  • Objective : This study is to investigate the effect of Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang on Male Acne patients. Methods : We treated 3 male acne patients diagnosed as the deficiency of Yin with Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang and comedon extraction. After treatments We compared the before and after photos, and estimated by Korean Acne Grading System(KAGS). Results & Conclusions : After taking Yukmijihwangtang Gamibang, extruding comedones by needle and appling acupuncture, the acne was improved. This study shows that the acne can possibly be diagnosed as the deficiency of Yin. So further studies are needed continuously.

  • MIL-HDBK-217 has widely been used for electronics reliability predictions. Recently, the $217Plus^{TM}$ has been developed by DoD RIAC and may replace MIL-HDBK-217. A overview of the $217Plus^{TM}$ has been performed in this paper. We first reviewed the overall concepts and reliability prediction procedures. We then explained the component models and the system level model with process grading concepts. Bayesian approach incorporating field data into the predicted failure rate is another feature of this methodology.

  • Purpose: To evaluate the result of arthroscopic modified Brostrom procedure with suture anchor for chronic lateral ankle instability. Materials and Methods: Fifty-two patients with chronic lateral ankle instability were analyzed, who underwent arthroscopic modified Brostrom procedure between December 2010 and May 2012. Clinical evaluation was performed using AOFAS scroring and Sefton grading system. Results: The average AOFAS hind foot score increased from preoperative 61.9 to 88.8 at the last follow up. There were 35 excellent, 9 good, 4 fair, 4 poor results according to Sefton grading system. For one patient, lateral ankle instability recurred. Conclusion: Arthroscopic modified Brostrom procedure is considered to be an effective and satisfactory technique.

  • The Institute of Medicine in its report "Clinical Practice Guidelines we can trust" defined standards for clinical practice guidelines. However, many guidelines continue to rely on expert opinion and lack a formal framework for moving from evidence to recommendations. These guidelines may or may not be labeled as "consensus statements" and do not meet contemporary standards for guideline documents we would refer to as "evidence-based". Therefore, the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation working group developed a novel, rigorous and transparent approach to grading certainty (quality) of evidence. In addition, it created a system for "moving from evidence to decisions", for example for the development of evidence-based guidelines. In this article, we aim to introduce this approach to appraising the certainty of relevant evidence and estimate the benefits and detriments of health care interventions within the larger context of evidence-based medicine.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate beef using a color machine vision system. The machine vision system has an advantage to measure larger area than a colorimeter and also could measure other quality factors like distribution of fats. However, the machine vision measurement is affected by system components. To measure the beef color with the machine vision system, the effect of color balancing control was tested and calibration model was developed. Neural network for color calibration which learned reference color patches showed a high correlation with colorimeter in L*a*b* coordinates and had an adaptability at various measurement environments. The trained network showed a very high correlation with the colorimeter when measuring beef color.

  • This paper presents various attempts to secure the floor impact sound insulation performance on the dry floor system of steel framed modular house that lately attracted domestic attention. Test results show that in the condition of using dry floor system of D31(D32), the light-weight impact noise performance records the top level in the floor impact sound insulation performance grading system. the heavy-weight floor impact noise performance meets the minimum sound level limit in the floor impact sound insulation performance grading system that enacted regulation on housing construction standards.

  • The emergence of highly contagious viral diseases of livestock and poultry such as foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), African swine fever (ASF) and highly pathogenic influenza (HPAI) have necessitated the formulation of policies and regulatory frameworks for preventing ingress of exotic diseases and controlling dissemination of endemic diseases within the country. The disease control ratings to manage contagious livestock disease in farms have not being widely used because the evaluation parameters were not being considered inappropriate. The purpose of this study was to reinforce the validity of the parameters for evaluation factors and the objectivity of the scoring criteria in the application of the current disease management rating system. The diseases subject to intensive management were improved by reflecting farm situation. For the evaluation based on the disease grading system of farms, the diseases subject to intensive management were realized, the list of diseases for evaluating the vaccination rate was revised, and the quarantine and sanitation management standards were revised. The effectiveness of the improved livestock disease management system was confirmed through the application of actual pig farms. Therefore, this system will be used as a means to evaluation the biosecurity at the farm units. Through this, it will contribute to establish effective biosecurity measures for each farm by improving and supplementing the present disease grading system.

  • Objectives : This study was designed to compare the effects of Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment with bee venom pharmacopuncture treatment in hospitalized patients with peripheral facial paralysis. Methods : This study was done on a total of 41 patients with peripheral facial paralysis who were admitted into the Korean Medicine Hospital from February 1st, 2013 to April 30th, 2014. Wedivided patients into two groups. The Jungsongouhyul group was treated by Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture once a day and the bee venom group was treated by bee venom pharmacopuncture once a day. To compare the therapeutical effects of the two treatments, we used Yanagihara's unweighted grading system, House-Brachmann grading system, lip-length & snout indices and facial disablity index twice - before initial treatment and after final treatment. Results : Both Yanagihara's score and House-Brachmann grading system score improved in each group. However, there were no significant differences in improvement between the bee venom group and the Jungsongouhyul group. Conclusions : Jungsongouhyul pharmacopuncture treatment appears to be as effective as bee venom pharmacopuncture treatment to improve symptoms of peripheral facial paralysis.
