The purpose of this study is to find out the effects of taping therapy on muscle activities between the group of taping therapy treatment and control group before or after exercises. The subjects are 18 S college's healthy male students who do not have any problems in the legs and could bend the knee joint normally. Considering physique, condition of health and capacity for locomotion, 3 groups of each 6 persons for the experimentation were classified. Three groups composed of control group without taping therapy treatment for control group, group I with taping therapy treatment only before the experimentation and group II with taping therapy treatment during 24 hour. before and after the experimentation. EMG MP150 was used to evaluate the parameter of the lower leg's muscle activities the exercise before 5 min. after 10 min. and after 24 hour. for the experimentation. Compared with control group, group I and group II had more increased muscle activities in vastus lateralis and rectus femoris and was statistically significant. And group I and group II also had more increase in muscle activities than control group in vastus medialis, although there was no statistically significant. We found that taping therapy increased muscle activity positively. The application of taping therapy could be used not only for preventive effects for sports man but also therapeutic effects for general people.
Objective : The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of Bee-Venom Therapy and common acupuncture therapy for the lateral epicondylitis. Methods : This study has been carried out for 24 cases of ankle sprain patients who have visited Dr. An Keun Hyeong's Oriental Clinic from april 1, 2004 to august 30, 2004. Purpose: This study examined whether mirror therapy could improve the balance, gait, and motor function of patients with subacute stroke. Methods: Thirty-three patients with subacute stroke were divided randomly into three groups: experimental group1, experimental group2, and the control group. The patients in experimental group1 performed a mirror therapy program on the unaffected side of the lower extremities, and the patients in experimental group2 performed mirror therapy on the affected side of the lower extremities. Both groups performed the exercise for 30 minutes per session, five times a week for four weeks. The control group did not receive mirror therapy. BBS, POMA, 10MWT, and the BRS were used to evaluate the balance, the quality of gait, gait speed, and the motor function before and after the intervention. Results: The gait speed increased significantly in the experimental groups1 and 2 after the intervention. The control group showed no significant difference in the gait speed after the intervention. The change in gait speed before and after the intervention showed a significant difference among the groups. Experimental group1 showed a significant increase in the gait speed compared to that of the control group. Conclusion: This study suggests that mirror therapy could be an effective intervention to improve the gait speed of patients with subacute stroke. On the other hand, there was no difference in the effectiveness of mirror therapy and therapeutic exercise on the balance, gait, and motor function.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of manual therapy on lower extremity alignment in pelvic malalignment. The subjects were 20 adults with pelvic malalignment. They were divided into two groups: manual therapy group (n=10) and stretching exercise group (n=10). Each group performed the intervention two times per week for 4 weeks. The lower extremity alignment was measured by pelvic deviation, functional leg length inequality, and plantar pressure distribution, which were measured between pre- and post-test. In the result of pelvic deviation, there was a significant difference between the pre- and post-test of the manual therapy group and stretching exercise group. In the result of the functional leg length inequality, there was a significant difference between the pre- and post-test of the manual therapy group. In the result of plantar pressure distribution, there was a significant difference between the pre- and post-test of the manual therapy group. These findings suggest manual therapy improves the pelvic deviation, functional leg length inequality, and plantar pressure distribution in the pelvic malalignment.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of group art therapy on maternal parenting stress and self-efficacy. The subjects of the study included 16 parents of elementary school students who participated in a group art therapy program offered at B Education Center, Pusan. Eight parents who wanted to receive parental education were allocated into an experimental group, While the other eight parents were regarded as the control group. Mothers in the experimental group participated in the group art therapy program which discussed parent education theories. This Program was composed of 17 sessions, performed once a week for one and a half hours. Research tools employed included parent stress test and parent self-efficacy test. The following results were obtained: Group art therapy was found to bring about a statistically significant decrease in parenting stress. Group art therapy was also found to bring about a statistically significant increase in parent self-efficacy. These results suggest that a program which integrates various parents education theories, within a group art therapy setting, can become an effective parent education tool which decreases maternal parenting stress and increases parent self efficacy.
The aim of the present study was to examine whether mirror therapy, in conjunction with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS), can improve the upper extremity function of stroke patient. This study was conducted with 35 subjects, who were diagnosed as a hemiparesis by stroke. The Mirror plus rTMS group was of 12 members who undertook mirror therapy in conjunction with rTMS, the Mirror group was of 11 members who undertook mirror therapy, and the control group was of 12 members who undertook sham therapy. A motor cortex excitability was performed by motor evoked potential, and upper limb function was evaluated by Fugl-Meyer Assessment, and Box and Block Test. Significant difference was shown after the experiment, in comparison of the groups in terms of latency, and as the result of post hoc test, significant difference was shown between the Mirror plus rTMS group and control group, and between the Mirror group and control group, respectively. Significant difference was shown after the experiment in comparison of the groups in amplitude, and as the result of post hoc test, significant difference was shown between the Mirror plus rTMS group and Mirror group, and between the Mirror plus rTMS group and control group. Significant difference was shown after the experiment, in comparison of the groups in FMA and BBT, and as the result of post hoc test, significant difference was shown between the Mirror plus rTMS group and Mirror group, and between the Mirror group and control group. The study showed that mirror therapy in conjunction with rTMS is more effective to improve upper extremity function, than mirror therapy and sham therapy.
