In this paper, we propose the fusion design methodology of both pedestrian detection and object tracking system realized with the aid of HOG-PCA based RBFNN pattern classifier. The proposed system includes detection and tracking parts. In the detection part, HOG features are extracted from input images for pedestrian detection. Dimension reduction is also dealt with in order to improve detection performance as well as processing speed by using PCA which is known as a typical dimension reduction method. The reduced features can be used as the input of the FCM-based RBFNNs pattern classifier to carry out the pedestrian detection. FCM-based RBFNNs pattern classifier consists of condition, conclusion, and inference parts. FCM clustering algorithm is used as the activation function of hidden layer. In the conclusion part of network, polynomial functions such as constant, linear, quadratic and modified quadratic are regarded as connection weights and their coefficients of polynomial function are estimated by LSE-based learning. In the tracking part, object tracking algorithms such as mean shift(MS) and cam shift(CS) leads to trace one of the pedestrian candidates nominated in the detection part. Finally, INRIA person database is used in order to evaluate the performance of the pedestrian detection of the proposed system while MIT pedestrian video as well as indoor and outdoor videos obtained from IC&CI laboratory in Suwon University are exploited to evaluate the performance of tracking.
The flow and heat transfer characteristics of a heat exchanger having rectangular pin-fin in the flow direction have been investigated numerically. On the bottom plate, the convective boundary conditions for the hot side was given, and the fins were arranged in a channel-type geometric model using the periodic boundary condition in the span-wise direction. Three-dimensional numerical calculations for the flow and conjugate heat transfer problem were conducted using SIMPLE algorithm and $k-{\varepsilon}$ turbulence model. For the slanted pin-fin models, it was found that the downward cooling flow is generated due to the downward pressure gradient component, which can enhance the heat transfer performance near the bottom surface and the fin stem region. Four different inclined angles were considered in the Reynolds number range of 13,500-55,000. The aero-thermal performance of the slanted pin-fin heat exchangers, such as the volume and area goodness factors, were summarized and compared with the baseline plate-fin type heat exchanger quantitatively.

One of reliability measurements of vehicle is estimated by driving mileage but the reliability of component, such as an hydraulic clutch system, is defined from the number of successful operational cycle. Relationship between these reliability measurement variables(mileage and cycle) should be examined first of all in the reliability estimation of components. Relationship between mileage and cycles is commonly known as linear function. However, the gradient depends on the operational environmental condition. Therefore, estimation of mission profile variable should be done with correlation analysis at the same time. In this paper, we derive mission profile variable of an hydraulic clutch system by field vehicle test and suggest the determination process of durability test parameters of CMC(Clutch Master Cylinder) with mission profile variable.
The present study examines the effects of 30 mg/kg butachlor on the cyanobacterial diversity of rice fields in Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Western Bihar in India. A total of 40 samples were grouped into three classes [(i) acidic, (ii) neutral, and (iii) alkaline soils], based on physicochemical and principle component analyses. Acidic soils mainly harbored Westillopsis, Trichormus, Anabaenopsis, and unicellular cyanobacteria; whereas Nostoc, Anabaena, Calothrix, Tolypothrix, and Aulosira were found in neutral and alkaline soils. Molecular characterization using 16S rRNA PCR and DGGE revealed the presence of 13 different phylotypes of cyanobacteria in these samples. Butachlor treatment of the soil samples led to the disappearance of 5 and the emergence of 2 additional phylotypes. A total of 40 DGGE bands showed significant reproducible changes upon treatment with butachlor. Phylogenetic analyses divided the phylotypes into five major clusters exhibiting interesting links with soil pH. Aulosira, Anabaena, Trichormus, and Anabaenopsis were sensitive to butachlor treatment, whereas uncultured cyanobacteria, a chroococcalean member, Westillopsis, Nostoc, Calothrix, Tolypothrix, Rivularia, Gloeotrichia, Fischerella, Leptolyngbya, and Cylindrospermum, appeared to be tolerant against butachlor at their native soil pH. Butachlor-induced inhibition of nitrogen fixation was found to be 65% (maximum) and 33% (minimum) in the soil samples of pH 9.23 and 5.20, respectively. In conclusion, low butachlor doses may prove beneficial in paddy fields having a neutral to alkaline soil pH.
Counter-diffusion of coronene desorbed from alumina with addition of tetra-phenylporphine was studied by spectrophotometry. The counter-diffusion processes of adsorbing and desorbing materials in liquid phase were simulated by counter-diffusion model based on Fritz's binary component isotherm under an assumption of equimass diffusion. The counter-diffusivities of desorbed coronene with addition of tetra-phenylporphine were as ${\sim}10^{-15}m^2/sec$ and that of adsorbed tetra-phenylporphine as ${\sim}10^{-11}m^2/sec$. The counter-diffusivity of coronene determined from desorption process was smaller by ${\sim}10^5$ times than the diffusivity determined from adsorption process of a single species. The reduction of the determined counter-diffusivity of coronene in desorption process was explained by the cross of diffusion fluxes and build-up of high gradient of coronene in pore.
A high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometric method was developed to determine simultaneously eight marker constituents of Forsythiae fructus, and subsequently applied it to classify its two botanical origins. The marker compounds of Forsythia suspensa were phillyrin, pinoresinol, phillygenin, lariciresinol and forsythiaside; those of F.viridissima were arctiin, arctigenin and matairesinol. Separation of the eight analytes was achieved on a phenyl-hexyl column (150${\times}$2.0 mm i.d., 3 ${\mu}M$) using gradient elution with the mobile phase: (A) 10% acetonitrile in 0.5% acetic acid, (B) 40% aqueous acetonitrile. A few fragment ions specific to the types of lignans, among the product ions generated by collisonally induced dissociation (CID) of molecular ion clusters, such as [M-H]$^-$ or [M+OAc]$^-$ were used not only for fingerprinting analysis but for the quantification of each epimer by using multiple-reaction monitoring mode. It was shown good linearity ($r^2{\geq}$ 0.9998) over the wide range of all analytes; intra- and inter-day precisions (RSD, %) were within 9.14% and the accuracy ranged from 84.3 to 115.1%. The analytical results of 40 drug samples, combined with multivariate statistical analyses - principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA) - clearly demonstrated the classification of the test samples according to their botanical origins. This method would provide a practical strategy for assessing the authenticity or quality of the herbal drug.
This study revisits the definition of Changma, which is the major rainy season in Korea and corresponds to a regional component of the East Asian summer monsoon system. In spite of several decades of researches on Changma, questions still remain on many aspects of Changma that include its proper definition, determination of its onset and retreat, and relevant large-scale dynamical and thermodynamical features. Therefore, this study clarifies the definition of Changma (which is a starting point for the study of interannual and interdecadal variability) using a basic concept of air mass and front by calculating equivalent potential temperature (${\theta}_e$) that considers air temperature and humidity simultaneously. A negative peak in the meridional gradient of this quantity signifies the approximate location of Changma front. This front has previously been recognized as the boundary between the tropical North Pacific air mass and cold Okhotsk sea air mass. However, this study identifies three more important air masses affecting Changma: the tropical monsoon air mass related to the intertropical convergence zone over Southeast Asia and South China Sea, the tropical continental air mass over North China, and intermittently polar continental air mass. The variations of these five air masses lead to complicated evolution of Changma and modulate intensity, onset and withdrawal dates, and duration of Changma on the interannual time scale. Importantly, use of ${\theta}_e$, 500-hPa geopotential height and 200 hPa zonal wind fields for determining Changma onset and withdrawal dates results in a significant increase (up to~57%) in the hindcast skill compared to a previous study.
A simple high performance liquid chromatographic method was developed to evaluate the quality of Moutan Cortex Radicis based on chromatographic fingerprints that characterize eight pharmacological compounds, namely, gallic acid, paeoniflorin, galloyl paeoniflorin, benzoic acid, quercetin, benzoylpaeoniflorin, paeoniflorigenone, and paeonol. These compounds were identified by their characteristic UV profiles and the mass spectroscopy data, and their contents were determined by HPLC. The chromatographic separation was performed on a $C_{18}$ column by gradient elution with 0.05% formic acid in water and acetonitrile. The methodological validation gave acceptable linearities (r = 0.9996) and recoveries (ranging from 99.4∼103.1%). The limits of detection (LOD) of these compounds ranged from 10 to 30 $\mu$g/mL. The representative chromatographic fingerprints of Moutan Cortex Radicis were obtained by analyzing 20 batches of samples collected from markets in Korea and China. For the efficient evaluation of quality for the commercial Moutan Cortex Radicis it is recommended that the total content of the six characteristic compounds should contain more than a minimum of 2% and that the content of total paeoniflorin and paeonol should exceed a minimum of 1.5% of dry weight of Moutan Cortex Radicis.
This study was done to classify the Quercus forests, along with their interpretations of environmental conditions, located in the lower montane zones of Mt. Bakdal, Gyemyeong, Boryeon, Worak, Cheondeung, Joryeong, Gugmang, Buyong, Duta, Malloe, Midong, Gamak, Sirubong, Sipjabong and Yongsanbong in Chungbuk Province, According to the methodology of the Z.-M. schools of phytosociology, the Quercus forests were classified into three communities and two subcommunities A. Quercus variabilis community, A-1. Quercus acutissima subcommunity, A-2. Typical subcommunity; B. Quercus mongolica community; C. Quercus dentata community. These vegetation units were arranged by human interferences and a gradient of environmental complex such as altitudes, and also were corresponded relatively well with the result of cluster analysis(UPGMA), based on the dominance of component species.
In this study, we developed and validated the HPLC method using the isolated components from Erycibae caulis. Their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic methods including UV, $^1H$-NMR, $^{13}C$-NMR, FAB-Mass and ESI-Mass as Compound 1 (crypto-chlorogenic acid), Compound 2 (scopolin), Compound 3 (neochlorogenic acid) and Compound 4 (3,4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid). Major three compounds and scopoletin were decided as representative components of Erycibae caulis. We established HPLC analytical method by using the representative components and 20 commercial samples which were collected considering to various cultivated area. The HPLC fingerprinting was successfully achieved with an AKZO NOBEL Kromasil 100-5C18 column. The mobile phase consisted of 0.5% acetic acid in water (A) and methanol (B) using gradient method of 85(A) to 50(A) for 35min. The fingerprints of chromatograms were recorded at an optimized wavelength of 330 nm. This developed analytical method was validated with specificity, selectivity, accuracy and precision. And it is suggested that scopolin, scopoletin, neochlorogenic acid, 3,4-di-O-caffeoylquinic acid were more than 0.162%, 0.133%, 0.057%, 0.044%, respectively. In addition, principal component analysis (PCA) was performed on the analytical data of 20 different Erycibae caulis samples in order to classify samples collected from different regions. We hope that this assay can be readily utilized as quality control method for Erycibae caulis.
