전투 무선망에서 다중 홉 전송을 위한 향상된 DAP-NAD 기법 (An Enhanced DAP-NAD Scheme for Multi-Hop Transmission in Combat Net Radio Networks)

  • 최근 많은 국가들이 NCW (Network Centric Warfare)를 구현하는데 기반이 되는 전술 애드 혹 네트워크의 성능을 향상시키기 위한 통신 프로토콜 개발을 활발히 진행하고 있다. 전투 무선망 (CNR, Combat Net Radio)은 육군의 보병과 같은 지상군에 있어 가장 중요한 통신 기반망이다. 미군은 전투 무선망에서 음성 및 데이터 통신을 위해 MIL-STD-188-220D을 개발하여 운용 중에 있다. 한국군의 차기 무전기인 전술 다대역, 다기능 무전기(TMMR)의 MAC 프로토콜의 후보인 MIL-STD-188-220D은 여러 제한사항이 존재한다. MIL-STD-188-220D에 정의된 DAP-NAD는 충돌회피를 위해 시간 동기를 필요로 하지만, 1홉을 벗어난 다중 홉의 환경에서는 시간 동기를 맞추기 어렵다. 다중 홉 환경에서 충돌을 방지하여 지연을 방지하는 향상된 DAP-NAD를 제안하였으며, 모의실험을 통하여 다중 홉 전투 무선망 환경에서 제안기법의 성능이 향상되는 것을 보였다.

Optimal Time-sequential Fire Support Strategies

  • The optimal time-sequential distribution of supporting fire against enemy ground units in combat against attacking friendly units is studied. Lanchester type models of warfare are combined with optimal control theory in this investigation. The optimal time-sequential fire-support policy is characterized for a specific problem. Although complete details for the determination of the optimal policy are not given, it is conjectured, on the basis of the theorems which were proved, that for this problem the optimal policy is to always concentrate all supporting fire on the same enemy unit until supporting fire must be lifted.

  • This is a review article which looks into details what the actual scenario of the problem of breast cancer in our country is. As the problem is on the rise, what is the level of the preparedness at our end to tackle the problem. The articles reviews the epidemiology of breast, high risk factors, detection, diagnosis and treatment facilities also along with that screening facilities and their ground reality, awareness of the women from different walks regarding various issues of breast cancer and what intervention can be made to combat the disease.

  • In this research, in order to optimize the multi-objective function effectively, we suggested the optimization model to maximize the total destruction of ground targets and minimize the total damage of aircrafts and cost of air munitions by using goal programming. To satisfy the various variables and constraints of this mathematical model, the concept of air strike package is applied. As a consequence, effective attack can be possible by identifying the prior ground targets more quickly. This study can contribute to maximize the ROK air force's combat power and preservation of high value air asset in the war.

이중충격파형 충격시험장비를 이용한 충격시험 결과 및 분석 (The Shock-Test Result and Analysis Using Dual-Pulse Shock Testing Machine)

  • The important issue of equipment installed in maritime weapon system is shock survivability against underwater explosion(UNDEX). If the shock survivability of equipment should not be guaranteed, the successful mission also could not be achieved. For that reason, the shock-resistance of each equipment under UNDEX environment should be demonstrated before deployment at combat field. However, the actual UNDEX test on the ocean is too expensive to conduct. Also, it has diverse dangerous factors. The main characteristic of UNDEX is a dual-pulse shock. The vertical shock test machine able to simulate dual pulse shock signal on the ground will be introduced in this paper. The dual-pulse shock signal presented in certain shock standard was achieved with this shock-test machine on the ground. The analytical procedure to set a test condition was verified by comparing simulation result with experiment result.

  • Decision making is a function of many variables, but among these, human burden (soft-ware) and machine burden (hard-ware) are critical. Decision Maker is rather concerned with the soft-ware and just wants to have machine calculate the quantitative arithmetic involved in the decision-making study, because he is responsible for that decision whether or not he knows details about the techniques used by his staffs. From the point of these considerations, computer-assisted war game model has its significance in military decision making. The major outcome of this model is time-phased FEBA movement. FEBA is moved mainly by the ratio of the Index of Combat Effectiveness (ICE). To calculate ICE, Ground Forces are concerning the Index of Firepower (IFP) of individual weapons and in the case of Air Force, sorties are allocated into each sector, and added to the Ground Force IFP. With the ratio of total ICE, FEBA is moved according to the War Game Tables and process is repeated after consideration of casualties. This model is used by IBM-370/135 in MND computer room and also tested by IBM-3741/3717 established at ROKA HQ.

  • Vulnerability assesses the loss of major performance functions of GCV (Ground Combat Vehicles) when it is hit by enemy's shell. To decide the loss of major functions, it is determined what effects are on the performance of GCV when some components of GCV are failed. M&S (Modeling and Simulation) technology is used to vulnerability assessment. The hydro-pneumatic suspension is used as a sample part. The procedures of vulnerability assessment of the hydro-pneumatic suspension are shown as follows: 1) The components of the suspension are defined, and shot lines are generated evenly around the part. 2) The penetrated components are checked by using the penetration equation. 3) The function model of the suspension is designed by using IDEF0. 4) When the failure of the critical components of the suspension happens, its effect on the function of the suspension can be estimated using DMEA (Damage Mode and Effects Analysis). 5) The diagram of FTA (Fault Tree Analysis) is designed by exploiting DMEA. 6) The damage probability of the suspension is calculated by using FTA and vulnerable area method. In this paper, SLAP (Shot Line Analysis Program) which was developed based on COVART methodology. SLAP calculates the damage probability and visualizes the vulnerable areas of the suspension.

  • 영국은 테러와의 전쟁 시기 출산율 저하로 병역 가능자원이 감소하고 모병율이 저하되었으나, IS와 러시아로부터 발생하는 복합적인 안보위협이 점차 가중되는 상황에 직면하였다. 영국군은 이와 같은 도전을 극복하기 위한 방책의 하나로 기존의 사회적 보수성을 타파하고 여성인력을 근접전투 직위에 보직하는 정책을 추진하였다. 이를 위해, 영국군은 여군 활용 사례 발굴, 종단연구, 전투실험 등을 통해 군내 공감대를 형성하였고, 이후 사회적 공감대를 형성하기 위해 국민 의견을 수렴하기 위해 전략적 소통을 진행하였다. 이와 더불어, 근접전투를 수행하는 전투원이라면 누구나 통과해야 할 전투체력 평가체계를 구축하여 정책의 신뢰성을 증진시켰다. 우리나라도 미중 패권경쟁이 가속화되는 가운데 인구절벽으로 인한 병역 가능자원의 감소로 안보위협이 가중되고 있다. 따라서 영국군 사례는 우리에게 적지 않은 시사점과 향후 여성인력 정책 수립에 필요한 방향성을 제공할 것으로 보인다.

우크라이나군의 FPV드론 전투 사례 연구 (A Case Study on FPV Drone Combats of the Ukrainian Forces)

  • 우크라니아-러시아 전쟁은 최첨단 무기의 시험장으로 최초의 본격적인 드론전(Drone Warfare)을 수행하고 있다. 우크라이나군은 전장에서 다양한 정찰 및 공격드론을 공세적으로 운용하고 있으며, 최근에는 일명 레이싱드론으로 불리는 FPV드론에 폭탄을 장착하여 소부대 전투의 게임체인저로 운용하고 있다. 이와 같은 FPV드론은 비접촉 상황 하에서 정밀타격이 가능하여 전투원의 생존성과 소부대의 치명성을 강화하고 있다. 본 고에서는 이런 FPV드론의 이해를 돕기 위해 정의, 기체 부품, 주요 특성 등을 고찰하고, 우크라이나군의 FPV 전투 사례를 통한 시사점을 도출하였다. 향후, 인공지능과 군집기술을 접목한다면 FPV드론의 치명성은 고도화될 것이다. 이에 따라, 미래 한반도 작전환경에 걸맞는 FPV드론의 개발 필요성은 증대되고 있고, 이를 위한 싸우는 방법 구체화와 관련 기술의 최적화를 위한 후속연구가 필요하다.

신재생에너지를 이용한 사막화 방지 시스템 실증 (몽골) (Demonstration of system to combat desertification using renewable energy)

  • Generally, wind or solar power system is operated as a stand-alone power system, the efficiency of which could be higher by designing wind-solar combined system considering average wind speed and solar radiation of the desert region, Mongolia. This system is designed to generate electricity for power users and pumps the ground water for irrigation using deep well pump. The ground water can be used for farming or forestation where there is no or little irrigation system. In connection with this study, a renewable energy park, Green Eco Energy Park, was developed at about 50km east of Ulaanbaatar. 3 sets of 10kW wind power generator and 70 kW of solar power module were installed there. The electricity generated from the system is used to on-site office building and deep well pump for ground water pumping. A 10kW stand-alone solar pumping system, which has no rechargeable battery system, is installed to pump the ground water with the amount of generated power. The ground water is stored in 3 artificial ponds and then it is used for raising nursery tree and farming. The purpose of this study is to provide a possible energy solution to desert regions where there is no or little power system. The system also supply power to ground water pump, and the water can be used for farming and forestation, which will also be a solution of preventing desertification or spreading of desert area.
