Steward Observatory has a rich and diverse program of investigations, with significant groups working on star and planet formation and astrobiology, galaxy and quasar formation and evolution, technology for adaptive optics and interferometry, computational astrophysics, and effectiveness of educational practice. To support this work, Steward operates and offers a range of observational and other facilities, including the Large Binocular Telescope, the MMT, the Magellan Telescopes, the Arizona Radio Observatory, and a suite of 1- and 2-m class telescopes. A special opportunity for IR astronomy exists with Arizona now running UKIRT. Steward Observatory astronomers would welcome the opportunity to form genuine scientific collaborations that are mutually beneficial for high-impact projects and improving the observing facilities.

In this paper, we describe the crossover of the parasitic capacitance at the interconnections for the system miniature, analyse ground capacitance and mutual capacitance due to actually coupled line in the ICs or MCMs. From the results of deviding interconnection line with infinite parts, using Green's function with image charge method and moments, we could obtain 70% decrease of system runtime parasitic inductance because of simplicity of transforming formular.

In this paper, we review the effects of RF interference of medical equipment or other electric equipment which can emit radio frequency in the general hospitals environments which are in many cases being under the influence of various electromagnetic field. Using spectrum analysis method we found some devices could effect on the frequency of telemetry system. We also investigate the relationship between intensity of the signal and distance for the selected equipment used in hospitals.

This paper proposes an edge adaptive color interpolation for an ultra-small HD-grade complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) video sensor in camera phones that can process 720-p/30-fps videos. Recently, proposed methods with great image quality perceptually reconstruct the green component and then estimate the red/blue component using the reconstructed green and neighbor red and blue pixels. However, these methods require the bulky memory line buffers in order to temporally store the reconstructed green components. The edge adaptive color interpolation method uses seven or nine patterns to calculate the six edge directions. At the same time, the threshold values are adaptively adjusted by the sum of the color values of the selected pixels. This method selects the suitable one among the patterns using two flowcharts proposed in this paper, and then interpolates the missing color values. For verification, we calculated the peak-signal-to-noise-ratio (PSNR) in the test images, which were processed by the proposed algorithm, and compared the calculated PSNR of the existing methods. The proposed color interpolation is also fabricated with the 0.18-${\mu}m$ CMOS flash memory process.

$CaMoO_4:Tb^{3+}$ green phosphor powders and thin films were successfully prepared by using the solid-state reaction method and the radio-frequency magnetron sputtering technique, respectively. The crystalline structure of all phosphor powders with different $Tb^{3+}$ ion concentrations was found to be a tetragonal system with the maximum diffraction intensity at $28.58^{\circ}$, while that of the phosphor thin films, irrespective of the type of substrate, was amorphous. As for the phosphor powders, the grain particles showed the chain-like patterns with inhomogeneous size distribution, the excitation spectra were composed of a broad band peaked at 307 nm and two small narrow bands centered at 381 and 492 nm, and the highest green emission spectrum was observed at 0.01 mol of $Tb^{3+}$ ions. As for the phosphor thin films, the average transmittance exceeding 85% was measured in the 400~1,100 nm range and the optical band gap showed a significant dependence on the type of substrate.
We present a multiwavelength study of the X-class flare, which occurred in active region (AR) NOAA 11339 on 3 November 2011. The EUV images recorded by SDO/AIA show the activation of a remote filament (located north of the AR) with footpoint brightenings about 50 min prior to the flare occurrence. The kinked filament rises-up slowly and after reaching a projected height of ~49 Mm, it bends and falls freely near the AR, where the X-class flare was triggered. Dynamic radio spectrum from the Green Bank Solar Radio Burst Spectrometer (GBSRBS) shows simultaneous detection of both positive and negative drifting pulsating structures (DPSs) in the decimetric radio frequencies (500-1200 MHz) during the impulsive phase of the flare. The global negative DPSs in solar flares are generally interpreted as a signature of electron acceleration related to the upward moving plasmoids in the solar corona. The EUV images from AIA $94{\AA}$ reveal the ejection of multiple plasmoids, which move simultaneously upward and downward in the corona during the magnetic reconnection. The estimated speeds of the upward and downward moving plasmoids are ~152-362 and ~83-254 km/s, respectively. These observations strongly support the recent numerical simulations of the formation and interaction of multiple plasmoids due to tearing of the current-sheet structure. On the basis of our analysis, we suggest that the simultaneous detection of both the negative and positive DPSs is most likely generated by the interaction/coalescence of the multiple plasmoids moving upward and downward along the current-sheet structure during the magnetic reconnection process. Moreover, the differential emission measure (DEM) analysis of the active region reveals presence of a hot flux-rope structure (visible in AIA 131 and $94{\AA}$) prior to the flare initiation and ejection of the multi-temperature plasmoids during the flare impulsive phase.

In this paper, we propose a vehicular cooperative navigation system using GNSS, vision sensor and radar sensor that are frequently used in mass-produced cars. The proposed cooperative vehicular navigation system is a variant of the Hybrid-Sum Product Algorithm over Wireless Network (H-SPAWN), where we use vision and radar sensors instead of radio ranging(i.e.,UWB). The performance is compared and analyzed with respect to the sensors, especially the position estimation error decreased about fifty percent when using radar compared to vision and radio ranging. In conclusion, the proposed system with these popular sensors can improve position accuracy compared to conventional cooperative navigation system(i.e.,H-SPAWN) and decrease implementation costs.

Due to the global warming, the restriction for emitting the green-house gas is strengthened and a main ingredient of the green-house gas is carbon dioxide ($CO_2$). In order to reduce the amount of $CO_2$, the low-carbon and long-life of the construction and the construction materials management system based on the radio frequency identification (RFID) technique have been actively studied in the construction field. The conventional construction management system based on RFID only focuses on the study and experiment for managing the used amount and location of the construction materials in the construction stage, but it does not consider the study for the status management system for the recycling materials in the construction stage or the building deactivation. In this paper, we propose the effective RFID system for managing the status of the construction materials during the construction stage or the building deactivation. Employing RFID with the frequency of 900MHz, the proposed system consists of the reader unit, communication unit, and memory unit, and its tags are attached in the surface or inside of the construction materials.

By the example, 'GREEN CITY of PUSAN 21' progress to decorate army facilities like the park, and to plant street trees in several places of city plan in Pusan. And urban environment that big cities of advanced nation are agreeable is making in the large park and road street trees at several places in downtown. Because price of tree for the park is very expensive, tree management system was all-important. In this paper, Motes deliver the sensor information in each tree through radio sensor network by server side.
