This paper reports a flexible patch rectenna for wireless actuation of cellulose electro-active paper actuator (EAPap). The patch rectenna consists of rectifying circuit layer and ground layer, which converts microwave to dc power so as to wirelessly supply the power to the actuator. Patch rectennas are designed with different slot length at the ground layer. The fabricated devices are characterized depending on different substrates and polarization angles. The EAPap integrated with the patch rectenna is actuated by the microwave power. Detailed fabrication, characterization and demonstration of the integrated rectenna-EAPap actuator are explained.

Ground impedance for the large grounding system is measured according to the IEEE Standard 81.2 which is based on the revised fall-of-potential method of installing auxiliary electrode at a right angle. When the auxiliary electrodes are located at an angle of $90^{\circ}$, the ground impedance inevitably includes the error due to earth mutual resistance. In this paper, in order to accurately measure the ground impedance of vertically-driven ground electrodes, error rates due to earth mutual resistance are evaluated by ground resistance and ground impedance measuring devices and compared with calculated values. As a result, the measured results are in good agreement with the computed results considering soil layer with different resistivity. The error rates due to earth mutual resistance decrease with increasing the length of ground electrode in the case that the ratio of the distance between the ground rod to be measured and the auxiliary electrodes to the length of ground electrode(D/L) is same. The ground impedance should be measured at the minimum distance between the auxiliary electrodes that will have an estimated measurement accuracy due to earth mutual resistance.

This study aims at the development of computer program for the deformation analysis of soft ground, and using this computer program, study the constraint effect of deformation heaving, lateral displacement of the soft ground reinforced with improvement of soft ground up to hard strata, under intact state(natural). The following results are obtained. 1. Improvement of soft ground to the hard strata works well against the settlement of neighboring ground. 2. the larger the rigidity or width of improvement of layer to hard strata is, the less settlement occurs. 3. Improvement of soft ground to the hard strata is of no use.

This paper describes ground surface potential rises and touch voltage. The more soil resistivity of upper layer is lower, the more ground surface potential rise is increased. Ground surface potential rise is increased as the buried depth of ground rod in lowered. Ground surface potential rises were measured in the test site and compared with results by CDEGS program. Touch voltages according to the separation distance of ground rod were measured in four directions. Touch voltages were remarkably changed by separation distance and contact position.

Driven pile has the excellent bearing characteristics and good economics, so it is known as the comparative piling method. To use the advantages of driven pile fully, it is necessary to perform the proper construction management. Engineers must drive pile to the proper bearing layer with proper blow energy and measure the blow count and penetration per certain depth to analyze the bearing capacity and driveability. In conventional method, these parameters have been measured manually so it was difficult to get good accuracy. After PIR-D(Pile Installation Recorder-Driven Pile) was attached to the driving equipment, the hammer efficiency, blow count and penetration in blow/10cm were measured automatically. In this paper, to givethe rational judgement criteria of bearing layer, driveability, blow/10cm according to pile depth during pile driving, the some relationship between the driving resistance and ground layer distribution was analyzed. The ground investigation during piles (PHC ${\Phi}450,\;{\Phi}400\;&\;Steel\;Pile\;{\Phi}609{\ast}16t$) installation in the marine clay layer in Incheon, the sandy soil layer in Yongin and the tuff layer in Pusan was done. And measuring hammer efficiency not doing recently, we could compare hammer efficiency(Eh) by PIR-D and energy transfer ratio(ETR) by Pile Dynamic Analyzer(PDA).

In this study, ground calcium carbonate (GCC) was modified by Layer-by-Layer (LbL) multilayering with polyelectrolytes. Cationic polyacrylamide (C-PAM) and poly sodium 4-styrene sulfonate (PSS) were used as cationic and anionic polyelectrolytes to modify GCC. The characteristics of the modified GCC were examined in terms of zeta potential and particle size with the addition level of polyelectrolyte and layer number. The GCC could form an assembly of cationic and anionic polyelectrolytes through consecutive adsorption process. The zeta potential of the modified GCC moved toward the cationicity and reached the plateau with the increase of the addition level of C-PAM. With layering of anionic PSS, the GCC had the negative charge. The particle size was dependent on the zeta potential. It was also observed by optical microscope. As the PSS was in the presence of the outermost layer, the GCC showed the better dispersability. It indicated that the surface charge and particle size can be controlled by adjusting the addition level of polyelectrolyte and the layer number.
Clinker layer is a stratum structure distributed in volcanic area such as Jeju Island. The clinker layers were formed in between the repetitive action of eruption and solidification of lava flows. Since the clinker layer contains a large amount of voids accompanied by the lava gas ejection process, there is a possibility of inducing overall stability of the ground due to the low stiffness and strength of the clinker layer. Therefore, in this study, site investigation was carried out at both ends of the 00 bridge where the clinker layers exist. And, based on the ground survey results, the behavior of shallow foundations was analyzed numerically. In addition, the improved shallow foundation behavior in grouting substitution using the chemical injection method of the clinker layer was compared with the shallow foundation behavior in the ground, and the grouting substitution efficiency of each layer was analyzed. As a result, the bearing capacity, the replacement efficiency and elastic settlement were different according to the presence or absence of the sediment layer. This is because the sediment layer has a lower stiffness and density than the clinker layer.

We fabricated rapid single-flux-quantum RS flip-flop circuits with and without Y$_1$Ba$_2$Cu$_3$O$_{7-{\delta}}$(YBCO) ground plane. The circuit consists of SNS-type ramp-edge Josephson junctions that have cobalt-doped YBCO and Sr$_2$AITaO$_6$(SAT) for barrier layer and insulator layer, respectively. The fabricated Josephson junction showed a typical RSJ-like current-voltage(I-V) characteristics above 50K. We sucessfuly demonstrated RS flip-flop at temperatures around 50K. The RS flip-flop fabricated on ground plane showed more definite set and reset state in voltage-flux(V-${\phi}$) modulation curve for read SQUID, which may be attributed to a shielding effect of the YBCO ground plane.

To investigate the fishery and fishing ground environment of red horsehead (Branchiostegus japonicus), the author analyzed the fishery data and examined the amount of catches and oceanic environment on the adjacent seas of Jeju island and East China Sea. It was turned out that the favourable season of the red horsehead fishery is the month from March to June, the main fishing ground is located in 60 mile radius from the position $32.5^{\circ}N,\;125.7^{\circ}E$. The bottom seawater temperature in fishing ground was shown between $l3^{\circ}C\;and\;16^{\circ}C$, the salinity was appeared between 33.5 and 34.0psu without the seasonal variation of the year. Concentrations of materials(e.g, $NO_3^-\;and\;NO_2^-$) in spring and summer time in main fishing ground were higher than any other seasons, but that of phospheric materials were lower than any other seasons. Concentrations of $chlorophyll\;-\;{\alpha}$ in the main fishing ground was the highest in spring and summer at the surface layer, but the vertical profile of the $chlorophyll\;-\;{\alpha}$ concentrations in all seasons were not variable at bottom layer. Mean density of zooplankton abundance according to the vertical structure was higher and much stable in summer and autumn than spring and winter.
To investigate the causes of ground deformation around the Dogye coal waste depot in Samcheok city, Gangwon Province, we undertook a field survey and performed boring tests and a topographic analysis using maps compiled in various years. The results of boring tests and analyses of ground fractures indicate that the thickness of the soil layer ranges from 9 to 28.5 m and that ground deformation has occurred to the $240{\sim}250^{\circ}$ direction. The topographic analysis revealed that the topography of the site has changed continuously due to the dumping of coal waste. The causes of ground deformation, investigated by both field surveys and the topographic analysis, were the thick layer of soil at this site, the loading weight of coal waste, and the excavation at the lower part of the slope.
