Mushrooms in Naejangsan National Park between May and September of 2021 have been surveyed. In this period, a total of 4 divisions, 9 classes, 25 orders, 72 families, 171 genera, and 381 species, including 3 climate-sensitive biological indicator species were found. The order in which the most diverse array of species was observed is Agaricales, which includes 24 families, 64 genera, and 170 species. Among these, the genus Russula was dominant, with 30 species, followed by the genus Amanita with 27 species. Among the 12 grids we investigated, species diversity was greatest in grid F5, in which 56 species of mushrooms were found. In particular, a large number of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms, including Russula spp. and Lactarius spp. were recognized. We presume that the gentle slopes and the low occurrence of Sasa borealis in this area may create a favorable environment for wild mushrooms. In corroboration, some grids (e.g. F6, F8, and F10) covering steep slopes and harboring large numbers of Sasa borealis contained only 19 species. Based on DNA sequence analysis, the NJ21064 was identified as Chlorophyllum hortense, which is newly recorded in Korea.

As pedestrian deaths account for a high proportion of traffic accident deaths in Korea, interest in pedestrian safety is growing. In particular, it is necessary to develop various pedestrian-centered traffic signal operation techniques to improve the pedestrian environment at signal intersections. Therefore, in this study, a method for time-of-day operating a pedestrian signal based on residual pedestrians was studied. To this end, the pedestrian signal operation technique in response to the pedestrian demand, which is operated by extending the pedestrian signal time only during the time when the pedestrian demand and the number of remaining pedestrians increase, was applied to the field. The difference in safety according to the application of the new pedestrian signal operation technique was statistically analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the residual pedestrian rate decreased by 20% (3.3 people) before application and 8% (1.4 people) after application, and the residual pedestrian rate in the crosswalk at the time of red signal decreased by 12% (1.9 people), And it was analyzed that the position of the residual pedestrian decreased by 3.3m from 5.2m before application to 1.9m after application.
Global virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) markets are growing as VR and AR become a new source of revenue for industries around the world. In the edutech sector, an industry that combines traditional education, research on new innovative educational models and business models are scarce, and improvements are needed in the technology group and business environment to realize edutech in detail. Therefore, this study aims to define the elements strategically required for VR Toon development by comparing and analyzing the characteristics of existing touch panel-based display Toon and VR Toon content experiences. Tablet PC Toon and VR Toon were selected to conduct the research. Thirty people (19 men and 11 women) from their teens through their forties were surveyed using questionnaires. The questionnaires were formulated through a quantitative method by using AttrakDiff with a 7-point scale (-3: negative words to 3: positive words). Qualitative evaluations were also performed addressing nine concepts (satisfaction, novelty, operability, creativity, understanding, education, interest, participation, expressiveness). As a result, the usability test results of educational content using tablet personal computers and VR equipment were analyzed from the viewpoint of user experience to define elements expected to be strategically required for VR Toon development.

The article deals with the role of extra-curricular work by means of multimedia technologies in order to improve the quality of training of future specialists. An important condition for achieving high results in training specialists is the optimal combination of classroom and independent extra-curricular work of students by means of multimedia technologies. Very significant is the development of student independence, the formation of skills of independent search activity, the ability to take responsibility, independently solve a problem, find constructive solutions, a way out of a crisis situation, and so on. Extra-curricular work forms students' ability to master the techniques of analysis, synthesis, generalization, comparison; develops flexibility of thinking; opens up opportunities for the development and stabilization of positive learning motives to activate the process of mastering knowledge by means of multimedia technologies as a means of forming the personality of a highly qualified specialist. The concept of multimedia as one of the priority areas of Information Technology, which plays a particularly important role in the process of informatization of education, is revealed, and its advantages in education are shown. The advent of multimedia systems optimizes transformations in education, in many areas of professional activity, science, art, etc. The necessity of distance learning to improve the quality of training of future specialists using multimedia technologies in extra-curricular work is justified. The effectiveness of pedagogical support in the process of distance learning is achieved by the following conditions, which is revealed in the article. Various forms and types of extra-curricular work of students that are used in the modern practice of the educational environment of a higher education institution are described. Scientific and informational activity is considered a key area of information activity. The analysis of scientific and information activities in the field of education allows us to identify its main functions, which emphasize the growing role of scientific information in the education system, in particular, extra-curricular work using multimedia technologies. Operational, complete, accurate, targeted information that meets objective and subjective needs becomes an important link between the field of management, science and practice.

Objectives: Tic disorders are highly heritable; however, growing evidence suggests that environmental factors play a significant role in their pathogenesis. Studies on these factors have been inconsistent, with conflicting results. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the associations of pre- and perinatal exposure to Tourette syndrome (TS) or chronic tic disorders (CTD) in Korean school-aged children. Methods: This case-control study used data from a large prospective cohort study. The primary outcome was TS/CTD diagnosis according to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition (DSM-5) criteria and Kiddie-Schedule for Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia-Present and Lifetime Version-Korean Version. Demographic, pre-, and perinatal information was obtained from the maternal questionnaires. Data between the TS/CTD and control groups were compared using the chi-squared or Student's t-test, as appropriate. Two-step logistic regression analyses were used to test the association between TS/CTD and pre- and perinatal risk factors. Results: We included of 223 children (78 with TS/CTD and 145 controls). Significant differences in the demographic data between the two groups were observed. The male sex ratio, mean parental age, parental final education level, and family history of tics were included as confounders. In the final adjusted multivariable model, TS/CTD was significantly associated with antiemetic exposure during pregnancy (odds ratio [OR]=16.61, 95% confidence interval [CI] 1.49-185.22, p=0.02) and medically assisted reproduction (OR=7.89, 95% CI 2.28-27.28, p=0.01). Conclusion: Antiemetic exposure and medically assisted reproduction are significantly associated with the risk of TS/CTD. These results should be replicated in future prospective and gene-by-environment studies.

To use kenaf (Hibiscus cannabinus L.) as a fiber and livestock feed, a high-yielding variety needs to be identified. For this, accurate phenotyping of plant height is required for this breeding purpose due to the strong relationship between plant height and yield. Plant height can be estimated using RGB images from unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV-RGB) and photogrammetry based on Structure from Motion (SfM) algorithms. In kenaf, accurate measurement of height is limited because kenaf stems have high flexibility and its height is easily affected by wind, growing up to 3 ~ 4 m. Therefore, we aimed to identify a method suitable for the accurate estimation of plant height of kenaf and investigate the feasibility of using the UAV-RGB-derived plant height map. Height estimation derived from UAV-RGB was improved using multi-point calibration against the five different wooden structures with known heights (30, 60, 90, 120, and 150 cm). Using the proposed method, we analyzed the variation in temporal height of 23 kenaf cultivars. Our results demontrated that the actual and estimated heights were reliably comparable with the coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.80 and a slope of 0.94. This method enabled the effective identification of cultivars with significantly different heights at each growth stages.

Research performance evaluation has been based heavily on quantitative criteria. Various limitations however were revealed and the demand for excellence in research quality was growing and the importance of qualitative evaluation factors was increasing as well. The study investigates and introduces cases for improving research evaluation that have appeared around the world since 2010. To extract qualitative factors that can be introduced in research achievement evaluation in Korea this study investigated and organized the performance evaluation cases of foreign universities and proposed the introduction of the evaluation method in Korea. Qualitative evaluation factors were extracted by analyzing achievement evaluation documents evaluation procedures and evaluation standards of top 10 universities around the world. As a results this study proposes the use of various performance evaluation documents mulch-faceted evaluation and multi-level performance evaluation process and various qualitative performance evaluation standards. In traditional bibliometrics, while the degree of citation was measured when generating research evaluation indicators, future indicators may reflect recommendation scores as indicators, or include industrial connectivity and utilization in education / industry. It is hoped that the performance evaluation method will be balanced through this paper and ultimately the professor's research achievement evaluation will be a process that can help individuals grow into excellent researchers and develop the research environment.

Recently, a lot of discussions are underway in the field of introducing new technologies about the rapidly growing metaverse. However, the degree of acceptance of metaverse users at the beginning of the introduction is different from expectations, so research should be conducted for the continuous use of current real users and service success. In this study, we would like to investigate the relationship between four experience factors according to Metaverse's experiential economy theory, and perceived value and intention to continue use. A survey was conducted on metaverse real-life veterans, and 177 questionnaires were finally analyzed. The collected data were empirically analyzed using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 21.0. As a result; First, it was found that all the experience factors of the metaverse had a positive effect on the perceived value. Second, all of the experience factors of metaverse were found to have a positive effect on the intention to continue use. Third, perceived value was found to have a positive effect on the intention to continue use. Based on the analysis results, the implications and limitations of this study were presented. Based on the analysis results, metaverse should provide and develop various experience factors differentiated from reality to users. In addition, providing an experience environment and value that metaverse users can perceive will increase users' intention to continue using it.

In recent years, the growing interest in off-site construction has led to factories scaling up their manufacturing and production processes in the construction sector. Consequently, continuous large-scale site monitoring in low-variability environments, such as prefabricated components production plants (precast concrete production), has gained increasing importance. Although many studies on computer vision-based site monitoring have been conducted, challenges for deploying this technology for large-scale field applications still remain. One of the issues is collecting and transmitting vast amounts of video data. Continuous site monitoring systems are based on real-time video data collection and analysis, which requires excessive computational resources and network traffic. In addition, it is difficult to integrate various object information with different sizes and scales into a single scene. Various sizes and types of objects (e.g., workers, heavy equipment, and materials) exist in a plant production environment, and these objects should be detected simultaneously for effective site monitoring. However, with the existing object detection algorithms, it is difficult to simultaneously detect objects with significant differences in size because collecting and training massive amounts of object image data with various scales is necessary. This study thus developed a large-scale site monitoring system using edge computing and a small-object detection system to solve these problems. Edge computing is a distributed information technology architecture wherein the image or video data is processed near the originating source, not on a centralized server or cloud. By inferring information from the AI computing module equipped with CCTVs and communicating only the processed information with the server, it is possible to reduce excessive network traffic. Small-object detection is an innovative method to detect different-sized objects by cropping the raw image and setting the appropriate number of rows and columns for image splitting based on the target object size. This enables the detection of small objects from cropped and magnified images. The detected small objects can then be expressed in the original image. In the inference process, this study used the YOLO-v5 algorithm, known for its fast processing speed and widely used for real-time object detection. This method could effectively detect large and even small objects that were difficult to detect with the existing object detection algorithms. When the large-scale site monitoring system was tested, it performed well in detecting small objects, such as workers in a large-scale view of construction sites, which were inaccurately detected by the existing algorithms. Our next goal is to incorporate various safety monitoring and risk analysis algorithms into this system, such as collision risk estimation, based on the time-to-collision concept, enabling the optimization of safety routes by accumulating workers' paths and inferring the risky areas based on workers' trajectory patterns. Through such developments, this continuous large-scale site monitoring system can guide a construction plant's safety management system more effectively.
Suicide is the leading cause of death among Korean adolescents. There is a growing interest in the role of loneliness as a risk factor for suicide ideation and depressive symptoms. However, little is known in the Korean context. This study analyzed a total of 109,796 respondents from the Korea Youth Health Behavior Survey in 2020 and 2021. Multiple logistic regression models were implemented to test the association between loneliness and either of suicidal ideation and depressive mood. Covariates included demographic characteristics, school enrolled, household income, living arrangement, self-rated health, and the number of times treated for violence. Adjusted odd ratio (OR) and 95% confidence intervals (CI) were computed. 12.0% of adolescents reported to have felt lonely frequently and 3.0% always. 11.8% and 26.0% had suicidal ideation and depressive mood, respectively. The prevalence of suicidal ideation was higher in the always-lonely adolescents (52.6%) than in the frequently-lonely adolescents (35.1%). The always-lonely adolescents were nearly 30 times more likely to have suicidal ideation (OR=30.7; 95% CI, 27.1 - 34.8) and to feel depressed (OR=32.5; 95% CI, 29.2 - 36.4) than adolescents who felt never lonely. In conclusion, Loneliness was a major risk factor for suicidal ideation and depressive mood among Korean adolescents. Monitoring and addressing the condition of loneliness may help reduce suicidal ideation and depressive mood.
