  • In this study, The cathode interface layer (CIL) was investigated using aromatic diamine derivatives. Cz-TPD (4,4'-biscarbazolyl (9)-biphenyl) used in the cathode interface layers is investigated emition charcaracteristics at the green organic electroluminescent devices TPD (N.N'-dyphenyl-N-N'-bis(3-methy phenyl)-1.1'-biphenyl-4.4'-diamine) as the hole transformer layer and $Alq_3$:tris (8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminium) as the electron transport layer and emiting layer maded use of the organic electroluminescent device. The Organic Electroluminescent Device with Ag, cathode and CIL of Cz-TPD(4,4'-biscarbazolyl(9)-biphenyl) showed good EL characteristics compare to a conventional Mg:Ag device and also an improved storage stability.[1] As the change in MgAg, Cz-TPD/Ag, Ag at the chthode, the electron and optical charcaracteriseics were investigated.

DME 분사 시기 조절을 통한 수소-DME 부분 예혼합 압축착화 연소 제어 (Combustion Control through the DME Injection Timing in the Hydrogen-DME Partially Premixed Compression Ignition Engine)

  • Hydrogen-dimethy ether(DME) partially premixed compression ignition(PCCI) engine combustion was investigated in a single cylinder compression ignition engine. Hydrogen and DME were used as low carbon alternative fuels to reduce green house gases and pollutant. Hydrogen was injected at the intake manifold with an injection pressure of 0.5 MPa at fixed injection timing, $-210^{\circ}CA$ aTDC. DME was injected directly into the cylinder through the common-rail injection system at injection pressure of 30 MPa. DME inejction timing was varied to find the optimum PCCI combustion to reduce CO, HC and NOx emissions. When DME was injected early, CO and HC emissions were high while NOx emission was low. As the DME injection was retarded, the CO and HC emissions were decreased due to high combustion efficiency. NOx emissions were increased due to the high in-cylinder temperature. When DME were injected at $-30^{\circ}CA$ aTDC, reduction of HC, CO and NOx emissions was possible with high value of IMEP.

교육시설 리모델링을 위한 에너지 절감 요소기술의 성능 평가 - 노후 중학교 건물 중심으로 - (Evaluating Performance of Energy Conservation Measures for Remodeling Educational Facilities - Focused on Deteriorated Middle School Buildings -)

  • Recently, all of the world are facing with a serious environmental crisis of global warming due to excessive energy consumptions. The Korean Government, taking over 97% of dependence on foreign energy, has made various efforts on reducing energy and greenhouse gas emission under the motto of "Low-Carbon Green Growth". Since the building sector takes 24% of domestic energy consumption, many design standards and regulations on saving energy in new buildings have been established. However, applications of energy saving designs and techniques on the remodeling process at deteriorated buildings including educational ones have been lack. Under a situation where the number of deteriorated schools accounts for up to 50%, this paper evaluated the performances of factors for reducing energy at deteriorated middle school buildings through an energy simulation tool on a standard school model. As a result, among factors of insulation, window's SHGC, southern louver, indoor setup temperature, and system efficiency, all other factors except window's SHGC and southern louver proved contribute to reduce energy at deteriorated middle school buildings, compared with the baseline energy consumption.

  • Low temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) is one of promising materials for MEMS structures because it has very good electrical and mechanical properties as well as possibility of making various three dimensional (3D) structures. In this work, piezoelectric pressure sensors based on hybrid LTCC technology were presented. The LTCC diaphragms with thickness of 400 um were fabricated by laminating 12 green tapes which consist of alumina and glass particle in an organic binder. The piezoelectric sensing layer consists of $Pb(ZrTi)O_3$ (PZT) thin film deposited by RF magnetron sputtering method on between top and bottom Au electrodes. The results showed that the fabrication method is very suitable for pressure sensor applications. The PZT films deposited on LTCC diaphragms were successfully grown and were analyzed by using X-ray diffraction method (XRD) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM).

Canna edulis Leaf Extract-Mediated Preparation of Stabilized Silver Nanoparticles: Characterization, Antimicrobial Activity, and Toxicity Studies

  • A novel approach to synthesize silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using leaf extract of Canna edulis Ker-Gawl. (CELE) under ambient conditions is reported here. The as-prepared AgNPs were analyzed by UV-visible spectroscopy, transmission emission microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform-infrared spectroscopy, energy-dispersive analysis of X-ray spectroscopy, zeta potential, and dynamic light scattering. The AgNPs showed excellent antimicrobial activity against various pathogens, including bacteria and various fungi. The biocompatibility of the AgNPs was analyzed in the L929 cell line using NRU and MTT assays. Acridine orange/ethidium bromide staining was used to determine whether the AgNPs had necrotic or apoptotic effects on L929 cells. The concentration of AgNPs required for 50% inhibition of growth of mammalian cells is far more than that required for inhibition of pathogenic microorganisms. Thus, CELE is a candidate for the eco-friendly, clean, cost-effective, and nontoxic synthesis of AgNPs.

평면예혼합화염중의 N2O 농도변화에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study of N2O Concentration Profiles in Planner Premixed Flame)

  • The Marine Environment Protection Committee(MEPC) which is the IMO's specialized committee on marine pollution related matters deals with GHG related issues to discuss and compile possible approaches on technical, operational and market based measures to address GHG emissions from ships. The nitrous oxide($N_2O$) which remains generally in the atmosphere for around 114 years is one of the green house gases. The global warming potential of $N_2O$ is 310 times than $CO_2$ in the given period 100 years. It seems that the $N_2O$ formation is influenced by the nitrogen compound contained in the fuel which is named as "Fuel N" during the combustion process or the NOx, SOx and $H_2O$ through the emission gases before exhausted into the atmosphere. This paper has carried out an experimental study of the $N_2O$ concentration profiles by the change of $NH_3$ flows in the planner premixed combustion with using $C_3H_8$ and air.

해수 온도차를 이용한 선박의 ORC 발전 시스템 최적화 (A Optimization of the ORC for Ship's Power Generation System)

  • 본 논문에서는 선박에서 배출되는 $CO_2$ 배출을 최소화하기 위한 노력의 일환으로 선박으로부터 배출되는 열에너지를 회수하고 재활용하는 방안으로 유기랭킨사이클 발전장치를 구동함으로써 선박의 에너지 효율을 높이고 온실가스 배출을 최소화할 수 있는 방안을 연구하였다. 선박에서 배출되는 배기가스와 냉각 시스템에서 배출되는 열에너지를 회수하여 터빈 발전기를 구동하는 ORC 발전시스템을 설계하고 시뮬레이션 하였다. 다양한 친환경 유기냉매를 이용하여 냉매를 적용하여 온도와 유량변화에 따른 열 해석을 실시하였고 냉각수 열원 예열기, 배기가스 가열기로 시스템을 구성하여 2,400kW급의 발전 출력을 얻을 수 있었다.

무부하급가속검사방법을 이용한 디젤자동차의 매연프로브 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Performance of Soot Probe of Diesel Vehicles using Free Acceleration Mode Method)

  • Inspection of vehicle systems is regularly performed by the state to ensure the emission status and the safety of vehicles. Thereby, the safety and quality of life can be improved by reducing green-house gases and fine dust, which are the main causes of vehicle defects and air pollution. This study analyzed the soot measuring probes used in the free acceleration mode method, at no-load condition, looking at the efficiency of a probe to measure soot emissions from diesel vehicles. In this study, a technique that can improve the inhalation efficiency of the probe over the (a) probes and the improved (b) probes was applied to probes (c). Probe (c) involves a structure designed close to the center of the circumference of the exhaust pipe. Results showed that the suction efficiency was improved by adding a variable center unit.

  • The hydrogen fuel and fuel cell which have high energy efficiency and low pollutant emission are getting interest as an alternative energies due to the fossil fuel exhaust, green house effect and atmospheric pollutant problems. The hydrogen gas is very effective as an alternative energy. But, if it is leaked into the air it forms the mixed gas with the air then the danger of the explosion is risen up. So, the secure the safety is mostly important. In this research, to detect the leakage of the hydrogen rapidly, added the odorant materials which don't include the sulfur component into the hydrogen gas and researched on the effect of each odorant on the performance of the fuel cell. As the results, setting the cumulation electric power on the basis and comparing the pure hydrogen, 2,3-Butanedione 5ppm mixed gas 86.1%, 5-Ethylidene-2-Norbornene 17ppm mixed gas 88.2%, Isovaleraldehyde 10ppm mixed gas 74.8%, Ethyl Isobutyrate 2.2ppm mixed gas 93.5% of performance was shown.

Chromatic Parameters in the Condition Monitoring of Synthetic Hydraulic Oils

  • Chromatic device was developed using light emitting diodes, optic fibers and photodiodes. Chromatic ratio and total contamination parameters based on transmitted light intensity in Red, Green, and Blue wavelengths were used for oil chemical and particulate contamination assessment. Chromatic ratio criterion was found independent of the particulate contamination of oil; but depended on chemical degradation, being more sensitive for synthetic than mineral hydraulic oil. Total contamination index of the sensor depended on both the chemical degradation and particulate contamination of the oil; being most sensitive in blue wavelength, and least in the red. Test results for synthetic hydraulic oils monitored corroborated with results of other tests such as viscosity, total acid number, elemental optical emission spectroscopy, particulate counts and UV-VIS photospectrometry. Chromatic ratio showed a clearer indication of oil degradation, compared to key monitoring parameters such as total acid number, viscosity and particle counts. The results showed that these parameters are effective criteria for the condition monitoring of synthetic hydraulic oils.
