In this study, diethylaminoethyl methacrylate-styrene-butadiene terpolymer (DEAEMA-SBR), in which diethylaminoethyl methacrylate (DEAEMA) was introduced to the SBR molecule as a third monomer, was synthesized by cold emulsion polymerization. It is expected that amine group introduced to a rubber molecule would improve dispersion of silica by the formation of hydrogen bond (or ionic coupling) between the amine group and silanol groups of silica surface. The chemical structure of DEAEMA-SBR was analyzed using proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-NMR), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Then, various properties of DEAEMA-SBR/silica composite such as crosslink density, bound rubber content, abrasion resistance, and mechanical properties were evaluated. As a result, bound rubber content and crosslink density of DEAEMA-SBR/silica compound were higher than those of the SBR 1721 composite. Abrasion resistance and moduli at 300% elongation of the DEAEMA-SBR/silica composite were better than those of SBR 1721 composite due to the high bound rubber content and crosslink density. These results are attributed to high affinity between DEAEMA-SBR and silica. The proposed study suggests that DEAEMA-SBR can help to improve mechanical properties and abrasion resistance of the tire tread part.
This study presents experimental and numerical investigations on circular steel tube confined ultra high performance concrete (UHPC) columns under axial compression. The plain UHPC without fibers was designed to achieve a compressive strength ranged between 150 MPa and 200 MPa. Test results revealed that loading on only the UHPC core can generate a significant confinement effect for the UHPC core, thus leading to an increase in both strength and ductility of columns, and restricting the inherent brittleness of unconfined UHPC. All tested columns failed by shear plane failure of the UHPC core, this causes a softening stage in the axial load versus axial strain curves. In addition, an increase in the steel tube thickness or the confinement index was found to increase the strength and ductility enhancement and to reduce the magnitude of the loss of load capacity. Besides, steel tube with higher yield strength can improve the post-peak behavior. Based on the test results, the load contribution of the steel tube and the concrete core to the total load was examined. It was found that no significant confinement effect can be developed before the peak load, while the ductility of post-peak stage is mainly affected by the degree of the confinement effect. A finite element model (FEM) was also constructed in ABAQUS software to validate the test results. The effect of bond strength between the steel tube and the UHPC core was also investigated through the change of friction coefficient in FEM. Furthermore, the mechanism of circular steel tube confined UHPC columns was examined using the established FEM. Based on the results of FEM, the confining pressures along the height of each modeled column were shown. Furthermore, the interaction between the steel tube and the UHPC core was displayed through the slip length and shear stresses between two surfaces of two materials.
Electromagnetic impulse welding (EMIW) is a type of solid state welding using the Lorentz force generated by interaction between the magnetic field of the coil and the current induced in the workpiece. Although many experimental studies have been investigated on the expansion and compression welding of tube using the EMIW process, studies on the EMIW process of lap joint between flat sheets are uncommon. Since the magnetic field enveloped inside the tube can be controlled with ease, the electromagnetic technique has been widely used for tube welding. Conversely, it is difficult to control the magnetic field in the flat sheet welding so as to obtain the required welding velocity. The current study analyzed the effects of coil shape on the impulse velocity for suitable flat one-turn coil for the EMIW of the flat sheets. The finite element (FE) multi-physics simulation involving magnetic and structural field of EMIW were conducted with the commercial software LS-DYNA to evaluate the several shape variables, viz., influence of various widths, thicknesses, gaps and standoff distances of the flat one-turn coil on the impulse velocity. To obtain maximum impulse velocity, the flat one-turn coil was designed based on the FE simulation results. The experiments were performed using an aluminum alloy 1050 sheets of 1.0mm thickness using the designed flat one-turn coil. Through the microscopic interfacial analysis of the welded specimens, the interfacial connectivity was observed to have no defects. In addition, the single lap joint tests were performed to evaluate the welding strength, and a fracture occurred in the base material. As a result, a flat one-turn coil was successfully designed to guarantee welding with bond strength equal to or greater than the base material strength.
The most stable stereo conformer in non substituted benzenesulfonyl urea, 1 was the II-keto form, which the molecule was intramolecular associated(H-bond) coformer between imide group and N atom on the Pyrimidine ring. The hydrolytic degradation of 2 derivatives were proceeds by nucleophilic addition reaction(p<0) with orbital controlled intermolecular interaction between LUMO with electron donating$(\sigma<0)$ groups of 2 and HOMO of water molecule. N-(4,6-disub. pyrimid ine-2-yl)aminocarbonyl-2-(1,1-dimethoxy-2-fluoro)ethylbenze nesulfonamides,3 and N-(4,6-disub. triazine-2-yl)aminocarbonyl-2-(1,1-d imethoxy-2-fluoro)ethylbenzenesulfonamides,4 we re synthesized and their herbicidal activities in vivo against bulrush (Scirpus juncoides.) were measured by the pot test under the paddy conditions And the structure activity relationships(SAR) were analyzed by the multiple regression technique. The results of the SAR suggested that the 3 and 4 derivatives indicated dependent on the hydrophobicity of the 4,6-disubstituents and the heterocyclo group, where the optimal value $((log\;P)_{opt.}=0.89)$ of hydrophobicity was 0.89. The pyrimidine substituents, 3 showed higher herbicidal activity than the triazine substituents, 4. Among them, 4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine substituent, 3a showed the best herbicidal activity.
The sulphur spinel $FeCr_{2-x}M_xS_4$(M=Ga, In) have been studied with Mossbauer spectroscopy, x-ray diffraction (XRD), and vibrating sample magnetometer. The XRB patterns for samples $FeCr_{2-x}M_xS_4$(M=Ga, In: x=0.1, 0.3) reveal a single phase, which the Ga and In ions are partially occupied to the tetrahedral (A) site. The Neel temperature for the Ga substituted samples increases from 180 to 188 K, with increase from x=0.1 to 0.3. While, it decreases from 173 to 160 K, for the In substituted samples of the x=0.1 and 0.3, respectively. The Mossbauer spectra were collected from 4.2 K to room temperature. We have analyzed the Mossbauer spectra using eight Lorentzian lines fitting method for the $FeCr_{2-x}In_xS_4$(x=0.1) at 4.2 K, yielding the 1311owing results; $H_{hf}=146.0kOe,\;{\Delta}E_Q=1.88mm/s,\;\theta=36^{\circ},\;\phi=0^{\circ},\;\eta=0.6$, and R=1.9. The Ga ions enter into the both sites octahedral (B) and tetrahedral (A), simultaneously the same amounts of Fe ions migrate from the A to the B site, this result is an agreement with XRD results, too. The ${\Delta}E_Q$ of the A and B site in Mossbauer spectra of the samples $FeCr_{2-x}Ga_xS_4$(x=0.3) are 0.83 and 2.94mm/s, respectively. While they are 0.56 and 2.36mm/s for the $FeCr_{2-x}In_xS_4$(x=0.3). It is noticeable that the ${\Delta}E_Q$ for the Ga doped samples are larger than that of the corresponding In doped samples, in spite of the larger ionic radius for In ions. The bond lengths of Cr-S, for the Ga and In doped samples (x=0.3) are found to be 2.41 and $2.43\;{\AA}$, respectively. We interpret that the larger covalence effect from the smaller bond length induces a large asymmetric charge distribution. Finally, it gives a large quadrupole interaction.

The Ru(Ⅲ), Ni(Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), and Pd(Ⅱ) complexes of N$_4$-polydentate ligands(meso-Me$_6$-[14]-ane, rac-Me$_6$-[14]-ane, and cyclam) have been prepared and their catalytic activity and selectivity in the oxidation of olefins in the presence of oxidant such as NaOCl, H$_2$O$_2$, t-BuOOH, and PhIO studied. The oxidations of cyclohexene, 1-hexene, cyclooctene, 1-octene, and styrene as substrates have been investigated gas chromatographically. The Ru(Ⅲ)-N$_4$ complexes showed high selectivity for epoxide in the catalyzed oxidation of olefins with NaOCl. The catalytic activities of Ru(Ⅲ)-N$_4$ complexes were discussed in terms of the flexibility of N$_4$-polydentate ligands, the Ru(Ⅲ)-Cl bond interaction and the steric effect of oxidants. The oxidation of 1-octene using PhIO as oxidant was carried out to verify. The Pd(Ⅱ) complex turned out to be more active catalyst than the Ni(Ⅱ) complexes.
Purpose : To investigate the 3-bond and spatial connectivity of human brain metabolites by scalar coupling and dipolar nuclear Overhauser effect/enhancement (NOE) interaction through 2D- correlation spectroscopy (COSY) and 2D- NOE spectroscopy (NOESY) techniques. Materials and Methods : All 2D experiments were performed on Bruker Avance 500 (11.8 T) with the zshield gradient triple resonance cryoprobe at 298 K. Human brain metabolites were prepared with 10% $D_2O$. Two-dimensional spectra with 2048 data points contains 320 free induction decay (FID) averaging. Repetition delay was 2 sec. The Top Spin 2.0 software was used for post-processing. Total 7 metabolites such as N-acetyl aspartate (NAA), creatine (Cr), choline (Cho), lutamine (Gln), glutamate (Glu), myo-inositol (Ins), and lactate (Lac) were included for major target metabolites. Results : Symmetrical 2D-COSY and 2D-NOESY pectra were successfully acquired: COSY cross peaks were observed in the only 1.0-4.5 ppm, however, NOESY cross peaks were observed in the 1.0-4.5 ppm and 7.9 ppm. From the result of the 2-D COSY data, cross peaks between the methyl protons ($CH_3$(3)) at 1.33 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 4.11 ppm were observed in Lac. Cross peaks between the methylene protons (CH2(3,$H{\alpha}$)) at 2.50ppm and methylene protons ($CH_2$,(3,$H_B$)) at 2.70 ppm were observed in NAA. Cross peaks between the methine proton (CH(5)) at 3.27 ppm and the methine proton (CH(4,6)) at 3.59 ppm, between the methine proton (CH(1,3)) at 3.53 ppm and methine proton (CH(4,6)) at 3.59 ppm, and between the methine proton (CH(1,3)) at 3.53 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 4.05 ppm were observed in Ins. From the result of 2-D NOESY data, cross peaks between the NH proton at 8.00 ppm and methyl protons ($CH_3$) were observed in NAA. Cross peaks between the methyl protons ($CH_3$(3)) at 1.33 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 4.11 ppm were observed in Lac. Cross peaks between the methyl protons (CH3) at 3.03 ppm and methylene protons (CH2) at 3.93 ppm were observed in Cr. Cross peaks between the methylene protons ($CH_2$(3)) at 2.11 ppm and methylene protons ($CH_2$(4)) at 2.35 ppm, and between the methylene protons($CH_2$ (3)) at 2.11 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 3.76 ppm were observed in Glu. Cross peaks between the methylene protons (CH2 (3)) at 2.14 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 3.79 ppm were observed in Gln. Cross peaks between the methine proton (CH(5)) at 3.27 ppm and the methine proton (CH(4,6)) at 3.59 ppm, and between the methine proton (CH(1,3)) at 3.53 ppm and methine proton (CH(2)) at 4.05 ppm were observed in Ins. Conclusion : The present study demonstrated that in vitro 2D-COSY and NOESY represented the 3-bond and spatial connectivity of human brain metabolites by scalar coupling and dipolar NOE interaction. This study could aid in better understanding the interactions between human brain metabolites in vivo 2DCOSY study.
Introduction: GTPases known as translation factor play a vital role as ribosomal subunit assembly chaperone. The bacterial Obg proteins ($Spo{\underline{0B}}$-associated ${\underline{G}}TP$-binding protein) belong to the subfamily of P-loop GTPase proteins and now it is considered as one of the new target for antibacterial drug. The majority of bacterial Obgs have been commonly found to be associated with ribosome, implying that these proteins may play a fundamental role in ribosome assembly or maturation. In addition, one of the experimental evidences suggested that Bacillus subtilis Obg (BsObg) protein binds to the L13 ribosomal protein (BsL13) which is known to be one of the early assembly proteins of the 50S ribosomal subunit in Escherichia coli. In order to investigate binding mode between the BsObg and the BsL13, protein-protein docking simulation was carried out after generating 3D structure of the BsL13 structure using homology modeling method. Materials and Methods: Homology model structure of BsL13 was generated using the EcL13 crystal structure as a template. Protein-protein docking of BsObg protein with ribosomal protein BsL13 was performed by DOT, a macro-molecular docking software, in order to predict a reasonable binding mode. The solvated energy minimization calculation of the docked conformation was carried out to refine the structure. Results and Discussion: The possible binding conformation of BsL13 along with activated Obg fold in BsObg was predicted by computational docking study. The final structure is obtained from the solvated energy minimization. From the analysis, three important H-bond interactions between the Obg fold and the L13 were detected: Obg:Tyr27-L13:Glu32, Obg:Asn76-L13:Glu139, and Obg:Ala136-L13:Glu142. The interaction between the BsObg and BsL13 structures were also analyzed by electrostatic potential calculations to examine the interface surfaces. From the results, the key residues for hydrogen bonding and hydrophobic interaction between the two proteins were predicted. Conclusion and Prospects: In this study, we have focused on the binding mode of the BsObg protein with the ribosomal BsL13 protein. The interaction between the activated Obg and target protein was investigated with protein-protein docking calculations. The binding pattern can be further used as a base for structure-based drug design to find a novel antibacterial drug.

The goal of data mining is to extract new and useful knowledge from large scale datasets. As the amount of available data grows explosively, it became vitally important to develop faster data mining algorithms for various types of data. Recently, an interest in developing data mining algorithms that operate on graphs has been increased. Especially, mining frequent patterns from structured data such as graphs has been concerned by many research groups. A graph is a highly adaptable representation scheme that used in many domains including chemistry, bioinformatics and physics. For example, the chemical structure of a given substance can be modelled by an undirected labelled graph in which each node corresponds to an atom and each edge corresponds to a chemical bond between atoms. Internet can also be modelled as a directed graph in which each node corresponds to an web site and each edge corresponds to a hypertext link between web sites. Notably in bioinformatics area, various kinds of newly discovered data such as gene regulation networks or protein interaction networks could be modelled as graphs. There have been a number of attempts to find useful knowledge from these graph structured data. One of the most powerful analysis tool for graph structured data is frequent subgraph analysis. Recurring patterns in graph data can provide incomparable insights into that graph data. However, to find recurring subgraphs is extremely expensive in computational side. At the core of the problem, there are two computationally challenging problems. 1) Subgraph isomorphism and 2) Enumeration of subgraphs. Problems related to the former are subgraph isomorphism problem (Is graph A contains graph B?) and graph isomorphism problem(Are two graphs A and B the same or not?). Even these simplified versions of the subgraph mining problem are known to be NP-complete or Polymorphism-complete and no polynomial time algorithm has been existed so far. The later is also a difficult problem. We should generate all of 2$^n$ subgraphs if there is no constraint where n is the number of vertices of the input graph. In order to find frequent subgraphs from larger graph database, it is essential to give appropriate constraint to the subgraphs to find. Most of the current approaches are focus on the frequencies of a subgraph: the higher the frequency of a graph is, the more attentions should be given to that graph. Recently, several algorithms which use level by level approaches to find frequent subgraphs have been developed. Some of the recently emerging applications suggest that other constraints such as connectivity also could be useful in mining subgraphs : more strongly connected parts of a graph are more informative. If we restrict the set of subgraphs to mine to more strongly connected parts, its computational complexity could be decreased significantly. In this paper, we present an efficient algorithm to mine frequent subgraphs that are more strongly connected. Experimental study shows that the algorithm is scaling to larger graphs which have more than ten thousand vertices.
