Traditional attack detection schemes based on packets or flows have very high computational complexity. And, network based anomaly detection schemes can reduce the complexity, but they have a limitation to figure out the pattern of the distributed global scale network attack. In this paper, we propose an efficient and fast method for detecting distributed global-scale network attack symptoms in high-speed backbone networks. The proposed method is implemented at the aggregate traffic level. So, our proposed scheme has much lower computational complexity, and is implemented in very high-speed backbone networks. In addition, the proposed method can detect attack patterns, such as attacks in which the target is a certain host or the backbone infrastructure itself, via collaboration of edge routers on the backbone network. The effectiveness of the proposed method are demonstrated via simulation.

Using results from an Earth System model, we investigated change in primary production in the East China Sea, under a global warming scenario. As global warming progresses, the vertical stratification of water becomes stronger, and nutrient supply from the lower part to the upper part is reduced. Consequently, so is the primary production. In addition to the warming trend, there is strong decadal to interdecadal scale variability, and it takes a few decades before the warming trend surpasses natural variability. Thus, it would be very hard to investigate the global warming trend using data of several years' length.
ASCE/SEI 41-13 provides modeling parameters and numerical acceptance criteria for various types of members that are useful for evaluating the seismic performance of reinforced concrete (RC) building structures. To accurately evaluate the global performance of a coupled wall system, it is crucial to first properly define the component behaviors (i.e., force-displacement relationships of shear walls and coupling beams). However, only a few studies have investigated on the modeling of RC coupling beams subjected to earthquake loading to date. The main objective of this study is to assess the reliability of ASCE 41-13 modeling parameters specified for RC coupling beams with various design details, based on a database compiling almost all coupling beam tests available worldwide. Several recently developed coupling beam models are also reviewed. Finally, a rational method is proposed for determining the chord yield rotation of RC coupling beams.

The establishment of a complete geological model that includes information about all the various components at a site (such as underground structures and the compositions of rock and soil underground space) is difficult, and geological modeling is a developing field. This study uses commercial software for the relatively easy composition of geological models. Our digital modeling process integrates a model of Jeju Island's 3D geological information, models of cave shapes, and information on the state of a road at the site's upper surface. Among the numerous natural caves that exist in Jeju Island, we studied the Jaeamcheon lava tube near Hallim town, and the selected site lies below a road. We developed a digital model by applying the principles of building information modeling (BIM) to the cave (CaveBIM). The digital model was compiled through gathering and integrating specific data: relevant processes include modeling the cave's shape using a laser scanner, 3D geological modeling using geological information and geophysical exploration data, and modeling the surrounding area using drones. This study developed a global-scale model of the Hallim region and a local-scale model of the Jaeamcheon cave. Cross-validation was performed when constructing the LSM, and the results were compared and analyzed.
In recent years, the quixotic nature and concentration of rainfall due to global climate change has intensified. To monitor localized heavy rainfalls, a reliable disaster monitoring and warning system with advanced remote observation technology and high-precision display is important. In this paper, we propose a GIS-based intuitive and realistic 3D radar data display technique for accurate and detailed weather analysis. The proposed technique performs 3D object modeling of various radar variables along with ray profiles and then displays stereoscopic radar data on detailed geographical locations. Simulation outcomes show that 3D object modeling of weather radar data can be processed in real time and that changes at each moment of rainfall events can be observed three-dimensionally on GIS.

The finite element modeling is used to study the buckling and postbuckling behavior of composite laminates with an embedded delamination. Degenerated shell element and rigid beam element are utilized for the finite element modeling. In the nonlinear finite element formulation, the updated Lagrangian description method based on the second Piola-Kirchhoff stress tensor and the Green strain tensor is used. The buckling and postbuckling behavior of composite laminates with a delamination are investigated for various delamination sizes, stacking sequences, and boundary conditions. It is shown that the buckling load and postbuckling behavior of composite laminates depend on the buckling model which is determined by the delamination size, stacking sequence and boundary condition. Also, results show that introduction of couplings can reduce greatly the buckling load.

IoT devices are interconnected in global network with different functionalities and manage the data transfer in cloud computing. IoT devices can be used anytime, anywhere with any device with different applications and protocols. Same devices but different applications according to end user requirements such as sensors and Wi-Fi devices, reusability of these applications can enhance the development process. However, large number of variations in cloud computing make it difficult the features selection in application because of compatibility issues of devices. In this paper we have proposed multi-Software Product Lines (multi-SPLs) approach to manage the variabilities and commonalities of IoT applications and protocols. Feature modeling is used to manage the commonalities and variabilities of SPL. We proposed that multi-SPLs feature model is more appropriate for modeling of IoT applications and protocols.

This paper introduces the new generic dynamic neuro-fuzzy local modeling system (DNFLMS) that is based on a dynamic Takagi-Sugeno (TS) type fuzzy inference system for complex dynamic hydrological modeling tasks. The proposed DNFLMS applies a local generalization principle and an one-pass training procedure by using the evolving clustering method to create and update fuzzy local models dynamically and the extended Kalman filtering learning algorithm to optimize the parameters of the consequence part of fuzzy local models. The proposed DNFLMS is applied to develop the inference model to forecast the flow of Waikoropupu Springs, located in the Takaka Valley, South Island, New Zealand, and the influence of the operation of the 32 Megawatts Cobb hydropower station on springs flow. It is demonstrated that the proposed DNFLMS is superior in terms of model accuracy, model complexity, and computational efficiency when compared with a multi-layer perceptron trained with the back propagation learning algorithm and well-known adaptive neural-fuzzy inference system, both of which adopt global generalization.

When the formative construct is placed in the endogenous position, there are clear theoretical, mathematical, and empirical issues in model estimation. Nonetheless, scholars who have adopted structural equation modeling for empirical research and those who are engaged in debates on the viability of formative modeling fail to recognize the fundamental problems of employing formative measurement in the endogenous position. This manuscript is intended to set a corrective path by discussing three reasons why this frequented practice may be avoided in both theoretical and empirical research.

For engineers in the industry, this study considers a reliable and practical finite element modeling technique to estimate the behavior of closed thin-walled members with spot weldings. Dynamic and static experiments confirm that the technique - modeling the spot weldings with solid elements which have the adjusted rotational freedoms and fill the welding space - Yields satisfactory results. Numerical studies on the double hat-shaped members. adopting this modeling technique. show the effect of the spot welding Pitch and the spot welding location in the flange on the stiffness of the members Using the principal stiffness and newly proposed GSPI(global stiffness performance index), we also carefully examine how the spot welding curvature, and sectional shape, etc.. synthetically influence the stiffness of a real excavator pillar in the field.
