Numerical Analysis and Experiment of Environmental Control Cell for Ultra-nano Precision Machine (초정밀 가공기를 위한 환경 제어용 셀에 관한 실험 및 해석적 연구)

  • In ultra-precision machining, the inside temperature should be controlled precisely. The important factors are environmental conditions (outside temperature, humidity) and temperature conditions (cutting heat, spindle heat). Thus, in this study, an environmental control cell for the ultra-precision machine that could control the inside temperature and minimize effects of the surrounding environment to achieve a thermal deformation of less than 400nm of a specimen was designed and verified through C.F.D. Further, a method that could control the temperature precisely by using a blower, heat exchanger and heater was evaluated. As a result, this study established a C.F.D technic for the environmental control cell, and the specimen temperature was controlled to be within $17.465{\pm}0.055^{\circ}C$.

  • Recently, monitoring systems, such as POP, take a core role in scheduling or planning of manufacturing facilities for production, maintenance, and so on. Such monitoring systems require functionalities for real-time parameter monitoring and controlling to maximize efficiency of facilities. However, vendors usually do not provide internal communication protocols or interface to access the machine controller. Therefore, the values of parameters related to machine operations and controls cannot be easily accessed from external devices. In this paper, we propose an interface methodology for a real-time monitoring and controlling of injection molding machine parameters such as user input parameters, embedded sensor data and injection molding status information.

  • ITS(Intelligent Transportation System)는 H/W 중심의 차량 및 교통 기반 기설에 통신.전자.제어.컴퓨터 등 S/W 중심의 기술을 적용하여, 각 차량 및 교통 시설(신호등, 도로, 교통 안내 표지판, 도로 상황판 등)들이 상호 보완적으로 작동할 수 있게 함으로써, 기존의 도로 교통 시설의 이용 효과를 극대화하고, 그 안정성을 향상시키며, 교통 수요 관리를 목적으로 사용자에게 교통 정보를 제공하는 지능형 종합 기술 체계이다. 이러한 최첨단 도로교통 관리의 ITS를 이용한 서비스는 각 나라마다 달리 정의되는데, 우리나라에서는 첨단교통관리시스템(ATMS), 첨단교통정보시스템(ATIS), 상용차량 운행관리 시스템(CVO), 차량 및 도로 시스템(AVCS) 그리고 첨단 대중교통 시스템(APTS)의 5개 분야로 나누어진다(1). 이 다섯가지 ITS 서비스 시스템은 공통적으로 정보 수집, 정보 처리, 정보 전달, 정보 통신 기능을 가지고 있다. 즉, 각종 검지기, 차량 단말, 노변 단말 등의 수집 장치에서 수집된 정보(정보 수집)는 관련 통신 방식(정보 통신)을 통하여 중앙 정보 처리 센터에 전달되어 그 서비스 요구 사항에 따라 처리(정보 처리)되고, 생성된 정보는 해당되는 통신 채널을 거쳐(정보 통신) 각종 사용자 단말기에게 제공(정보 전달)된다. 본 논문에서는 이와 같은 ITS체계의 정의, 목표 및 서비스 종류에 대하여 설명하였으며 교통 정보를 수집하고 처리하여 전달하는 과정과 이에 요구되는 통신 체계에 대하여 알아본다.

Robust Torque Control for an Internal Combustion Engine with Nonlinear Uncertainty (비선형 불확실성을 갖는 내연기관의 강인한 토크제어)

  • If an internal combustion engine is operated by consolidated control, the minimum fuel consumption is achieved satisfying the demanded objectives. For this, it is necessary that the engine is operated on the ideal operating line which satisfies minimum fuel consumption. In this context of view, there are many tries to achieve given object. However, the parameter in the internal combustion engines are variable and depend on the operating points. Therefore, it is necessary to cope with the uncertainties such that the optimal operating may be possible. From this point of view, this paper gives a controller design method and a robust stability condition for engine torque control which satisfies the given control performance and robust stability in the presence of physical parameter perturbation. Exactly, the present paper considers a robust stability of this 2DOF servosystem with nonlinear type uncertainty in the engine system, and a robust stability condition for the servosystem is introduced. This result guarantees that if the plant uncertainty is in the permissible set defined by the given condition then a gain tuning can be carried out to suppress the influence of the plant uncertainties.

  • A hybridized simulator for generating blood pressure waveform is proposed to study the remedy and/or evaluation of the conventional sphygmomanometer utilizing the oscillometric method which is widely applied. The blood pressure of a flowing fluid was controlled for the blood vessel's condition caused by a rhythmical and periodical contraction/relaxation because of the special excitatory and conductive system of the heart. In this study, a hybridized controller composed of the PI feedback controller and the feedforward controller. The inverse dynamics function is proposed to operating the control valve while the pressure is applied in an oil pressure tank. The proposed hybrid simulator reproducing the blood pressure waveform in an artificial blood vessel has kept the control performance consistent over all range. Based on these results, the proposed simulators could be applied to the development and compensation of the non invasive sphygmomanometer type as well as to study the characteristics of the blood pressure and blood vessel.

  • Photovoltaic systems normally use a maximum power point tracking (MPPT) technique to continuously deliver the highest possible power to the load when variations in the insolation and temperature occur. A simple method of tracking the maximum power points (MPPs) and forcing the boost converter system to operate close to these points is presented through deriving small-signal model and transfer function of boost converter. This paper aims at modeling boost converter including equivalent series resistance of input reservoir capacitor by state-space-averaging method. In the future, properly designed controller for compensation will be constructed for maximum photovoltaic power tracking control.

  • An automatic control system is proposed and implemented for a miniaturized DNA extraction system using magnetic bead. A host-local system is employed for the accommodation of the graphical user interface and the basic control function. The functional partitioning into the local and the host system is discussed. The control functions are classified and formalized for the flexible control scenario, which is the input of the proposed system. As the proposed scenario is consists of the sequence of the user-centric actions, the user goal can be easily programmed and modified. The DNA extraction performance of the implemented system was compared with the existing silica-membrane-based method, resulting in the comparable concentration and purity of the extracted DNA. The proposed system is currently being utilized for the development of the DNA extraction system only changing scenario, without any alteration of the system.

  • A vacuum chamber temperature control system of Pohang Accelerator Laboratory (PAL) storage ring is a subsystem upgraded PAL control system, which is based upon Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System (EPICS) [1]. There are two control components, data acquisition system (SA120 data logger), development control system IOC (Input/Output Controller) at the storage ring of PAL. There are 240 vacuum chamber at the storage ring. It was a very important problem to solve how to monitor such a large number of vacuum chamber temperature distributed around the ring. The IOC connect MODBUS/JBUS field network to asynchronous serial ports for communication with serial device. It can simultaneously control up to 4 data acquisition systems. Upon receiving a command from a IOC running under Windows2k through the network, the IOC communicate through the slave serial interface ports to SA120. We added some software components on the top of EPICS toolkit. The design of the vacuum control system is discussed. This paper describes the development vacuum chamber temperature control system and how the design of this system.

  • This paper presents a new scheme of neural network controller to improve to improve the robustuous of robot manipulator using digital signal processors. Digital processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of variables. Digital version of most advanced control algorithms can be defined as sums and producrs of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fist in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of their prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. During past decade it was proposed the well-established theorys for the adaptive control of linear systems, but there exits relativly little gensral theoral for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Perforating of the proposed controller is illustrated. This paper describes a new approach to the design of adaptive controller and implementation of real-time control for assembling robotic manipulator using digital signal processor.   • 내연기관의 흡기 소음을 줄이기 위한 효과적인 소음 제어 요소로서 다공형 직조관(porous woven hose)이 널리 사용된다. 직조관이 사용된 흡기계의 음향 특성을 예측하기 위해서는 직조관의 임피던스(acoustic wall impedance)에 대한 정보를 알아야 한다. 그러나, 높은 저항(resistance), 두께, 곡률, 비균질성 등의 특수한 음향학적/구조적 특성 때문에 직조관의 임 피던스를 정확하게 측정하는 것은 쉽지 않다. 본 연구에서는 소음기의 전달손실(transmission loss)을 측정하는데 널리 사용되는 간단한 측정장치를 이용하여 직조관의 임피던스를 측정하였다. 측정된 임피던스에 대해 직조상태를 나타내는 인자와 주파수를 독립 변수로 사용하여 curve-fitting을 수행하여, 직조상태가 다른 직조관의 임피던스를 예측하였다. 이렇게 예측된 임피던스로부터 실제 사용되는 범위 내에서 임의의 길이를 가지는, 직조상태가 다른 직조관의 전달 손실을 예측하였고, 측정된 전달손실과 비교하여, 잘 일치하는 것을 확인하였다. 본 연구에서 제시한 방법은 직조관의 음향 특성을 파악하고, 직조관이 사용된 자동차 흡기계의 음향성능을 예측하는데 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
