Comer Detection in Gray Lavel Images for Wafer Die Position Recognition (웨이퍼 다이 위치 인식을 위한 명암 영상 코너점 검출)

  • In this paper, we will introduce a new corner detector for the wafer die position recognition. The die position recognition procedure is necessary for WSCSP(Wafer Scale Chip Scale Packaging) technology, decide the accuracy of post-procedure. We present a hierarchical gray level corner detection method for the recognition of the die position from a wafer image. The new corner detector divides the corner region into many homocentric circles, and calculates the comer response and the angle of direction about each circle to get an accurate toner point. The new corner detector has a hierarchical structure so it can detect comer point more quickly than general gray level corner detector.

  • A modified Time-Ratio Gray Scale AMOLED drive technique is described in which the frame period is split into two half-frames, each of which is divided into binary weighted sub-frames and driven in the conventional time-ratio manner. The proposed technique improves aperture ratio by reducing TFT sizes in pixel circuits.

  • In this paper we propose fast real-time hardwares for morphological operators using the method of decomposing gray-scale values into binary. the designed hardware is generalized not to be affected by the maximum values of structuring elements. We also propose a method of designing parallel hardware using the unit morphological hardware to deal with situations of using various sizes of structuring elements. The VHDL simulation results of the unit morphological hardwares are identical to those of theorectical operators.

  • A process of identifying moving objects from data is typical task in many computer vision applications. In this paper, we propose a motion segmentation method that generally consists from background subtraction and foreground pixel segmentation. The Approximated Median Filter (AMF) was chosen to perform background modelling. To demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed approach, we tested it gray-scale video data as well as RGB color space.

  • In PDP(Plasma Display Panel), sub-field method is used to implement gray scale. Each sub-field has different periods. And Every gray level has information of which sub-field has to be displayed. This is called sub-field mapping. There are several sub-field mapping values in some gray levels. So, it is possible to select best choice in this paper, we propose new sub field mapping method using a fuzzy inference system to select best sub-field mapping values in accordance with input image and environment temperature. In order to implement fuzzy system, we used MATLAB fuzzy inference editor.

  • A direct authentication from gray-scale image, instead of the conventional multi-step preprocessing, is proposed using Gabor filter-based features from the gray-scale fingerprint around core point. The core point is located as a reference point for the translation invariant matching. And its principal symmetry axis is detected for the rotation invariant matching from its neighboring region centered at the core point. And then fingerprint is divided into non-overlapping blocks with respect to the core point and features are directly extracted form the blocked gray level fingerprint using Gabor filter. The proposed fingerprint authentication is based on the Euclidean distance between the corresponding Gabor features of the input and the template fingerprints. Experiments are conducted on 300${\times}$300 fingerprints obtained from a CMOS sensor with 500 dpi resolution, and the proposed method could lower the False Reject Rate(FRR) to 18.2% under False Acceptance Rate(FAR) of 0%.

  • A vehicle license plate includes the most important information for recognition and classification of the vehicle. In this paper, we propose a vehicle license plate recognition system using image binarization and template matching. In the proposed system, an image of the vehicle license plate is converted into a gray scale image and the gray image undergoes the binarization process. Finally, the numbers on the plate are extracted from the binary image using the template matching algorithm.

  • In this paper, Another way to measure the visibility of image is presented, and this way is different with existing way which is measured by filtering such as High pass, Low pass. Dynamic range, Gray level and Condition Curve Graph is used among much information of histogram, and the output is limited by log scale. As a result, I can confirm that the output is reasonable. With this output, I present that the possibility of another way to measure the visibility of image is existing.

  • 부유사 수리실험에서 부유사의 농도를 측정하는 것은 불확실성이 매우 크다. Einstein(1950)은 유사의 pickup function 결정에서 이러한 불확실성 때문에 유사입자의 거동을 발생시키는 양력의 확률을 적용하기도 하였다. 일반적으로 부유사의 측정은 부유사 채집기를 통해 수행하지만, 시간적으로 비효율 적이며, 채집 시 채집기의 부피로 인한 난류 발생으로 채집 후 흐름 변화가 발생할 수 있다. 수리실험의 규모라면 이 문제는 더욱 부각될 수 있다. 연속적인 부유사의 농도 측정을 위해 이러한 점은 개선되어야 하는 문제이다. 본 연구에서는 유사 실험의 이러한 단점을 극복하고자 image processing 기법을 적용하였다. Image processing은 부유사의 농도가 증가할수록 탁도가 증가하는 특성을 이용하여, 부유사 농도를 추정하는 방법이다. 이 과정에서 RGB(Red-Green-Blue)로 색을 표시하는 방식에서 image를 변환하여 gray scale로 전환해야 하며, 파(wave)의 전파에 의한 image 결과의 변형은 없다고 가정하였다. Gray scale과 탁도와의 관계를 도출하기 위해 하상에 유사를 포설하고, 단파(surge)를 발생 시켰다. 실험은 길이 12.0m, 폭 0.8m, 높이 0.75m의 개수로에서 수행하였으며, 수로 상류에 sluice형 gate를 급격하게 개방하는 것으로 단파를 재현하였다. 탁도 측정을 위해 유사 채집기를 이용하였으며, 상기에서 제시한 흐름 교란문제로, 1지점에서 1개의 시간동안만 채집을 수행하였으며, image의 촬영을 병행하였다. 또한 data의 정확도를 높이기 위해 3번의 반복실험을 수행하였다. 실험결과 gray scale과 탁도와는 일정한 관계가 나타났으며, 이를 토대로 gray scale-SSC(suspended sediment concentration)와의 관계를 도출하였다. Bayesian 분석을 이용하여 image processing의 보정(확률적 보정)을 추가적으로 수행하였다. 최종적으로 실측한 값과 image processing을 통한 값을 1:1 curve를 통해 비교하였으며, 약 9%의 평균 오차가 발생하여, image processing과 bayesian 적용을 통한 부유사 농도 측정은 신뢰할 만한 결과를 도출하는 것으로 판단된다.

Quality Evaluation of Ultrasonographic Equipment Using an ATS-539 Multipurpose Phantom in Veterinary Medicine

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the status of quality control using multipurpose phantom of ultrasound equipment used in hospital of veterinary college in South Korea by using ATS-539 multipurpose phantom so as to examine quantitative and objective new image evaluation method. Specialists discussed and analyzed multipurpose phantom images acquired by using convex transducer of 10 ultrasound imaging devices, currently used in 9 veterinary colleges, at 4.0-6.0 MHz. Total 8 items that can be measured with ATS-539 multipurpose phantom including dead zone, vertical and horizontal measurement, axial/lateral resolution, sensitivity, focal zone, functional resolution and gray scale/dynamic range were evaluated. For qualitative evaluation, valid decisions were made based on dead zone, axial/lateral resolution, and gray scale/dynamic range which are resolution index, and coefficient of variation (COV) and blind referenceless image spatial quality evaluator (BRISQUE) were found to increase objectivity. As a result of experiment, all the targeted ultrasonic devices were found appropriate from qualitative evaluation items of dead zone, axial/lateral resolution, and gray scale/dynamic range. In other evaluation items, they were found to be appropriate from focal zone and vertical measurement of quantitative evaluation while inappropriate from horizontal measurement, sensitivity, and functional resolution. COV value was 0.12 ± 0.04, and BRISQUE value was 47.77 ± 2.77, both analysis results show that the noise level of all ultrasonic devices was located within tolerance range. Upon image examination using ATS-539 multipurpose phantom, they were 100% appropriate with inspection standards of dead zone, axial/lateral resolution, and gray scale/dynamic range, and besides, focal zone and functional resolution can be used as evaluation items. In the field of veterinary medicine, 8 standard items using ATS-539 multipurpose phantom and image evaluation items using COV and BRISQUE can be used as standards for quality control of ultrasonography machine.
