MATLAB 프로그램을 이용한 배전계통에 사용되는 동봉 접지전극의 과도 접지임피던스 특성 분석 (Transient Grounding Impedance Characteristic Analysis of a Copper Rod-type Grounding Electrode Used for Electric Distribution Systems Using MATLAB Program)

  • 비록 접지저항은 접지전극의 접지성능을 좌우하는 지수이기는 하지만, 과도상태에서는 접지 성능을 반영하지 못한다. 동봉은 배전계통에서 가장 많이 쓰이는 접지전극이다. 본 논문에서는 동봉의 접지 임피던스를 주파수 60[Hz]에서 100[kHz] 범위까지 측정하여 등가 접지임피던스 모델을 구하였다. 뇌격서지가 유입되었을 때 MATLAB 프로그램으로 과도접지임피던스의 수치와 파형을 시뮬레이션하였다.

  • This paper presents the characteristics of transient and effective impulse impedances for deeply driven grounding electrodes used in soil with high resistivity or in downtown areas. The laboratory test associated with the time domain performance of grounding piles subjected to a lightning stroke current has been carried out using an actual-sized model grounding system. The ground impedances of the deeply driven ground rods and grounding pile under impulse currents showed inductive characteristics, and the effective impulse ground impedance owing to the inductive component is higher than the power frequency ground impedance. Both power frequency ground impedance and effective impulse ground impedance decrease upon increasing the length of the model grounding electrodes. Furthermore, the effective impulse ground impedances of the deeply driven grounding electrodes are significantly amplified in impulse currents with a rapid rise time. The reduction of the power frequency ground impedance is decisive to improve the impulse impedance characteristics of grounding systems.

  • When the transient current with high frequency components such as lightning surges are injected the grounding electrodes, the performance of grounding electrodes should be evaluated as grounding impedance. It is restricted to analyze the grounding impedance by measurement approach since the grounding impedance is very different with the shape and size of grounding electrodes, resistivity and relative permittivity of soil and the frequency component of the injected current. So a variety of simulation approaches have been developed. Typically, the soil resistivity measured with low frequency and relative permittivity between 1 and 80 are used for simulation of the grounding impedance. However, the resistivity and relative permittivity of soil are changed with frequency of injected current. In this paper, the frequency-dependent resistivity and relative permittivity of soil are measured and these parameters are reflected in the simulation of the grounding impedance of a ground rod. The simulated results are compared with the measured results. As a result, the simulated results with frequency-dependent soil parameters show capacitive aspect like measured results in the frequency of lower than 100[kHz] and they are more consistent with the measured results in wide frequency range.

  • 본 논문은 임펄스전류의 인가위치에 따른 심매설 봉상 접지전극의 과도접지임피던스와 규약접지임피던스 특성에 관하여 기술하였다. 과도접지임피던스는 심매설 접지전극의 길이 및 임펄스전류의 상승시간과 인가위치에 강하게 의존하며, 접지전극의 자체 인덕턴스는 짧은 시간 영역에서 점지시스템의 과도접지임피던스에 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 심매설 봉상 접지전극의 자체 인덕턴스의 저감은 과도접지임피던스 특성의 개선에 결정적인 역할을 한다. 접지도선의 길이는 최대한 짧게 하여 접지전극의 상단에 접속하는 것이 효과적이다.

  • 본 논문은 임펄스전류가 인가된 매설지선의 과도접지임피던스특성에 관한 것으로 길이가 10, 30, 50 [m]인 3개의 매설지선에 대하여 입 펄스전류의 인가점을 파라미터로 하여 과도접지임피던스와 규약접지임피던스를 측정하고 분석하였다. 임펄스전류의 상승시간에 대한 규약접지임피던스는 과도접지임피던스와 비슷한 경향이었다. 과도접지임피던스는 임 펄스전류의 인가위치에 영향을 크게 밭으며, 짧은 시간영역에서 과도접지임피던스는 매설지선의 길이에 매우 의존적이다. 임펄스전류가 인가된 10[m]의 매설지선은 용량성 특성이었으나 30[m]와 50[m]의 매설지선은 유도성 특성을 나타내었다. 접지도선은 매설지선의 중앙점에 접속하는 것이 바람직한 것으로 밝혀졌다.

  • This paper presents the characteristics and effects of grounding resistor and impedance. In grounding system, Grounding resistor is governed neutral currents and voltage. It seems that, grounding resistor has 0 value, then circuit has no faults. While if grounding resistor has large value, then neutral current has large value of fault current and it is made a damage to the utility. In order to analyze the grounding impedance characteristic, EMTP simulation has been used. The grounding impedance characteristic has been analyzed and tested for various grounding arrangements and electrode circuit shapes.

  • For the surge currents like lightning or ground fault currents containing high frequency components which cause the electromagnetic interferences for the electronic devices and communication equipment, the grounding impedances give the significantly composite characteristics which are dependent on the frequency of surge currents. In this paper, the analytical model and method for determining the optimal length of the newly developed coaxial type carbon ground electrode which has a little fluctuation in grounding impedance with frequency. The length of minimizing the fluctuation of grounding impedance by changing frequency from 100[Hz] to 1[MHz] was determined, and the validity of this proposed method was confirmed by comparing with the simulated and measured data.

  • A ground electrode subjected to lightning surge current shows the transient impedance behaviors. The ground electrode for protection against lightning should be evaluated in view of the transient grounding impedance and conventional grounding impedance, not ground resistance. The transient impedance characteristics of ground electrodes are influenced by the shape of ground electrode and the soil characteristics, as well as the waveform of lightning surge current. In order to propose a simulation method of analyzing the transient impedance characteristics of the grounding system in practical use, this paper suggests a theoretical analysis method of distributed parameter circuit model to simulate the transient impedance characteristics of counterpoise subjected to lightning surge current. EMTP and Matlab programs were employed to compute the transient grounding impedances of three counterpoises with different lengths. As a consequence, the simulated results using the proposed distributed parameter circuit model are in good agreement with the measured results.

High Frequency Grounding Impedances of Vertically-Driven Ground Rods

  • Grounding impedance depends on the frequency of current flowing into a grounding system lightning in particular has a broad frequency spectrum from some tens of Hz to a few MHz. So the grounding impedance related to transient currents such as lightning should be measured. In this paper, the grounding impedances of vertically-driven ground rods of 10, 30 and 48[m] long are measured and analyzed as functions of the frequency of injected current and the feeding point. As a result, the longer the ground rod is, the lower the steady-state ground resistance is. However the grounding impedance of a vertically-driven ground rod at a high frequency is significantly increased. It is not always true that low grounding impedance follows from a low steady-state ground resistance. It is important to evaluate the high frequency performance of grounding systems for protection against lightning.

  • This paper describes the design and fabrication of high frequency ground impedance measuring system for assessment of grounding system for Lightning protection. The ground impedance measuring system has been designed and fabricated which makes it possible to assess the ground impedance by frequency ranges from 100 Hz to 1 MHz. The effective grounding systems having a very low impedance to electromagnetic disturbance such as lightning surges and noises in microelectronics and high-technology branches are strongly required. In order to analyze the dynamic characteristic of grounding system impedances in lightning and surge protection grounding systems, it is highly desirable to assess the ground impedances as a measure of performance of grounding system in which lightning and switching surge currents with fast rise time and high frequency flow. The measuring system is based on the variable frequency power supply and consists of signal circuit part, main control part, data acquisition and processing unit, and voltage and current probe system. The ground impedance measuring system can be used to assess grounding system during occurrence of lightning.
