Strategies for Container Terminal Development and Operation for the Hub port in Northeast Asia (동북아 중심항만 구축을 위한 컨테이너 터미널의 개발 및 운영전략)

  • This paper aims to suggest the strategies for Korea port, especially Busan to develope into a viable transhipment center and/or Hub port as the articulation points between mainline and feeder nets. To tackle this goal, the authors clarify the requirements for Korea port which will be critical in determining its position as Hub through the careful analysis on competitiveness, environmental impact, port policy and capacity, transhipment traffic and inherent ablity to generate traffic. The results are summerized as follows. (1) Coping with increasing container volumes, new investment is sustainedly necessary to increase the capacity and inherent ability of container port and create economies of scale. Moreover, increasing port capacity will increase the potential for the Korea port's inclusion into mainline rather than feeder networks. (2) Considering an increasing awareness of need for customer-oriented option s and service quality rather than simply a reliance on infrastructure-led efficiency, privatization of one sort or another and corporation of port have been key strategies in achieving greater efficiency in Korea containerport.

  • Real-time(RT) object-oriented(OO) distributed computing is a form of RT distributed computing realized with a distributed computer system structured in the form of an object network. Several approached proposed in recent years for extending the conventional object structuring scheme to suit RT applications, are briefly reviewed. Then the approach named the TMO(Time-triggered Message-triggered Object)structuring scheme was formulated with the goal of instigating a quantum productivity jump in the design of distributed time triggered simulation. The TMO scheme is intended to facilitate the pursuit of a new paradigm in designing distributed time triggered simulation which is to realize real-time computing with a common and general design style that does not alienate the main-stream computing industry and yet to allow system engineers to confidently produce certifiable distributed time tiggered simulation for safety-critical applications. The TMO structuring scheme is a syntactically simple but semantically powerful extension of the conventional object structuring approached and as such, its support tools can be based on various well-established OO programming languages such as C++ and on ubiquitous commercial RT operating system kernels. The Scheme enables a great reduction of the designers efforts in guaranteeing timely service capabilities of application systems.

  • The use of Object-Oriented Distributed Programming(OODP) environment such as DCOM, DSOM, Java RMI, CORBA to implement distributed applications is becoming increasingly popular. However, absence of a fault-tolerance feature in these middleware platforms complicates the design and implementation of reliable distributed object-based applications, although they greatly enhance the quality and reusability of the distributed object-based applications. In this paper, we propose a fault-tolerant programming environment based on RMI, namely Evergreen, for the reliable distributed computing with checkpoints and rollback-recovery mechanism. Based on a series of experiments, we evaluate the performance of Evergreen and find its possibility of extension to fully support our optimal design goal.

Social-Aware Collaborative Caching Based on User Preferences for D2D Content Sharing

  • With rapid growth of content demands, device-to-device (D2D) content sharing is exploited to effectively improve the service quality of users. Considering the limited storage space and various content demands of users, caching schemes are significant. However, most of them ignore the influence of the asynchronous content reuse and the selfishness of users. In this work, the user preferences are defined by exploiting the user-oriented content popularity and the current caching situation, and further, we propose the social-aware rate, which comprehensively reflects the achievable contents download rate affected by the social ties, the caching indicators, and the user preferences. Guided by this, we model the collaborative caching problem by making a trade-off between the redundancy of caching contents and the cache hit ratio, with the goal of maximizing the sum of social-aware rate over the constraint of limited storage space. Due to its intractability, it is computationally reduced to the maximization of a monotone submodular function, subject to a matroid constraint. Subsequently, two social-aware collaborative caching algorithms are designed by leveraging the standard and continuous greedy algorithms respectively, which are proved to achieve different approximation ratios in unequal polynomial-time. We present the simulation results to illustrate the performance of our schemes.

The Structural Relationship among CSV, Club Identification, Club Emotion, Club Loyalty for Professional Volleyball Club

  • The ultimate goal of CSV activities is to increase consumer loyalty to the company, brand or organization concerned. Thus, for a professional sports club, CSV activities will ultimately aim to enhance the loyalty of spectators who are consumers of the club. Subjects of this study are the spectators of professional volleyball. We distributed 300 survey to people who were aware of the club's CSV activities among the home spectators of Hyundai Capital SkyWalkers. Data processing was performed using SPSS 23 and AMOS 18 for the analysis of confirmed factors, correlation analysis, reliability analysis, and structural equation model analysis. From these results, we were able to come up with the social problem resolution and long-term orientation among the CSV activities of professional volleyball clubs which affect the club identification. And the identification formed within the spectators of the clubs through CSV affects the club loyalty directly or through the medium of club emotion. Professional volleyball clubs need to identify the problems the community has in planning and proceeding with CSV activities and seek strategies to address them together, and approach them from a long-term oriented perspective.

  • The future Personal Communication Service(PCS) is the total personal information communication service to satisfy the importance of information in a highly information - oriented society. Compared with the conventional communication method, it is necessary to provide considerable intelligence to the commu- nication network in order to implement the PCS which guarantees the mobility of each individual. Consequen- tly, the PCS needs a fast large database system which stores the information of each individual. To achieve this goal, this paper presents the parallel implementation of deductive database systems as a main - memory database system.

GENERATING CLIMBING PLANTS USING L-SYSTEMS

  • We propose a novel method of procedurally generating climbing plants using L-systems. The goal of this research is to generate geometry for 3D-modelers, where procedurally generated content is used as a base for the final design. The algorithm is fast and efficiently simulates external tropisms such as gravitropism and heliotropism, as well pseudo-tropisms. The structure of the generated climbing plants is discretized into strings of particles expressed using L-systems. The tips of the plant extend the branches by adding particles in its path, forming internodes. A climbing heuristic has been developed that uses the environment as leverage when the plant is climbing, and effectively covers objects on which it grows. A fast method that sprouts leaves on the surface on which the plant is growing has also been developed, along with a heuristic that simulates the decrease in length, radius and leaf size.

  • Education is about sharing knowledge and using techniques and skills that can person's ability. the goal is to educate and develop people as a whole. In order to achieve this educational purpose efficiently, our society has many educational courses. The educational facility which can be used in a variety of educational methods should be made flexible. It should provide an environment in which ever student can grow. Being creative, using a variety of methods should help to develop character in people. In order to achieve this, the school's facilities should be future-oriented. It is necessary to research systemically about its changes and feed back according to the social demand, the educational purpose, and the changes of educational courses. This study is intended to present basic material which will be need from now on for the facility of the special classes in jeju city. Elementary schools should consider having a reasonable scale and arrangement pattern. The facility for special classes has to find a way to operate flexibly according to the changes of the class number.

  • Objectives: This study is to investigate the method for assesment of cerebral palsy(CP), especislly focusing on function assesment Methods: We searched the recent date of the publication and paper in Cerebral Palsy Results: Measuring the function of children with cerebral palsy is mobility, self-care and social ability. Early adequate evaluation of motor development and prognosis of degree of long-term motor disability is very important not only for parents, but also for correct management of goal oriented rehabilitation treatment and for planning of preventive measures. 1. Gross Motor Function Classification System(GMFCS) is valuable to prognostication about gross motor progress in children with CP, using longitudinal observation. 2. Gross Motor Function Measure(GMFM) is the instrument most commonly used to measure gross motor function in children with cerebral palsy(CP). 3. Pediatric Evaluation of Disability Inventory(PEDI) is one of the most commonly used assessments for children with a disability. Conclusions: The functional Assesment of children with CP are used GMFCS, GMFM and PEDI.

Model lessons of mathematical practice focus on creativity and character education curriculm (창의.인성교육을 위한 수학 수업 모형 사례)

  • The direction of recent education literature points to the importance of creativity and creative practices, which also plays an important role in character education and has been recognized as being invaluable for the educational goals of the 21st century. As such, the goal of mathematics educators and researchers has also been on emphasizing the importance of building character and promoting creative practices. In this research, we study the pedagogical measures that can be easily implemented in classrooms to foster creative mathematical thinking and practices in students. In particular, the mathematical topic of interest is three-dimensional geometry, and especially polygons, and processes in which mathematical knowledge and creative practices play out in classrooms. For example, we explore how these creative lessons can be organized as the target internalization lessons, concepts definition lessons, regularity and relationship lessons, question posing lessons, and narrative story lessons. All of these lessons share three commonalities: 1) they require specific planning and execution challenges in order to achieve creative tasks, 2) they take advantage of open-ended problems, and 3) they are activity-oriented. Through this study, we hope to further our understanding on successful creative mathematical educational practices in the field of mathematics education, and help establish model lessons and materials for teachers and educators to use towards such goals.
