Effect of Peer Tutoring on Core Basic Nursing Skills for Nursing Students (간호학생의 핵심기본간호술에 또래교수법(Peer Tutoring)이 미치는 효과)

  • Purpose: This study aim to test the effect of peer-tutoring program on the level of performance, confidence, learning satisfaction of nursing students in practicing core basic nursing skills. Methods: The subjects were 148 nursing students in C university from March to June 2016. The experimental group(n=75) taken in peer tutoring program and control group(n=73) learned the lecturer-guided practice. Results: In foley and nelaton catheterization, the score of performance, confidence and learning satisfaction of experiment group are higher than control group statistically. In PO medication, learning satisfaction of experiment group is higher than control group but performance and confidence are not different statistically. Conclusion: Using peer-tutoring program be effective for nursing students in improving the competency of core basic nursing skills partially and recommend to utilize for core nursing skills training.

Performing an Instructional Simulation Using a Socrates' Method by the Connection of In-Service Teachers Education and Pre-Service Teachers Education (현직교사 교육과 예비교사 교육의 연계를 통한 산파법 관점에서의 모의수업 실행 사례)

  • This study is a follow-up study of the previous research for teacher education(Kim Nam Hee, 2006, 2009, 2013, 2014). This study was conducted with third grade students of the college of education in 2016. In this study, we guided to allow pre-service teachers to develop their teaching research ability and teaching practical skills using the results obtained from the in-service teachers training courses. Processes mainly performed in this study are as follows; learning the theory on Socrates' method, case study for thought experiment activities, instructional simulation using a Socrates' method, class analysis, textbook analysis, peer evaluation, self-assessment. Observing tutorial examples by in-service teachers, pre-service teachers were expanding their limited knowledge and experience. By analyzing the results obtained from this research processes, we checked the points to put more attention in future pre-service teachers education.

A study on the relationship between gaze guidance and cybersickness using Eyetracking (시선 추적기법을 활용한 시선 유도와 사이버 멀미 관계 연구)

  • The size of the virtual reality market is growing every year, but cybersickness that occurs in virtual reality has not been resolved yet. In this paper, results were derived through experiments on the relationship between cybersickness and gaze guidance occurring in virtual reality contents. Using eye tracking technique, the relationship of gaze movement with cybersickness was identified. The experiment was divided into two groups to find out whether visual induction affects cyber sickness. In addition, the results were analyzed by dividing the two groups to check whether cyber sickness showed different results according to gender. We also analyzed using the SSQ questionnaire to measure cybersickness. We tried to understand the relationship between gaze guidance and cybersickness through two methods. As a result of the experiment, it was found that the induction of a clear gaze caused the concentration of the gaze, and it was effective in cybersickness through the rotation of the camera. In order to alleviate cyber sickness, it has been confirmed that concentrating one's eyes through gaze-guided production is effective for cyber sickness. It is hoped that this result will be used as a way to alleviate cyber sickness for producers who want to use virtual reality to produce content.

Image Completion using Belief Propagation Based on Planar Priorities

  • Automatic image completion techniques have difficulty processing images in which the target region has multiple planes or is non-facade. Here, we propose a new image completion method that uses belief propagation based on planar priorities. We first calculate planar information, which includes planar projection parameters, plane segments, and repetitive regularity extractions within the plane. Next, we convert this planar information into planar guide knowledge using the prior probabilities of patch transforms and offsets. Using the energy of the discrete Markov Random Field (MRF), we then define an objective function for image completion that uses the planar guide knowledge. Finally, in order to effectively optimize the MRF, we propose a new optimization scheme, termed Planar Priority-belief propagation that includes message-scheduling-based planar priority and dynamic label cropping. The results of experiment show that our approach exhibits advanced performance compared with existing approaches.

A Study On Operation Method of Handling Equipments in Automated Container Terminals (자동화 컨테이너터미널에서 운송장비의 운영방안에 관한 연구)

  • The main subject to become a hub port is automation. The automated container terminal has already operated in advanced ports and it has been planned for the basic planning and operation design in domestic case. The key of automated container terminal is effective operation of both ATC(automated transfer crane) and AGV(automated guided vehicle) which is automated handling equipments. This is essential to productivity of automated container terminal. This study suggests the most optimal method of equipment operation in order to minimize loading time using each three types of effective ATC operation methods and AGV dispatching rules in automated container terminals. As the automated equipment operation causes unexpected deadlocks or interferences, it should be proceeded on event-based real time. Therefore we propose the most effective ATC operation methods and AGV dispatching rules in this paper. The various states occurred in real automated container terminals are simulated to evaluate these methods. This experiment will show the most robust automated equipment operation method on various parameters(the degree of yard re-marshaling, the number of containers and AGV)

  • This paper presents a study of path-planning method for AGV(automated guided vehicle) based on path-tracking. It is important to find an optimized path among the AGV techniques. This is due to the fact that the AGV is conditioned to follow the predetermined path. Consequently, the path-planning method is implemented directly affects the whole AGV operation in terms of its performance efficiency. In many existing methods are used optimization algorithms to find optimized path. However, such methods are often prone with problems in handling the issue of inefficiency that exists in system's operation due to inherent undue time delay created by heavy load of complex computation. To solve such problems, we offer path-planning method using modified binary tree. For the purpose of our experiment, we initially designed a AGV that is equiped with laser navigation, two encoders, a gyro sensor that is meant to be operated within actual environment with given set of constrictions and layout for the AGV testing. The result of our study reflects the fact that within such environments, the proposed method showed improvement in its efficiency in finding optimized path.

  • This study empirically investigates the design factors that could engender positive impacts on consumers' user experiences with respect to trust, attitude, and intent to purchase a product promoted in the virtual reality (VR) e-commerce environment. Guided by previous literature, we specifically test the role of schema congruity due to the design of the space and virtual agent on trust, attitude, and purchase intention in the context of VR e-commerce. To test the effect of the congruency between user's schema and virtual environment design on user intentions, a 2 × 2 mixed ANOVA design experiment was conducted with place creativity (Low vs. High) as a within factor and workplace attire (Casual vs. Formal) as a between factor. The result showed support for the effect of schema congruity on trust, in that interaction of the two factors were found. Significant positive relationship between trust, attitude, and purchase intention was found. Further implications are discussed based on results.

The Development of an Online Scientific Inquiry Learning System (온라인 과학 탐구 학습체제의 개발)

  • In this paper, an Online Scientific Inquiry Learning System was developed with the aim of improving student's scientific literacy and scientific inquiry ability. It was determined that there should be 4 distinct principles applicable to the design of the Learning system. First, it should enrich learner's motivation. Second, it should provide students with the chance for reflecting on the inquiry process. Third, it should emphasize multi-dimensional forms of interaction. Fourth, students should be able to create new information through it. The server system including the database, equation editor, reporting tool, search engine were all utilized for developing the learning system. In addition, the authors produced 24 web-based projects which were guided inquiry activities in which various inquiry abilities (reasoning, prediction, experiment design) could be developed. An Online Scientific Inquiry Learning System is not the only program which could be utilized in improving scientific inquiry abilities, but at the very least, such a system can serve as the prototype for developing an online learning system.

Optical Characteristics of LGP with Nanometer-patterned Grating (나노미터 패턴 회절격자 도광판의 광특성)

  • The LGP with nanometer structures resulted in enhancement of optical efficiency. Its fundamental mechanism is to recycle the polarized light via one round-trip through QWP(Quarter-Wave Plate) but the maximum efficiency to reach with this method is limited up to 2. To get the larger efficiency than this limited one a LGP with nanometer-patterned grating is suggested. For its optimum design the computer simulation is performed and suggests a grating that the spatial frequency between adjacent patterns is 500nm, its height 250nm, duty cycle 50%, and its cross section is rectangular. On the basis of simulation results the LGP with nanometer-patterned grating is fabricated and its optical properties such as angular intensity distribution and CIE color coordinates are characterized. The angles of transmitted light are nearly the same as the results expected from the generalized Snell's law. Thus the Mathematica code, developed in this experiment, will be applied to designing the optimized LGP. The LGP with nanometer-patterened grating shows the enhancement of transmitted intensity distribution up to 4.9 times.

Isolation and Identification of an Autophagy-inducing Compound from Raphani Semen

  • The autophagy-lysosomal pathway is an important protein degradation system, and its dysfunction has been implicated in a number of neurodegenerative diseases, including Parkinson's disease. Raphani Semen, one of the herbs of Yeoldahanso-tang (YH), has neuroprotective effects via the autophagy pathway. The activity-guided method was used to isolate and identify the components of Raphani Semen. In this experiment, the total extract of Raphani Semen was partitioned to n-butanol, methylene chloride, and water fractions. Flow cytometry data showed that only the water fraction showed autophagy-inducing activity in vitro. Compounds 1 and 2 were isolated from this water fraction by preparative HPLC separation. The structures of compounds 1 and 2 were identified as stachyose and raffinose, respectively, by the analysis of various spectral data ($^1H$ NMR, $^{13}C$ NMR, and MS) and comparisons with standard stachyose and raffinose. Of these two compounds, raffinose showed autophagy-inducing activity in PC12 cells through the mTOR pathway.
