Growth monitoring of highland Kimchi cabbage is very important to respond the fluctuations in supply and demand from middle of August to early September in Korea. For evaluating Kimchi cabbage growth, it needs to classify the transplanting period of Kimchi cabbage, preferentially. This study was conducted to estimate the transplanting period of highland Kimchi cabbage from 2015 to 2016 in the main production area of highland Kimchi cabbage, Anbandegi, Maebongsan, and Gwinemi. Correlation between NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) from UAV images and days after transplanting of Kimchi cabbage was high in early transplanting period. But because the growth curve of Kimchi cabbage showed S-type, joint use of multi-temporal linear regression equation for estimation of transplanting period was more suitable. Using application of these equations at Anbandegi, Maebongsan, and Gwinemi, we made the map of transplanting periods of highland Kimchi cabbage. Generally, highland Kimchi cabbage is harvested in sixty days later since transplanting. As a result, we could estimate the harvest time and area of highland Kimchi cabbage.

ZnO films on $Al_2O_3$ substrates were grown using a pulsed laser deposition method. Through photoluminescence (PL) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) measurements, the optimum growth conditions for the ZnO growth were established. The results of the XRD measurements indicate that ZnO films were strongly oriented to the c-axis of the hexagonal structure and epitaxially crystallized under constraints created by the substrate. The full width half maximum for a theta curve of the (0002) peak was $0.201^{\circ}$. Also, from the PL measurements, the grown ZnO films were observed to give free exciton behaviour, which indicates a high quality of the epilayer. The Hall mobility and carrier density of the ZnO films at 293 K were estimated to be $299\;cm^2/V\;s$ and $8.27\;{\times}\;10^{16}\;cm^{-3}$, respectively. The absorption spectra revealed that the temperature dependance of the optical band gap on the ZnO films was $E_g(T)\;=\;3.439\;eV\;-\;(5.30\;{\times}\;10^{-4}\;ev/K)T^2(367\;+\;T)$.

Fracture process of continuous fiber reinforced composites is very complex because various fracture mechanisms such as matrix cracking, debonding, delamination and fiber breaking occur simultaneously during crack growth. If fibers cause crack bridging during crack growth, the stable crack growth and unstable crack growth appear repeatedly. Therefore, it is very difficult to exactly determine tile starting point of crack growth and the fracture toughness at the critical crack length in composites. In this research, fracture toughness test for CFRP was accomplished by using acoustic emission(AE) and recording of tile fracture process in real time by video-microscope. The starting point of crack growth, pop-in point and the point of unstable crack growth can be exactly determined. Each fracture mechanism can be classified by analyzing the fracture process through AE and video-microscope. The more reliable method ior the fracture toughness measurement of composite materials was proposed by using the combination of R-curve method, AE and video microscope.

Objective: Growth performance and growth-related traits have a crucial role in livestock due to their influence on productivity. This genome-wide association study (GWAS) in Pakistani dromedary camels was conducted to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with growth at specific camel ages, and for selected SNPs, to investigate in detail how their effects change with increasing camel age. This is the first GWAS conducted on dromedary camels in this region. Methods: Two Pakistani breeds, Marecha and Lassi, were selected for this study. A genotyping-by-sequencing method was used, and a total of 65,644 SNPs were identified. For GWAS, weight records data with several body weight traits, namely, birthweight, weaning weight, and weights of camels at 1, 2, 4, and 6 years of age were analysed by using model-based growth curve analysis. Age-specific weight data were analysed with a linear mixed model that included fixed effects of SNP genotype as well as sex. Results: Based on the q-value method for false discovery control, for Marecha camels, five SNPs at q<0.01 and 96 at q<0.05 were significantly associated with the weight traits considered, while three (q<0.01) and seven (q<0.05) SNP associations were identified for Lassi camels. Several candidate genes harbouring these SNP were discovered. Conclusion: These results will help to better understand the genetic architecture of growth including how these genes are expressed at different phases of their life. This will serve to lay the foundations for applied breeding programs of camels by allowing the genetic selection of superior animals.
The purpose of this Study was to investigate the prevalence rate of idiopathic scoliosis to the students from the elementary to the university in S city of Chung-Nam using 100 mm Mirror Camera radiation indirect examination units, with on age range of between eight and thirteen (1.526 subjects), fourteen and sixteen (462 subjects), seventeen and eighteen (291 subjects), nineteen and twenty four(508 subjects) and total of 2,787 participants with the 590 male subjects and 2,197 female subjects. The results of this study can be summarized and compared the primary examination with the secondary test of greater than $10^{\circ}$of Cobb's Angle were obtained as follows; 1. Indirect Examination were conducted to find idiopathic scoliosis amomg total 2.787 subjects, 257 subjects (9.2%) who showed positive sign greater than $10^{\circ}$in the Cobb's Angle ; below age of thirteen (132 subjects), between fourteen and sixteen (52 subjects), seventeen and eighteen (35 subjects), nineteen and twenty four (38 subjects). The $x^2-test$ analysis of Indirect Examination showed no statistical significant difference association between the age range and $10^{\circ}$Cobb's Angle of spinal curve(P>0.059). 2. The numbers of idiopathic scoliosis of greater than $10^{\circ}$Cobb's Angle of spinal curve in the primary examination were observed in 147 subjects (57.2%) at the Thoracolumbar region, 81subjects (31.5%) at the Thoracic region, 20 subjects (7.8%) at the Cervicothoracic region, 7 subjects (2.7%) at the Lumbar region, 2 subjects (0.8%) at the Cervical region. So, the large numbers were Thoracolumbar region, 183 participants (71.2%) showed the right side curve of scoliosis and 74 participant (28.8%) showed the left side curve of scoliosis. 3. The main region of the pain in one's own self more than $10^{\circ}$ Cobb's angle of spinal curve were no pain 219 subjects (85.2%), 18 subjects (7.0%) at the Lumbar region, 9 subjects (3.5%) at the Cervical region, 7 subjects (2.7%) at the Thoracic region, 2 subjects (0.7%) at the shoulder girdle region, 1 subjects (0.39%) at the pelvis and whole body region. There was statistical significant difference association between the Cobb's Angle of spinal curve and the main pain region of one's (P<0.006). This study may be significant to an early stage investigate of the prevalence rate of idiopathic scoliosis in the juveniles using 100 mm Mirror Camera radiation indirect examination units. The results of this study help that the students in a stage on growth the basis of data early discovery and therapy of idiopathic scoliosis.
Antimicrobial effect of Lithospermum erythrorhizon extracts against food-borne pathogens was investigated. L. erythrorhizon was extracted with methanol at room temperature, and the extraction was sequentially fractionated using petroleum ether, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol. Antimicrobial activity of L. erythrorhizon extracts was determined using paper disc method against food-borne pathogens and food spoilage bacteria. Ethyl acetate extracts of L. erythrorhizon showed the highest activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Shigella dysenteriae. Synergistic effect was found in combined extracts of L. erythrorhizon and Sophora subprostrata as compared with each extract alone. Growth inhibition curve was determined using ethyl acetate extracts of L. erythrorhizon, against S. aureus and S. dysenteriae. Ethyl acetate extract of L. erythrorhizon, showed strong antimicrobial activity against S. aureus at 4,000 ppm, retarding growth of S. aureus more than 48 hr and S. dysenteriae up to 12 hr.
The effects of various nutrients added to soy protein concentrate (SPC)-yogurt on the growth of Lactobacillus acidophilus and the flavor of SPC-yogurt were investigated. Soy milk was prepared from SPC (4.2% as protein) and various nutrients. One hundred ml of the prepared soy milk was given proper heat treatment, inoculated with 2.5ml of 24 hr-old culture, and incubated for 24 hr at $37^{\circ}C$. The growth of L. acidophilus was estimated from viable cell counts, titratable acidity and pH. The growth curve obtained from the experiment suggested that the log phase ended after 6 hr and the stationary phase ended after 30 hr. Glucose and fructose greatly enhanced the acid production by L. acidophilus. The optimum concentration of these two sugars in the media was approximately 3% each. Yeast extract greatly stimulated the acid production by L. acidophilus, and the optimum concentration of this additive was approximately 0.5%. Higher concentration of SPC resulted in slightly higher acidity in soy yogurt.
Kluyveromyces marxinus LG contains an inulase activity which is inducible by growth on inulin. The highest enzyme activity obtained at the initial stage of stationary phase of growth curve. The partially purified inulase hydrolyzed inulin, sucrose and raffinose. This enzyme showed the maximal activity at pH 4.0 and temperature of $55^{\circ}C$ for inulin and sucrose. It was also markedly inhibited by $Hg^{++}\;and\;Ag^{+}$ but not EDTA. This inulase was charaterized as a undo type which contains invertase activity and Km values for inulin and sucrose were $1.2{\times}10^{-2}M\;and\;1.3{\times}10^{-4}M$, respectively.
In this research, the effects of fiber stacking sequence on damage behaviors of FML(Fiber Metal Laminates) subject to indentation loading. SOP (Singly Oriented Ply) FML and angle ply FML were fabricated to study fiber orientation effects and angle ply effects. FML were fabricated by using 1050 aluminum laminate and carbon/epoxy prepreg. To increase adhesive bonding strength, Al laminate was etched using FPL methods. The static indentation test were conducted by using UTM(5ton, Shimadzu) under the 2side clamped conditions. During the tests, load and displacement curve and crack initiation and propagation behaviors were investigated. As fiber orientation angle increases, the crack initiation load of SOP FML increases because the stiffness induced by fiber orientation is increased. The penetration load of SOP FML is influenced by the deformation tendency and boundary conditions. However, the macro-crack of angle ply FML was initiated by fiber breakage of lower ply because angle plies in Angle ply FML prevents the crack growth and consolidation. The Angle ply FML has a critical cross-angle which prevent crack growth and consolidation. Damage behavior of Angle ply FML is changed around the critical cross-angle.
This paper evaluates software cost estimation models, and presents the most suitable model. First, we transformed a relevant model into variables to make in linear. Second, we evaluated model's performance considering how much suitable the cost data of the actual development software was. In the stage of model performance evaluation criteria, we used MMRE which is the relative error concept rather than the absolute error. Existing software cost estimation model follows Weibull, Gamma, and Rayleigh function. In this paper, Gompertz function model is suggested which is a kind of growth curve. Additionally, we verify the compatability of other different growth curves. As a result of evaluation of model's performance, Gompertz function was considered to be the most suitable for the cost estimation model.
