  • In this paper, an automatic pipe-cutting machine that uses magnet to attach itself to pipe and performs unmanned cutting process is proposed. The machine uses magnetic force to prevent slip and to attach the machine to the pipe against gravity. The magnetic force is adjustable by changing the gap between the magnet and the pipe. During pipe cutting process, the gravity acting on the pipe-cutting machine widely varies nonlinearly where the gravity is function of climbing angle of the cutting machine along the pipe.   • For many years, many pilots lost their lives and aircrafts due to GLOC(Gravity-induced Loss Of Consciousness). Due to the emergence of high-gravity maneuvering aircraft such as the F-16, F-15 and T-50, the automatic GLOC detection and recovery systems are necessary to increase the aircraft safeties even when the pilot loses his consciousness due to high-G maneuvering. This paper addresses the design of GLOC detection, warning and recovery algorithm based on a model of supersonic jet trainer. The system is solely controlled by the pilot's control input (i.e., control stick force) and aircraft status such as attitude, airspeed, altitude and so forth. And, moreover, it does not depend upon any pilot physiological condition. The test evaluation results show that the developed system supports the recovery of an aircraft from the unusual aircraft attitude and improves the aircraft safeties even when the pilot loses his consciousness due to high-G maneuvering.

  • Some useful flow regime data are obtained from the experiments using the flight producing hyper-gravity(2g) conditions and on ground(1g) with the identical flow conditions. The flow regime data obtained at 1g and 2g conditions are compared with new dimensionless flow regime map using Fr, Bo and We number related with gravity, surface tension and inertia force.

Design of a Robot's Hand with Two 3-Axis Force Sensor for Grasping an Unknown Object

  • This paper describes the design of a robot's hand with two fingers for stably grasping an unknown object, and the development of a 3-axis force sensor for which is necessary to constructing the robot's fingers. In order to safely grasp an unknown object using the robot's fingers, they should measure the forces in the gripping and in the gravity directions, and control the measured forces. The 3-axis force sensor should be used for accurately measuring the weight of an unknown object in the gravity direction. Thus, in this paper, the robot's hand with two fingers for stably grasping an unknown object is designed, and the 3-axis force sensor is newly modeled and fabricated using several parallel-plate beams.

  • A simple pendulum shows how efficient gravity is in recovering energy. Any transportation is a linearly oscillating system; every load gains kinetic energy, but loses the same to come to a stop. The Gravity Power Towers comprise of a set of vertically moving heavy masses coupled, through microprocessor controlled continuously variable gear and cable system, to a horizontally rolling unit on wheels either on rail or road. The heavy masses move vertically up against gravity gaining potential energy while stopping a moving mass; move down under gravity force, giving out energy. The Tower thus accelerates or sustains the speed a rolling unit, and while decelerating, recover the kinetic energy. Speeds of 360 kmph can be attained. Recovery of energy varies from 98.5-70%; the longer the distance between stops, the lesser is recovery. The economical, omnipresent & eternal Gravity Power grants energy independence to many a nation. Global warming reduces.

  • 본 논문은 경사진 원형관에서 표면장력과 중력으로 구동되는 비뉴턴 유체(멱법칙 모델)의 유동 및 변위를 이론적으로 연구한 것이다. 그리고 표면장력에 의하여 연속적으로 원형관 내로 유입되는 비뉴턴 유체의 변위를 기술하기 위한 지배방정식을 처음으로 개발하였다. 뉴턴의 운동방정식으로부터 유도된 식은 2계 비선형이며 비제차인 형태의 상미분 방정식이다. 지배방정식의 해를 수평관에서 변위를 시간의 함수로 기술한 식 및 실험과 비교한 결과 정량적으로 동일한 일치를 보였다. 여기에 더하여 정상상태인 힘의 균형식의 결과에 대해서도 정확한 일치로 나타남을 확인할 수 있었다.

  • A Electrostatic chuck is a device that fixes the substrate, using the force between charges applied between two parallel plates to attract substrates such as wafers or OLED panels. Unlike mechanical suction methods, which rely on physical fixation, this method utilizes the force of electrostatics for fixation, making it important to verify the adhesion force. As the size of the substrate increases, deformations due to gravity or chucking force also increase, and the adhesion force decreases rapidly as the distance between the chuck and the substrate increases. The outlook for displays is shifting from small to large OLEDs, necessitating consideration of substrate deformations. In this paper, to confirm the deformation of the substrate through various patterns, a simplified 2D model using Ansys' electromagnetic field analysis program, Maxwell, and the static structural analysis program, Mechanical, was utilized to observe changes in adhesion force according to the variation in the air gap between the substrate and the chuck. Additionally, the chucking force was analyzed for the size of the substrate, and the deformation of the substrate was confirmed when gravity and chucking force act simultaneously.

조합하중시의 플랫 플레이트 슬래브 시스템에 대한 수정된 등가골조 모델 (A Modified Equivalent Frame Model for Flat Plate Slabs Under Combined Lateral and Gravity Loads)

  • Flat plate slab systems have been commonly used as a gravity force resisting systems, which should be constructed with lateral force resisting systems such as shear walls and moment resisting frame. ACI 318(2005) allows the Direct design method, the equivalent frame method (ACI-EFM) under gravity loads and the finite-element models, effective beam width models and equivalent frame models under lateral loads. ACI-EFM can be used for gravity loads as well as lateral loads analysis. But the method may not predict the behavior of flat plate slabs under lateral loads. Thus Previous study developed a Modified equivalent frame method(Modified-EFM) which could give more precise answer for flat plate slab under lateral loads. This study is to verified the accuracy of a Modified-EFM under combined lateral and gravity loads. The accuracy of this model is verified by comparing the results using the Modified-EFM with the results of finite element analysis. For this purpose, 7 story building is considered. The analysis results of other existing models are included. The analysis results show that Modified-EFM produces comparable drift and slab internal moments with those obtained from finite element analysis.

평판 강혼 주조용 연주기의 Slip Force 거동에 대하여 (Behavior of Slip Force in Continuous Flate Casting)

  • 평판 강괴를 연속적으로 주조할 경우에 초기주조 상태에서 Mold 내부의 Support bar 및 용강자중, 주조속도, 용강두께, 이를 지지하는 제어 Roller, 유압기구, 구동 Motor, 그리고 주조조직의 응고 등이 용강의 인발력을 유도하는 Pinch Roller와의 사이에서 동력학적 부평형을 일으켜 Slip 현상을 초래하므로 본 논문에서는 이상의 제요인들을 근거로 Slip 현상을 규명하는 식을 유도하고 강괴의 주조속도, 비중량, 두께의 변화에 대한 Slip Force 거동을 규명하였다. 그 결과 1. 본 논문의 해석식에 의하여 평판강괴 연속주조용 Pinch Roller의 적정압을 설계할 수 있다. 2. 비중량은 순수히 자중만 증가시키는 요인이며 Slip Force는 주조속도변화에 대해서 포물선적으로 증가한다. 3. 주조두께 및 비중량의 변화에 대한 Slip Force는 이에 비례하여 증가하나 특히 두께의 값이 소폭보다 대폭에서 그 변화 값이 크게 나타났다.
