The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of nutrition education and aerobic exercise program on weight control program of middle aged abdominal obese women. Data for the study were collected from February 14 to April 22, 2005. The study objects were 10 pre-obese women and 10 obese women. The results were as follows; Body weight, body mass index, waist-hip ratio and waist circumference of pre-obese group and obese group were significantly decreased. Nutrition education and aerobic exercise program on body weight and waist circumference were more effective in obese group than in pre-obese group. Total Cholestreol and Creatinine of pre-obese group and Total Cholestreol, Creatinine, U/A and Glucose of obese group were significantly decreased. TG(Triglyceride), BUN(Blood Urea Nitrogen), U/A(Uric Acid), Glucose, SGOT(Serum Glutamic Oxaloacetic Transaminase) and SGPT(Serum Glutamic Pyruvic Transaminase) of prer-obese group and TG, BUN, SGOT and SGPT of obese group were no differences. Obesity management program on Total Cholestreol were more effective in obese group than in pre-obese group. Therefore, it is concluded that the nutrition education and aerobic exercise program on weight control program of middle aged abdominal obese women were more effective in obese group than in pre-obese group.
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of solution focused group counseling program on peer relationship and school life adaption of elementary school children. The subjects in this study were the 4th graders at S Elementary School in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do. 20 students were selected through the preliminary test of peer relationship and school life adaption, that is to say, each 10 students of experimental group and control group. A solution focused group counseling program was provided by researcher to the experimental group in six sessions once or twice a week, 60 minutes each. but control group was not conducted for any program. In verifying of the program effects in this study, KOREAN SPSS/WIN(version 12.0) is used for statistical analysis. The major findings of this study are as follows: First, solution focused group counseling program has a positive effect on all parts of sub-factors of peer relationship except to union life between friends. Second, solution focused group counseling program has a effect on the school life adaption of elementary and its all parts of sub-factors except to school rules. As noted above, it is proved that solution focused group counseling program has a positive effect to improve parts of sub-factors of peer relationship and school life adaption. Accordingly, it is necessary to feel satisfaction and Qualitative improvement in peer relationship and help school life adaptation of elementary school children through solution focused group counseling program.
The Purpose of this research was to introduce communication training program for positive parent-adolescent relation into home economics education curriculum. The research applied the program named "Making the desirable world 2" which was revised by K.E.T.I(Korea Effectiveness Training Institute). This program was given two hours a week during 8 weeks. The subject of this study was 24 students, divided into two groups, the experimental and the control group. This research supposed that parent-adolescent communication and self-esteem in the experimental group would significantly increase by group training program. The results of this research are as follows. First, parent-adolescent communication in the experimental group was significantly increased by the group training program. Second, self-esteem in the experimental group was significantly increased by the group training program. For home economics education as a practical subject matter, promoting qualitative maturity of students' family life, this study aimed both at enhancing communication for positive relation of parent-adolescent by group training and implementing home economics education curriculum practically.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effects of group exercise program on depression in the elders with dementia. Subjects of this research were selected from the patients of Hyoja hospital(Yongin, Korea). They were elders with dementia having minor to moderate degrees of cognitive function. Twenty-four subjects were randomly assigned into two groups, each with 12 people; exercise group and the control group. The control group only performed general physiotherapy, while the exercise group performed exercise program and general physiotherapy for 8 weeks. Depression of the exercise group and the control group were measured at baseline before the study, at 4 weeks, and at 8 weeks after the study. Depression was measured by Geriatric Depression Scale Short Form Korea Version(GDSSF-K). Firstly, when comparing the levels of depression within the same group, depression was significantly lower in the exercise group, after the group exercise program. However, depression of the control group did not show significant changes before or after the study. Secondly, when comparing the levels of depression of the control group and the exercise group, differences between the levels measured before the study and 8 weeks after the study, was a statistically significant decrease of depression. Thirdly, effects of group exercise program according to the applied period were analyzed showing 8 weeks of group exercise to be more beneficial than 4 weeks. People who performed continuous group exercise program showed decrease in depression compared to the absence of group exercise program. This can infer beneficial effects of group exercise program. Group exercise program had desirable influence on decreasing the level of depression.
Purpose: This study was done to develop an applicable training program for high school girls on sexual assertiveness. Method: The design combined methodological study and non-synchronized quasi experimental study designs. The participants were 174 high school girls from two schools. Two questionnaires were used, one consisted of 23 questions on self efficacy and the other, of 22 items on sexual assertiveness. The SPSS 10.0 program was used for data analysis. Experimental group 1(3 hour program) and experimental group 2(6 hour program) were received on sexual assertiveness. The sexual assertiveness program was carried out by members of the research team. There were no differences in demographic characteristics between control group, experimental group 1, and experimental group 2. Result: There was no significant increase in self efficacy scores in experimental group lover the control group, but there was a significant increase in sexual assertiveness scores in the experimental group lover the control group. There was an increase in self efficacy scores in experimental group 2 over the control group, but it was not significant. There was a significant increase in sexual assertiveness scores in experimental group 2 over the control group. There was no significant increase in self efficacy scores in the experimental group 2 over the experimental group 1, and there was no significant increase in sexual assertiveness scores in experimental group 2 over the experimental group I. Conclusion: The results show that a 3 hour program was as effective as a 6 hour program for sexual assertiveness. Therefore, it is advisable to use a hour program for clinical convenience. But further study is needed to determine the lasting effect on sexual assertiveness.
The purpose of this study was to develop an Integrative Group Counseling Program to reduce depression, suicide ideation, and stress of high school students, and to examine the effectiveness of such a program. In order to evaluate the effectiveness of the program developed, an experimental group which was exposed to the program and a control group without exposure to the program were compared. The program was administered over eight weekly sessions, each session lasting ninety minutes. The subjects in this study consisted of twenty students. An experimental group and a control group were organized with ten students in each. For data processing, SPSS 16.0 was used to analyse statistical results. The Center for Epidemiological Studies-Depression Scale, the Suicidal Ideation Scale, and the Stress Scale were used in a pre-test, post-test, and follow-up test. The findings of this study were as follows : The treatment group exhibited a significant statistically decreasing degree of depression, suicide ideation, and stress levels in comparison to the control group. The results of the study indicated the effectiveness of this newly developed Integrative Group Counseling Program on reducing depression, suicide ideation, and stress levels.
This study was conducted to identify the effect on the weight control of the REBT group program as a nursing intervention. For this purpose, non-equivalent control group design with pretest and posttest and follow-up test as quasi-experiment was used. Subjects of the study were consisted of twenty-four obese girls (Experimental group: 10, control group: 14) who appeared to having above 20% of the body mass index from ane high school in M city. The whole program was carried out from January to June, 2000. Used dependent variables for evaluating the effect of the REBT group program including were weight control belief(rational thinking, emotion about exercise, eating self-efficacy, eating behavior), body mass index and serum lipids(total cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density lipoprotein, high-density lipoprotein). For evaluating the effect of the program, dependent variables was analyzed by experimental stages three times; the first week, the fourth week, and the eighth week since the experimental input began. Data were analyzed by the SAS PC+ program with t-test, repeated measure ANOVA to determine the effect of program. The results of this study can be summarized as follows; 1. After the REBT group program, only eating self-efficacy among the weight control belief of experimental group was significantly increased than that of control group. 2. After the REBT group program, body mass index of experiment group was significantly decreased than that of control group. 3. After the REBT group program, triglyceride and low density lipoprotein among the serum lipids in the experiment group were significantly decreased than those of control group.
This study is intended to suggest fundamental data necessary for developing MBTI program that can help improve interpersonal relation skills of nursing science major students and their cohesion. This study is pre-experimental research by one group pretest-post test design to examine the effect of MBTI(Myers and Briggs Type Indicator) basic program on the interpersonal relationship between nursing science major students and their group cohesion and the relationship between interpersonal relationship and their group cohesion. I selected 39 of sophomore students in the department nursing science of K university in I metropolitan city as test group. 35 of them joined post-test. Pretest and MBTI basic program were done before conducting MBTI program. Collected data were analyzed by SPSS window 7.5. The difference in test group before and after conducting program was examined by paired t-test. The correlation between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion was measured by using Pearson Correlation Coefficient. The findings are as follows. $\cdot$ The difference before and after conducting MBTI program by sub-factors of interpersonal relation: There was no significant difference, as the average figure of interpersonal relation in test group was 87.22 before conducting MBTI and 85.08 after conducting MBTI respectively. The average figure of sensitivity among the sub-factors of interpersonal relation was 7.71 before conducting MBTI and reduced to 7.08 after conducting MBTI and there was significant difference between before and after conducting MBTI(t=-2.484, p=.018) $\cdot$ The difference in group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI program: The average figure of group cohesion in test group was 56.68 before conducting MBTI and increased a bit to 56.80 after conducting MBTI\, but there was no significant difference between them. $\cdot$ The relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI: As the relationship between interpersonal relationship and group cohesion before and after conducting MBTI is examined, there was positive correlation of the significance level. p<.05 before conducting MBTI(r=.320, p=.047), and of the significance level, p<.01 after conducting MBTI(r=.780, p=.000). The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation before conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, reliability, friendliness and satisfaction, and group intervention, between receptivity among group members and reliability, and between group atmosphere and satisfaction. The investigation on the relation between sub-factors of group cohesion and of interpersonal relation after conducting MBTI basic program revealed that there was positive correlation between openness, communication, understanding, friendliness and satisfaction. and group intervention. Based on the above findings, I realize that MBTI basic program is essential to the improvement of group cohesion. In addition, it is shown that the sub-factors of interpersonal relation such as openness, communication, friendliness, satisfaction, and understanding, and the sub-factors such as group intervention and receptivity among group members are major factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion. So, the future MBTI program should include sub-programs that deal with the above factors to improve interpersonal relationship and group cohesion.
The purpose of this research was to measure the effect of a gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on occupational stress and anxiety in working women aged 30 to 49 in Korea. Scientific methods were employed to test a gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program as treatment for working women in 30-40s to reduce their level of occupational stress and anxiety. The study involved 18 volunteer subjects ages of 30 to 49 years, randomly divided into two groups: (1) gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program, and (2) no program. Both groups completed a pre-test and a post-test of occupational stress scale and trait anxiety inventory. The outcome data was analyzed as qual1litative information using the SPSSPC+ computer program. Mann-Whitney U test was used to analyze the result in order to verify the sameness between experienced group and controlled group of pre-test scores within the groups. Also U-test comparisons were used to analyze the treatment effects. The results of this investigation indicated that (1) occupational stress scores decrease after gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on the treatment group, and (2) trait-anxiety scores decrease after gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program on the treatment group. In summary, the gestalt group meditation therapy intervention program for career women, aged 30 to 49, in Korea could reduce the subjects' occupational stress and anxiety.
The purpose of this study is to find a concrete plan by examining effect of environmental education program on Environment-friendly Attitudes in sixth grade elementary school and to testify the educational values of environmental education program. The study was carried out by 32 students, which was experimental group and by 32 students, control group, in the sixth grade of Y elementary school located in yangjung, Busan city. Both group was found out the same quality group through the pre-test. Environmental class using environmental education program was applied to experimental group and traditional lecture class was applied to control group. After executing post-test to each group, comparative analysis was conducted by t-test using a SPSS 12.0 program. The result of post-test showed that experimental group taken environmental class using environmental education program was more statistically meaningful than control group taken traditional lecture class in the cognitive, emotional, behavioral area. As a result, in sixth grade elementary school environmental class using a environmental education program was more effective in knowledge-acquirement about the overall environ mental programs, and in fostering Environment-friendly Attitudes and behaviors than traditional lecture class. The teacher must develop efficient environment education program in such side.
