Design of LMI-Based H$\infty$ Controller for Robot Manipulators

  • In this paper, we present new control method for robot manipulators. The design objective can be the implementation of minimax controller with H$_{\infty}$ performance via LMI approach to guarantee the robustness and to obtain the exact tracking performance for robot manipulators with system parameter uncertainty and exogenous disturbance. We show that the Algebraic Riccati equation (ARE) which is needed for the construction of H$_{\infty}$ controller can be recast into the Algebraic Riccati Inequality (ARI) and the optimal control gain can be obtained by convex optimization method. Then, we will apply the proposed controller to rigid robot manipulators for verifying the performance of our controller.

  • In this paper, optimal modulation controller is designed to improve the stability of A.C. and A.C.-D.C. power system, and optimal theory is applied to select optimal modulation controller input signal Optimal modulation controller for speed governor and exciter controller system is constructed in A.C. power system, while the controller is constructed to the both control systems like AC. power system, considering ACR-AVR, APR-$A{\gamma}R$ as the control method of direct current system. It is considered that the stability of A.C. power system only and A.C.-D.C. power system against load fluctuations and disturbances under case of optimal modulation control.

  • In the time-invarient system, the adaptive controller was designed for the non-tracking error in the 1980's. In this study, the Model Reference Adaptive Control using on-line processing method is used to identify the coefficients of the model, and the Robust Controller (H.inf.) is designed to stabilize the rigid body and the flexible body of satellite, which can be perturbed due to disturbance, etc. The result obtained by H.inf. controller is compared with that of the PI(Proportional and Intergation) controller which is commonly used for stabilizing satellite.

  • A H$\_$.inf./ contro theory was applied to motor speed control of two-mass system to get controller which acts effectively with control object including uncertainties. The H$\_$.inf./ control problem was composed and solved. After that, numerical simulation were executed to confirm ability of the controller which compared with PI controller.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy dynamic output feedback controller design method for Parallel Distributed Compensation (PDC)-type Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model based fuzzy dynamic system with H$\infty$ performance and additional constraints on the closed pole placement. Design condition for these controller is obtained in terms of the linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). The proposed fuzzy controller satisfies the disturbance rejection performance and the desired transient response. The design method is verified by this method for an inverted pendulum with a cart using the proposed method.

  • In this paper we present a method of reducing controller design problem from LQG/LTR approach to H.inf. optimization. The condition of the existance of the optimal solution is derived. In order to derive the controller equation for NMP plant we reduce the H.inf. LTR problem to Nehari's extension problem and derive the optimal controller equation which is best approximation for this problem. Furthermore, we show that the controller obtained by presented method guarantee the asymptotic LTR condition and stability of closed loop system.

  • An $H_2$ tracking controller is proposed for networked control systems. The network induced delay is assumed to be time varying and vary in the known range. The proposed controller guarantees stability and $H_2$ performance for all time varying delay in the known range. The proposed controller is verified using a simple networked motor control system.

  • This paper presents an LMI(Linear Matrix Inequalities) method for designing the optimal decoupling controller. The proposed controller based on the Two-Degree-of-Freedom configuration considers both the performance of controller and decoupling properties. The decoupling controller parameters are obtained from LMI method for computational efficiency.

  • 본 논문에서는 압전세라믹 가진기와 검출기를 부착한 평판 진동 시스템을 구축하고 이를 효과적으로 제어하기 위한 $H_2$ 제어기 설계기법을 제시한다. 본 논문의 실험에서 사용한 평판 시스템은 2개의 입력과 2개의 출력이 있는 다변수 시스템이며 정확한 전달행렬을 구하기 위하여 시스템 식별 실험을 수행하였다. 시스템 식별로부터 얻어진 평판 진동 시스템의 상태 공간 모델을 이용하여 $H_2$ 제어기를 설계하고, 설계된 $H_2$ 제어기의 제어 성능은 시뮬레이션과 실제 실험을 통해 입증하였다.
