CGS(Compaction Grouting System) is widely used in reinforcement of structural foundation and ground improvement in soft ground. But the effects of ground improvement depending on the type of soil must be studied in order to adopt in various soils (granular soil and cohesive soil). In this study, characteristics of ground improvement (the increase of N value, increase in unit weight, vertical displacement on the ground surface) by CGS method was compared through two cases that were performed in granular and cohesive soil. The results show that the closer to the grout hole, the more increase in N value and this trend appear distinctly in granular soil. Unit weight of ground increase largely near by the grout hole and decrease in far from it independently of the soil type. The vertical displacement on the ground surface appeared in smaller area in case of granular soil than cohesive soil.
In Korea, grouting has been mostly designed and constructed by experiences without expert knowledge and theoretical study. So there are a lot of problems related to the quality and safty of grouting. Therefor, in this paper the quality management skills and method were discussed through out by using the auto-grouting method and field test of grouting for the construction. Through the limit water injection test of the soil, it make the optimum injection pressure and injection speed of grouting, and through the lugeon test of the rock, it make assess the permeability of before and after grouting. In order to prevent the hydraulic fracture of soil and break away from the grouts if it apply four kinds of mode of grouting stop criteria, injection effects can be improved. From the above characteristcs designers evalute the fitness values of injection pressure(p), injection speed(q) and grouting penetration time(t). So far, to record and manage pressure(p) and speed(q) of grouting autographic devices such as intergation flow-meter usually record data in a roll of paper. Intergration flow-meter can record grouting flow quantity exactly, but the recorded pressures differ from the any basis such as intitial, intermediate and final point. Therefore, it has been argued that is a need of reliable method to describe the connection between the pressure recorded by an intergration flow-meter and the special properties of the grouting target ground. auto-grouting method can describe the reliable connection between the grouting pressure and the special properties of the grouting target ground. So, in this paper by using auto-grouting method, it is expected that to secure basis of quality control techniques construction.
Underground structures, such as compacted sand piles applied as soft ground countermeasures, are analyzed for settlement and stability by the composite ground design method. The basic principle of the composite ground design method is the arching effect. The reinforcing effect of the pile is evaluated as the stress-distribution ratio. When applying grouting piles with elastic properties using the ground reinforcement method, the existing stress-distribution ratio was only considered when the pile was installed. This study shows that the method of applying the stress-distribution ratio applied in previous studies should be changed when the ground reinforcement pile is installed at an arbitrary location in the ground without raising it to the ground surface. When high strength jet routing is applied, the stress-distribution ratio (n) to the in-situ ground generally ranges from 30 to 50. However, if the pile is located far from the surface and the depth goes down to the boundary depth of the stress sphere, the stress-distribution effect rapidly decreases, and the stress-distribution ratio converges to 1.5.

In this study, anisotopic yield function is proposed for the numerical analysis of reinforced tunnel ground with grouting. For this, material properties of the reinforced ground both by equilibrium as well as kinematic condition along the interface and by the mean field theory of Eshelby (1957) and Zhao (1990) are compared with each other and, as a result, the advantage/disadvantage of the proposed models are summarized. Finally, reinforced ground around tunnel with grouting is analyzed numerically. A new anisotropic yield function model is shown to be more reliable than the previous one and the predicted result is agreeable with the experimental data available.

This paper concerns the measurement of thermal conductivity of grouting materials for ground loop heat exchanger. A thermal conductivity meter, QTM-500 based on modified transient hot wire method was used to measure the thermal conductivity of neat bentonite and mixtures of bentonite and various additives. Relative to the total mixture mass, as the percent additive was increased the mixture thermal conductivity increased. For the bentonite-silica sand mixtures, the higher density of the sand particles resulted in much higher mixture thermal conductivity. The quartzite and silica sands produced the largest increases in mixture thermal conductivity, while common masonry and limestone sands produced lower thermal conductivity increases.
This Paper present design parameters of grouting by reviewing several published equations and the results of coupled analysis considering the difference of permeability between soil and grouted zone. Also, the feasibility of couped analysis in the design of grouting is studied for seeping water quantity into tunnel, displacement of tunnel face, drawing down of groud water table, settlement of ground and stress of tunnel supports.

Low-flow mortar injection method grouting technology was selected and the traffic area was preserved as much as possible in order to secure safety for road traffic when the outflow and subsidence of landfill occurred due to ground-water, and etc. In particular, the current existing method was newly improved since there are risks of damage such as hydraulic fracturing at the lower part of the road, spilling of soil particles on steep slopes, and bumps on the road due to excessive injection pressure during construction. This study was carried out at the site of reinforcement work on the road as a maintenance work for the danger zone for collapse of the steep slope of the 00 hill, which was ordered from the 00 city 00 province. The improved low-flow mortar type grouting method adopted a new automated grouting management system and especially, it composites the method for grouting conditions decision by high-pressure pre-grouting test and injection technology by AGS-controlled and studied about grouting effect analysis by using new technology. By applying the improved low-flow mortar type grouting method, it was possible to lay the groundwork for road maintenance work such as the prevention of subsidence of old roads, uneven subsidence of buildings and civil engineering structures, and of soil leakage of ground-water spills. Furthermore, the possibility of application on future grouting work not only for just construction that prevents subsidence of old roads but also for various buildings and civil engineering structures such as railroads, subways, bridges, underground structures, and boulder stone and limestone areas was confirmed.

Physical, mechanical, hydraulic, and geophysical tests were applied to validate methods of inspecting the effectiveness of grouting on an agricultural reservoir dam. Data obtained from series of in situ and laboratory tests considered four stages: before grouting; during grouting; immediately after grouting; and after aging the grouting for 28 days. The results of SPT and triaxial tests, including the unit weight, compressive strength, friction angle, cohesion, and N-value, indicated the extent of ground improvement with respect to grout injection. However, they sometimes contained errors caused by ground heterogeneity. Hydraulic conductivity obtained from in situ variable head permeability testing is most suitable for identifying the effectiveness of grouting because the impermeability of the ground increased immediately after grouting. Electric resistivity surveying is useful for finding a saturated zone and a seepage pathway, and multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) is suitable for analyzing the effectiveness of grouting, as elastic velocity increases distinctly after grouting injection. MASW also allows calculation from the P- and S- wave velocities of dynamic properties (e.g., dynamic elastic modulus and dynamic Poisson's ratio), which can be used in the seismic design of dam structures.
This study focuses on an improved prediction model to determine the limiting grouting pressure of compaction grouting considering the ground surface upheaval, which is caused by the three-dimensional conical shearing failure. The 2D-dimensional failure curve in Zou and Xia (2016) was improved to a three-dimensional conical shearing failure for compaction grouting through coordinate rotation. The process of compaction grouting was considered as the cavity expansion in infinite Mohr-Coulomb (M-C) soil mass. The prediction model of limiting grouting pressure of compaction grouting was proposed with limit equilibrium principle, which was validated by comparing the results in El-Kelesh et al. (2001) and numerical method. Furthermore, using the proposed prediction model, the vertical and horizontal grouting tube techniques were adopted to deal with the subgrade settlement in Shao-huai highway at Hunan Provence of China. The engineering applicability and effectiveness of the proposed model were verified by the field test. The research on the prediction model for the limiting grouting pressure of compaction grouting provides practical example to the rapid treatment technology of subgrade settlement.

In the high water pressure construction conditions, it is important that the failures and damages occurrence in the neighboring ground and impermeable prevention methods (design and construction) for a inflow of seawater into structures. Grouting construction markets include a subway construction, a railway construction, a mountain tunnel construction, a new & reinforced construction of river & reservoir levee with big budget per every years. but, there are economic loss about design and construction management parts because that management criteria is not accurate but depends on experiences. Even though grouting technology are using vitally in the major constructions of national levels, it is still serious about the low-reliability problems and the no-criteria problems. therefor the purpose of this study is that provides the fundamental research about the neo-grouting technology for the decreasing of ground disaster in a high water pressure conditions.
