonator and reported the characteristics of our antennas including return loss, bandwidth, radiation patterns, efficiency and so on. To fabricate the "H" type antenna, HTS YBa$_2$Cu$_3$$O_{7-x}$ (YBCO) thin films were deposited on MgO substrates using rf-magnetron sputtering. For comparison between normal conducting antennas and superconducting antennas, the gold antennas with the same dimension were also fabricated. An aperture coupling was used for impedance matching between 50 $\Omega$ feed line and HTS radiating patch. The ″H" type superconducting antenna showed the performance of 1.38 in SWR, 26 % in efficiency, and 13.8 dB in the return loss superior to the normal conducting counterpart.

공명 흡음판 위 가이드 그릴의 형상이 공진기 흡입 유동에 미치는 영향 (Effect of the Shape of a Guide Grill Above a Resonance Type Sound Absorbing Panel on Intake Flow into a Resonator)

  • This study investigates cavity flows through a guide grill above a resonator. Vortex distributions and intake flows are simulated for various shapes of the guide grill. The flows are assumed to be compressible, unsteady, and turbulent. Numerical simulations are conducted using a large eddy simulation (LES) model. To analyze the effect of the guide grill shape, three cavity lengths (0.2H, 0.6H, and 1.0H) and cavity angles ($30^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$) are considered based on resonator height (H). The results show that the vortex generated in the resonator by cavity flow increases with cavity length. Thus, the intake flow is minimum at the smallest cavity length and angle. However, when cavity length is equal to resonator height, the intake flow decreases. The maximum intake flow occurs at a cavity angle $45^{\circ}$ at higher cavity lengths owing to the interaction between the vortex in the resonator and intake flow.

  • The $high-T_c$ Superconducting(HTS) antenna which consists of "H" type resonator has the benefits for the miniaturization of antenna in comparison with the microstrip antenna of the similar dimension. To fabricate the "H" type antenna HTS $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$(YBCO) thin films were deposited on MgO substrates using rf-magnetron sputtering. Standard etching processes were performed for the patterning of the "H" type antenna. For comparison between normal conducting antennas and superconducting antennas, the gold antennas with the same dimension were also fabricated. An aperture coupling was used for impedance matching between $50\Omega$ feed line and HTS radiating patch. The diverse experimental results were reported in terms of the resonant frequency, the return loss and the characteristics impedance. The "H" type superconducting antenna showed the performance of 1.36 in SWR, 24 % in efficiency, and 14.6 dB in the return loss superior to the normal conducting counterpart.

  • In this study, resonant characteristics of $Pb_{0.88}(La_{0.6}Nd_{0.4})_{0.08}(Mn_{1/3}Sb_{2/3})_{0.02}Ti_{0.98}O_3$ ceramics were investigated with the variations of electrode radius size for manufacturing the best 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator with the size of $3.7{\times}3.1{\times}0.255mm^3$. Physical properties were proper for appling for 30MHz SMD type ceramic resonator. In third overtone thickness vibration mode, with increasing electrode radius size, resonant resistant($Z_r$) was decreased gradually. Mechanical quality factor($Q_{mt3}$) and dynamic range(D.R) showed the maximum value of 2,283, 47.1dB respectively, at 0.74mm electrode radius size.

  • In this study, microstructural and electrical properties of (Pb)(La,Nd)$TiO_3$ cerramics were investigated as a function of CuO addition. Taking into consideration Tc of $325^{\circ}C$, dynamic range of 49dB( at the wafer form) and density of $7.71g/cm^{3}$, it can be concluded that the specimen S2 sintered at $1200^{\circ}C$ is the best for the resonator application, Dynamic characteristics of energy-trapped 20MHz SMD type resonator as a function of internal dot size variation were also investigated. Dynamic range characteristics showed the highest value of 60.72dB at S2-4(dot size 1.13mm).

  • In this study, the piezoelectric ceramics PZT powder was synthesized by the Wet-Dry combination method. Flexible 1-3 type composite specimens were fabricated with the piezoceramics PZT filler phase and Eccogel polymer matrix phase. This paper represents the pulse-echo response of the 1-3 type composite transducer to check it out to investigate a basic property regarding a level limit switch. The acoustic impedance of 1-3 type composite was improved than that of single phase PZT ceramics. The pulse-echo response of transducer fabricated with the self-made 1-3 type composites resonator was better than that of the solid PZT transducer.

  • In this study, an ultrasonic transducer is fabricated with a 1-3 type composite resonator. Pulse-echo responses of an ultrasonic transducer are investigated in underwater with the designated water-levels. LED output signals of a level limit switch with changing a water level are obtained by using the currently developed self-made 1-3 type composite transducer and electric measuring unit. LED is turned on at above the up-limit level with increasing a water level, and LED is turned on at less than the down-limit level with decreasing a water level.

수정미소저울 노점센서 제작 및 반응특성 연구 (Development of QCM dew point sensor and its sensing characteristics study)

  • This paper represents development of quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) and usage as a dew point sensor. The temperature of a quartz resonator was controlled precisely from $20^{\circ}C$ to $-30^{\circ}C$ with the ramping rate of $0.1^{\circ}C/s$ by using a custom-made crystal holder housing the quartz resonator associated with a thermoelectric cooler (Peltier cooler), which results in the working range from $15.2^{\circ}C$ to $-24.0^{\circ}C$ based on an accurate holder temperature compensation and temperature effect compensation process. The developed QCM dew point sensor and analysis techniques show very good sensing characteristics at measurement of moist air with the relative humidity from 10 %R.H. to 90 %R.H. generated by a divided-type humidity generator and the dew point temperatures were determined with an accuracy of less than ${\pm}0.18^{\circ}C$, which also showed good agreement with reference values in their error range.

전방향성 E & H면 슬릿 Folded형 마이크로스트립 패치 안테나 (Slit Folded Type Microstrip Antenna for Omnidirectional E-plane and H-plane)

  • 본 논문에서는 SIR(Stepped Impedance Resonator) 구조를 이용한 compact한 slit-folded형 마이크로스트립패치 안테나를 제작하였다 기존의 길이 방향의 $\lambda_{g}/2$ 공진을 이용한 평면형 마이크로스트립패치 안테나를 길이방향 중심에서 반으로 접어서 마이크로스트립 급전선으로 급전하여 전방향성 방사패턴을 얻은 Folded형 마이크로스트립 안테나를 적층형으로 제작시 급전선의 영향을 줄이기 위하여 급전방법을 상하면 패치사이의 접지면 위에 설계하여 급전핀을 세웠다. 또한 평면형 H형 SIR 구조를 Folded형 안테나에 적용한 슬릿 folded형 안테나는 기존의 folded형 안테나에 비하여 27.5 % 더 소형화하였다. 기존의 folded형 마이크로스트립 안테나는 E면(zx-plane)과 H면(xy-plane)의 평균이득이 거의 1.8 dB 정도의 차이를 보였으나 본 논문에서 제안한 슬릿 folded형은 E & H-plane의 평균이득차이가 0.1 dB로 거의 같음을 알 수 있다.

  • "H" 형태의 공진기로서 이루어진 초전도 안테나는 비슷한 크기를 가진 마이크로스트립 안테나에 비하여 소형화에 유리하다. "H"형 초전도 안테나 제작을 위해 rf 마그네트론 스퍼터링을 이용하여 $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-x}$ (YBCO)/MgO 고온초전도 박막을 제조하였으며 표준 식각법을 이용하여 안테나를 형상화 하였다. 일반 금속과의 특성을 비교하기 위해서 동일한 차원의 금 안테나가 제작되었다. 개구 결합 방식을 이용하여 초전도 안테나 패치와 $50{\Omega}$ 급전선을 임피던스 결합을 시켰다. 다양한 종류의 실험 결과가 반사손실, 공진주파수, 특성임피던스 등을 중심으로 보고되었다. H형 초전도 안테나는 금 안테나에 비하여 정재파비에서 0.36 효율에서 24% 반사손실에서 14.6bB 이상 더 우수한 성능을 보여주었다.
