Objective: To report the effect of Korean medicine treatment on a facial palsy patient with a cavernous malformation. Methods: The patient was treated with herbal medicine (Jodeung-san, 釣藤散) and acupuncture. The degree of treatment was measured by the Yanagihara-scale and by mobility of the face. Results: During treatment, the patient’s symptoms were relieved and facial movement was improved. Conclusion: This clinical case study showed the effect of herbal medicine and acupuncture on symptoms of facial palsy.

Objective: To report a case of a patient with a psychosomatic disorder who complained of hyperventilation and was treated with oriental medical treatments and emotional freedom techniques (EFTs). Methods: The patient was diagnosed as having a psychosomatic disorder through an interview and several psychological tests, such as the house-tree-person (HTP) and the person in the rain (PITR) tests. We treated the patient with oriental medical treatments that included herbal medications, western medications, moxibustion, cupping, and EFT. Results: After the treatments, the clinical symptoms of the patient were improved. Conclusions: Oriental medical treatments and EFT may be effective treatments for psychosomatic disorders.

Objectives : This report intended to estimate effect taken by using Sacro-Occipital Technique on the patient with Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus(Central type). Method : From 11 May, 2005 to 30 June, 2005. The patient recived Sacro-Occipital Technique and Acupuncture therapy. Result : After being hospitalized for 50 days. the patient's Motor Grade, ODI, VAS, ROM were improved each from IV to IV+. from 26 to 20, from 10 to 2, and ROM with flexion/entension, rotation were improved each from 70'/0' to 90'/12', from 30'/40' to 45'/55'. Conclusion : We considered Sacro-Occipital Technique has an useful effect on Herniation of Nucleus Pulposus

The Guk had lessened to use Gang, Whak, Tang. The Guk was classified into cooking method as a soup stock, the used main substances, and the temperature of the Guk. According to the soup stock were divided clear soup, Tojangguk, and Gooumguk. Another classification of Guk by main substances were Yuktang (meat soup), Otang (fish soup), bongtang (poultry soup), Shotang (vegetable soup), Japtang (vary substance soup) and Yonpotang (soybean-curd soup), and by the temperature of the Guk were divided Doounguk (warm soup) and Naengguk (cold soup). In the thesis, according to the kinds of Tojangguk, the reference frequency to them, the adding foods in them, and the variety cooking method in the Tojangguk were analyzed by the cook books published from 1700 to 1988 in Korea. 1. There were 29 kinds of Tojangguk. 2. The main substances of Tojangguk were meat, poultry, fish, shellfish, vegetable, mushrooms and seasonings. 3. The Tojangguk was boiled with the rice water and fermented soybean paste and fermented soybean-pepper powder paste. For the development of taste were added beef, shellfish, dried anchovy, dried small prawn, and soup stock of beef bones in winter. Seasoning substances were green onion, garlic, black pepper, sesame powder and oil.

Objective : The study has been performed to evaluate the effect of treatment for pain control of Plantar faciitis patients by using Deer antlar Herbal Acupuncture. Methods : This clinical study was carried out 3 cases with gout, who had been admitted from March, 2004 to Aug, 2004, in the department of acupunture and moxibustion, Dongguk University Oriental Medical Hospital. We treated the patients who were diagnosed as clinical manifestation. Results : There was remarkable improvement in condition of the patient treated by Herbal Acupuncture. Conclusions : There were reports about Herbal Acupuncture Treatment of Pantient with Plantar faciitis. It is very effective to reduce the pain and shortening the period of therapy.

Objectives: The aim of this study is to establish the association of GNB3 with obesity-index, blood pressure, glucose and lipid level. Methods: A total of 209 Korean obese subjects participated in the study. Body weight, body mass index(BMI), waist circumference, body fat, body fat mass, resting metabolic rate, blood pressure, total cholesterol, high density lipoprotein, triglyceride and fasting blood sugar test were measured by using standardized protocols. The GNB3 was genotyped by using polymerase chain reaction with restriction fragment length polymorphism. Results: The frequency of CC, CT, TT genotype were, respectively, 18,2%, 56.9%, 24,9%, and the frequency of T allele was 53.3% in Korean obese population. There were no association of GNB3 with obesity index, blood pressure, glucose and lipid level in Korean obese population. Conclusions: Obese Korea population have a higher frequency of T alle than general Korean population. There are no association of GNB3 with obesity index, blood pressure, glucose and lipid level in Korean obese population.

Objectives : In this case report, we will present three patients diagnosed with acute stress disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder improved by application of oriental medical treatments. Methods : We treated three patients with acute stress disorder or post-traumatic stress disorder by oriental medical treatments. The effect of oriental medical treatments were evaluated by STAI and clinical symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, palpitation, startle response. Results : As a result of oriental treatments, clinical symptoms such as anxiety, insomnia, palpitation, startle response were improved, and STAI scores also decreased. Conclusions : These results suggest that oriental treatments may have an effect on acute stress disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.

This paper proposes the control problem of an inverted pendulum system based on adaptive fuzzy sliding mode. The universal approximating capability, learning ability, adaptation capability and disturbance rejection are collected in one control strategy. The proposed scheme does not require an accurate dynamic model and the joint acceleration measurement, yet it guarantees asymptotic trajectory tracking. Experimental results perform with an inverted pendulum to show the effectiveness of the approach.

Static power converters can be analyzed by means of available circuit simulation software packages such as PSPICE. This paper proposes the macro models developing technique for three-phase power converters using the transfer function approach. Also, these models are based on converter switching functions rather than actual circuit configuration. In this approach, VSI(Voltage Source Inverter) and CSI(Current Source Inverter) are simulated as multiport networks avoiding nonlinear macromodels of the power switches.

Wild rats inhabiting pundang area where urbanized since 1989 were there species including apodemus agrarius. amoung them, a. agrarius was dominant as shown in other areas of korea. They were captured much more 85.00$\pm$9.46 per ha., 64.40$\pm$7.50 per ha. respectively in may and August than inother seasons all through the year. The proportion of female and male was in the ratio of 2 to 1 regardless of the season and habitat, and this species was inhabiting more at oak forest community in summer and at hill-upland boundary in winter than at other habitats in the same season. The change of environment by new urbanizing did not affect in density of wild rats. In general, seasonal percentage of capture in different habitats inceased in accordance with high density.
