  • In July of last year, the Korean version of the New Deal National Report Conference was held in the presence of the President, and the "Korean version of the New Deal Comprehensive Plan" was announced as its core strategy. In the field of education, the "Green Smart Future School" project has been included as one of the top 10 Korean New Deal projects. And last year, due to the spread of non-face-to-face classes due to COVID-19, the demand for ICT technology in front-line education sites rapidly increased. Therefore, In this paper, we examine the problems of the wireless network and wired infrastructure of the classroom in the past, and design wired network infrastructure and wireless network equipment for green smart classrooms with high-speed wireless networks that can be used for non-face-to-face and face-to-face classes, and build them in actual classrooms. An example for the following was presented.

  • Wall structure smart modular is a building construction method where modules are manufactured in a factory and assembled on-site. This method is gaining popularity in the construction industry as it reduces construction time and mitigates risks such as material supply and labor costs. Wall structure smart modular is necessary as it provides comfortable temporary classroom space during renovation and remodeling of aging school buildings. The structure and characteristics of each type of temporary classroom modular were compared, and wall structure modular showed superior performance in terms of height and weight competitiveness compared to mixed structures. With these advantages, wall structure modular can ensure economic efficiency and recyclability as a temporary classroom. In the future, we aim to compare and analyze the standards such as inter-floor noise and heat transfer coefficient for wall structure and mixed structures.

  • Background and objective: Plant-based biofilter system has become a promising candidate for improving indoor air quality due to its eco-friendly and sustainable nature. However, it remains controversial whether indoor air purification using a biofilter is effective. Methods: This study used the one-group pre- and post-test design to analyze the effects of the operation of the plant-based biofilter system on indoor air quality, students' perception of indoor air quality, health effects, and subjective and objective attentiveness. Results: Results of this study show that the application of the plant-based biofilter system changed the air environment in the classroom. The operation of the plant-based biofilter system significantly decreased PM2.5 and PM10 and slightly increased temperature and humidity. Satisfaction with air quality and subjective attentiveness were significantly improved but objective attentiveness and health effects were not improved. Conclusion: Further studies need to be conducted for improving indoor air quality of schools and evaluating the health effects and attention of occupants to present the objective performance of the plant-based biofilter system.

  • This study is a case study to identify the spatial composition and structural problems of existing schools for spatial innovation as a future school that can operate a credit system for old high schools and establish a mid-to-long-term arrangement plan as a credit system operating school capable of various teaching and learning in the future. The study results are as follows: First, most of the problems of the old high schools entailed that there was very poor connectivity between buildings as most of them were arranged in a single, standard design-type unit building and distributed in multiple buildings. In addition, the floor plan of each building is suggested to be a structure in which student exchange and rest functions cannot be achieved during the break period due to the spatial composition of the classroom and hallway concepts. Second, in the direction of the high school space configuration for future school space innovation, the arrangement plan should be established by reflecting the collective arrangement in consideration of the shortening of the movement route and the expansion of subject areas due to the movement of students on the premise of the subject classroom system. Moreover, it is desirable to provide a square-type space for rest and exchange in the central area where communication and exchange are possible according to the moving class. Third, as the evaluation criteria for relocating old high schools, a space program is prepared based on the number of classes in the future, and legal analysis of school land use and land use efficiency analysis considering regional characteristics are conducted. Based on such analysis data, mid-to-long-term land use plans and space arrangement plans for the entire school space such as the school facility complex are established.
